I've had it twice in the last 2 weeks. I had never researched this subject before, only now i decided to come online and do so. There was no way i could have some pre-disposition to dream of this, by hearing or reading about it. I didn't even quite knew what sleep paralysis was about. Still, the evil man and the lady made an appearance - and he even attacked me. Alamost makes me believe they exist, rather than being illusions of my mind. I was so scared and still am...
what helped stop my sleep paralysis was getting more sleep (i was very deprived at the time and had a terrible sleep schedule), praying (before i fell asleep and during paralysis), and MOVING MY TOES. if you are in paralysis, move your toes, it will kick you right out!!!
My most prominent experience of Sleep Paralysis was about a year and a half ago;
I was lying in bed (on my back) when suddenly I was unable to move. My eyes were half shut, and I remember looking up and large amount of foggyness was about but only in part of the room (in front of me)...
I actually seen a lady with very light green skin.. A somewhat cragely nose, long damaged grey hair, and most frightening of all her eye sockets were completely black . She smiled at me as well.
I just starred experiencing this about a year ago! I hate it...it scares me. I haven't seen anything yet! But I pray I don't. You should watch the movie "Insidious"
and then I had this sensation of "turning over" and then suddenly going upwards, just a few feet and then.....over. I was awake. I had this feeling that something paranormal had taken place... I was dissapointed that it had ended. i have never had anything like that again. Dream?
Tell you something else as well in that same room. Id gone to bed. Started with a tingling in my toes (thought it was "pins and needles" or summat) but the tingling spread, up my feet, legs, carried on, I became paralysed, but I was totally aware, scared but fascinated. I could not move. Then there was like a rhythmic sound, like a clock and a buzzing and my whole body like it was vibrating. And I thought to myself (like I knew something was gonna happen) "here we go" (continue next message)
It was incredible. Would happen repeatedly. Same thing like It was really happening. Spooky thing is I live on my own now(different place)....but it does'nt happen now.
I used to have a "dream" regularly, more like an experience than a dream. (a house where I lived about 30 years ago before I left home) Id be aware of something on top of me, or something tormenting/pulling at the bedding. Idlook around. It was like reality. I could see my brother in his bed nearby. Id be trying to shout him.I'd struggle out of bed like I was in thick liquid or summat. Shouting my brother, shouting my mother and others that were in bed. Go light switch but finger just go thro.
I experienced this and it felt like a ghost was on me. It also whispered "more love?" and then i woke up and freaked out. im not religious so i dont think this has anything to do with religion. funny i say that since my user says otherwise but its the truth. I do believe in the paranormal though.
When I have a sleep paralysis, It's just me lying in my bed paralized, can't shout for help, can't see nothing, heavy chest. Almost like something invisible like a ghost is sitting on me. But It feels like I'm actually awake when it happens.
@Jmelpegues God would not let demons torment you because you didn't pray. Its a state of mind. when youre body is frozen you feel afraid, and because you're still asleep your mind is free to conjure up whatever it wants. When you pray you alter your mind state from fear to confidence and therefore the illusions disperse.
@B1ackNinja04 The devil attaches himself to you when your actions have been unholy. He sees it as a way to note that you are not fully latched on to Jesus Christ, this makes your soul vulnerable. Satan feeds off of our sins, sinning invites him into our lives. The best thing to do is to genuinely repent for your sins and ALWAYS pray before going to sleep. Living in sin invites the Devil into your life.
When I started having it I didnt really know about sleep paralysis,i thought I was the only one havin it or I was being haunted, but the worst ive had was wen I felt dat I was dragged out of bed and levitated in the air, but I researched about it n wen I understood it ive never had it again, ive had minor sleep paralysis but I was able to control it n not get scared
Its the spirit of God chastizing his children. Those of you that are suffering this.Examine yourself in light of scripture.Learn what repentance is.Call out to the Lord and the darkness will flee.
@watershoe5 I don't think its spiritual. Calling on the lord does not help, you just have to wait it out. Its medical and the only way to get through it is to adjust your sleeping habits.
i get ringing every time i relax it's a panic based ring and if i dont take no notice of it i will get sleep paralysis but if i do and no its a panic related sound im ok them i get a jerk its not a hypnic jerk but something i am able to do myself im still very scared but its kinda kool anyone who has this get some exercise a few hours before sleep get ur mind tired aswell the body it might reslove itself
I always hear loud noises and see flashing lights on my wall, and occasionally feel the sensation of getting sucked into my bed. I eventually will myself to start moving, and my body awakens.
