First Test Of Samsung SC-MX20

Hey, I was wondering if you can tell me if you can do a "Start/Stop" way of recording...For example, if you can be recording outside in your backyard...and then cut right into being in your car...something like that. Do you know what I mean? I dont know a lot about camcorders cause I never owned one...so maybe you can do that with all camcorders. But I want to know if you can do it with this Samsung SC-MX20. Thanks

No, it takes a while before HQ pops up. It's a little discomforting but eventually it becomes HQ.

youtube does it automatically if your video is digital, or if you have a hd camcorder, other than than its done automatically when you upload to youtube...

ok i got the camcorder and well iv tried editing videos on windows movie maker and it wont edit them. will i have to get a mac or will i have to upgrade my movie make? but i think i have the latest version of movie maker

I never used Windows Movie Maker. I always used Sony Vegas and I knew Sony Vegas could accept these files. You don't have to get a Mac.  But the sad thing is will probably have to convert them before using it in Movie Maker.

How much time you can record in resolution TV Super Fine if you have a memory card 8Gb?

Well, supposedly TV Super fine records at 20 min. per GB so 8GB would be 160 min (2 hours 40 min.). Although I got three 2GB cards I wouldn't mind an 8GB card at a good price.

I put it through Sony Vegas 8 and render it in a high quality. I never did upload it straight. So I guess it's not high quality when you upload it straight. Also, I'm usually on Super Fine on the camera's quality setting.

The Samsung records in a 720x480 resolution. In Sony Vegas, you can't render in a higher resolution which makes total sense. Believe me, I tried. If you want HD, you need to get an HD camera. I was willing to forgo HD for a nice camera. I don't like the quality of the Kodak/Flip Mino pseudo-HD cameras. If I want HD, I'll get a real HD camera which would probably be in the $500-800 range - money I wasn't willing to spend right now.

u can change the resolution to 1280x720 and make the bit rate over 1000 it works with the mx20