Old Hags syndrome. Gotta love sleep paralysis. I have experienced it as a sleep scientist it really did feel supernatural. However knowing the reasons it is ok.
I've had this happen to me a few times, but I don't think it is spiritually related. For me, instead of demons and "old hags" I "hallucinate" things happening such as my house being on fire, or a tornado is coming. When I wake up and am physically paralyzed, my mind immediately goes to a "what would I do if this were to happen" state. I have never had the "evil in the room" feeling, but it is still incredibly terrifying because it really does feel like it is actually happening.
lol this shit happen to me a long time ago back when i was still in highschool with crazy ass sleeping schedule. The "demon" never attacked me lol..i did see scary demon and extremely loud screaming but i knew it wasn't real. Sometime when i'm bore i just let it ride instead of fighting it and see how long i can last before the body natural fear mechanism start to kick in. Kinda miss it actually..it was pretty fun and interesting to see what my mind can come up with.
Luckily I've only had this once I didn't see demons I just couldn't move or scream/talk there was a loud ringing noise I was able to wake up my gf with making noises with my throat then she "woke" me up my eyes were open the whole time it was weird
I have not got the old hag or shadow people, however my siblings have. My latest was in daylight during a nap. I looked down and saw the girl from the movie "The Ring", thank God her hair covered her face. She had a very eery childish cry (if you ever play the game "Left 4 Dead" the same cry from the witch. You are on Youtube, watch a trailer so you know it). She placed her right hand on my head. Did not grab my hair, but her hand was pushing down my head.
@juliannades39 who says it was a threat? its just facts you cant see with your ignorance so you shouldnt be allowed to speak anywhere even on here so shhhushh
I had these sleep paralysis 3 times already.. well i think its that. the first time happened a month ago i felt awake but for some reason i couldn't move or i was moving but very very slow and felt like something heavy was pushing Me down.. then i heard foot steps someone came inside my room and felt my leg being pulled off the bed.. then somehow i woke up couldn't sleep after that... very creepy the other times i've manage to wake up right before i hear the foot steps and my door opening..
@juliannades39 keep telling yourself that when you finally realize you wont wake up after the next few times, without God your gonna be begging for mercy
i Dreamt that i callapsed to the floor paralysed after hearin a loud screech and my mom ran to me and stood over me then i woke up in the same position still paralysed and this shadow dude was standin over me in same position my mom was in my dream..i trippd out bad
holy shit this happen to me last night its happen twice now. i was dreaming then i went into paralysis an a lady walked up to my bed a started talking to me then i woke up =[ this was really scary
Don't face up when you are sleeping! I started sleeping on my side after this demon shit, i still have SP attacks but never as bad as that fucking demon!!! Can someone tell me if this helps cos i think it would really help?
@UgetMe09 The thing is to calm down. If you panic you will only make it worse. Repeat saying its not real and only sleep paralysis you are experiencing or call on god, whatever make you relax helps.
@International72521 I was under my covers sleeping on my side and despite being pitch black i could somehow see a lizard like creature that hissed at me, closed my eyes out of fear and heard a DEMON behind me make a "eaaaaaaaaah" sound, something like that. It can happen in any position
I've had sleep paralysis for several years now, and the thing I see is always the same. It's always this dark figure that just looks at me, it's never gotten close to me, but every time I have this sleep paralysis, it keeps getting closer. At first I would just look around corners, or look down hallways, and it would peek it's head out of a door or something, and that's when I get out of the "trance". Now, I feel like it's seeking me, moving closer. Scary shit...
Had sleep paralysis several times, and had seen ghost vision almost everytime. And it's always the same girl, Sadako (Japanese the ring). And yes, it's not just a vision, I could feel her hair sweeping my face. But nothing supernatural about it, I think it's just my mind playing tricks. But, I do pray when I get this.
(part 3) i was able to move and I was absolutely horrified. I could no longer see the creatures, but they were there before as clear as day. and I wasn't sleeping, I was consciously watching these beasts. I also felt the pressure on my chest, but could not see anything sitting on me like this lady says. I could not sleep after that due to fear. The only time I've ever experienced such a thing, and it was certainly terrifying. I am not religious and the content of my experience wasnt either
(part 2) I could feel them clawing at my heels. I successfully got my body and legs into the tube in the wall, but my feet were exposed, and I could feel them tearing at my feet. i could literally feel the pain. It was at this point that I woke up. I was on my back and was stuck. I couldnt move and I could see them at the foot of my bed scraping and clawing at my feet, and it was painful. I tried to scream but I couldn't. it only lasted a few moments, then i was released..... continued..
This shit really happens, and its not just to people with narcolepsy! this happened to me, I'm not religious, only once it happened, about a year ago. these characters werent there though. My experience went like this; it began with a dream, it was a very abstract dream like all of my others, but it was definitely very vivid in comparison to most. i was being chased by small creatures, and i dove into a tube in the wall to escape them. they were evil i knew. they wanted to kill me....
hoooly shit.. if this ever happened to me I would probably die of fear or never be able to sleep again.. and now I'll go to sleep in a few minutes and I'm afraid this will happen.. great
I somehow had Sleep paralysis latch onto me several times in a row in the same night, I know how to get out of it (just move your fingers). Whenever I try to lucid dream I make sure my face is somewhere where there is nothing I could see. When I tried to 'slip' into lucid dreaming I saw a bright blue light. Weird.
What the hell is up with the ghost stories, all that happens to me when i get this is iam awake but my body cant move and i cant talk. This has nothing to do with ghosts its something that happens in your body that keeps you from moving.
i remember hearing about this and i thought it was complete bull shit. but it happened to me last night and i hated it. i am terrifired to go back to sleep. a part of me thinks it is just apart of the mind and its a pyschological thing and the hallucinations are obviously not real and its like experiencing a nightmare but slightly awake. but i am native american and ive always believed in god and ghosts. bc during my episode a man was talking to me... i dont know what to think....
@Youdontknowyet Interesting that you thought it was bull shit until it happened to you. Is that your ususal response to the world? You don't believe it unless you experience it personally.
I'm trying to figure out to see how this is working and stuff, but they just make those characters/videos too damn scary :@ Now I'm really sure I'm getting nightmares.
Uhh, I thought I was just nuts. I have had sleep paralysis accompanied by what I felt as something having sex with me, and other times just a sense of fear because I knew something was in my room but I never saw anything.
I had this experience an it was terrifying, but i dont think its anything supernatural, im 26 an i only had it once, i think it has something to do with your brain an rem sleep an dreaming all combined
I have experience this many times in my life time. The way that i defeated it was with breathing techniques used from my meditation. It's like I create an invisible force field around my body that being are unable to penetrate. My theory is that you reach a state of consciousness where your mind is in touch with parallel dimensions. Thats why you can see your room and companions sleeping next to you yet it seems like they cant hear. It's because these beings are extra dimensional.
I get this from time to time, usually midweek after a weekend of heavy partying. Scared the hell out of me the first couple of times but doesn't really bother me too much now. I know it's just a phenomena of the mind. Doesn't happen too often at least.
smoke around 4 bowls of cannabis or eat some canna edibles before bed and whenever you awaken during the night smoke some more. i have not had sleep paralysis since i started medicating with this wonder herb, could the cannabinoids sedate and regulate some of our neurological functions associated with SP?? all i know is that it works.
i have this happen all the time.but there is no monsters for me. just paralyzed.noticed if i sleep with someone beside me i dont get it.. or if i am touched while i have it happen i can come out of it quickly.A freind observed me said i am having a anxiety atack in my sleep. but i am fully awake when it happen cannot move a limb the more try to move the more panic to move.it hasnt happen for couple years now.. i lay now with my arm or leg next to the side of bed,i can push it off bed to wake out
a few months ago i thought i was going to have another sp because i feel a numbing or buzzing sensation like i am ready to slip into it. i pinch myself out. a few moments later happen to me again when closing my eyes i felt something evil and scare but then i kept cool and think about naked girls and it turn into a dream but i could feel i was fucking because i played into it and it felt real. when i woke up i was hard as hell and my boxers had semen on it LMAO
Sp is scary as hell! when i was 12 one night, looked up and the cracks on the ceiling formed faces,Couldn't move or yell. couldn't tell the difference between dream or reality because the clock was 1:34am which was also the same time i saw the facial on the ceiling because i also look at the clock when it happen. went back to sleep...this time I was dreaming. it was pitch black and a skeleton out of no where pop right on front of my face! remembering this moment gives me the chills...
usually i have learned to ignore sleep paralysis. but today i was terrified to death in my paralysis my heart stopped and you know those machine that are connect to patients in hospital that make that beep beep noise for ur heart rate and when the heart stops it goes like beeeeeeeeeep. I heard that beeeeeep loudly and my heart beat stopping and i was sinking. i thought i was gonna die in my sleep and this is it. it was so scaryy
I have had this once in my life, in a north african country. I woke up completely except I could not move any part of my body. I looked up and a blue figure was peering over me, looking at me, almost curiously. He seemed benign though. But i still was so scared and cried the rest of the night and could not sleep again.
idk why so many people hate their SP! FEAR MAKES IT WORSE! ive had figures around my ved, and voices and buzzing noises. ive also had alot of out of body experiances from it. what ive learned from having it so much is that fear makes it worse and you can control them if you keep your cool. its just like a dream. you can control a dream if you know your dreaming. i know how scary it can be, fearmakes it so much worse!
If anyone experiences sleep paralysis we want to hear your story. Share your story on our page sleep-paralysis (dot) net and write your story in our contact form. We will create your own page under case studies. Its free so share your story today.
Let me explain how to defeat these entities, they will cease control of ur physical body but that's all... I noticed they get extremely heated when I call on Jesus Christ because they know they can't defeat God Almighty so they attack your body even harder because that's their normal response cuz they're evil! But guess what if you keep sayin God's Word you will notice that they're losing they're energy due to your faith in God, then suddenly these dark Powerful entities are pleading for Mercy!
@SwazyFinesse Inbox me if you experience this damn near every night, cuz I know damn well I do, but eventually you have to face the fact that you only have one choice to make them go away and that's to use ur force against theirs. If you want to know more about this force Read the Bible, use google, then inbox me. We need to form a Social group of support that focuses on positivity and love coming from fellow believers who has experienced numerous bouts of sleep paralysis. Live right Be Alright!
@SwazyFinesse your'e wrong i have this syndrome and the only thing you need to do to get them vanished is looking in there eyes for a few sec and dont be afraid or smile at it ...
@oliverjanssen Well guess what I have that "Syndrome" too and guess what my "medication" is.... THE BIBLE! So don't tell me my "doctor" is wrong til you''ve tried His "prescription"! Trust me I've seen more hideous entities than you can handle and I'm just here to help... you want proof of God's existence??? Well this is your chance here buddy... Now take the pill. God Bless
@SwazyFinesse I don't have to worry about that shit because I'm covered by the almighty flying spaghetti monster. These motherfuckers don't even fuck with me because they know FSM will wipe out their whole family tree.
@SwazyFinesse sleep paralysis has been scientifically explained. Sorry, but those entities are hallucinations of your state between consciousness and sleep - sleep paralysis is caused by a misfire of chemicals in your body caused by sleeping on your BACK or your FRONT. Don't want it? Sleep on your sides, that's what I started doing when I got it the first time around
@chipmunkee Science can't explain everything, for example Ouija boards... If science was the answer to everything there would be no theories. Think about it
@chipmunkee I'm not sure that is the answer my worst experience was while i slept on my side, i could sense someone behind me and was aware of a shadow/figure out of the corner of my eye, they grabbed my side and pinched and twisted so hard that when i woke up i jumped out of bed and checked myself for a mark i was sweating and scared out of my life. I couldn't go back to sleep for a few hours. It was really painful, yet 'didn't happen'. Never forget it, now iv learned to live with it.
@WillyiamLy Telling me to stfu won't make my comment disappear. Any sane person would tell someone who's talking to a wall to stfu. U get it??? Forget it... ha
@boyka1408 People do have experiences like those in this video. I've had SP numerous of times; the worst I've had was dreaming about a demon and waking up to being paralyzed, feeling evil lurking, only able to release a low moaning sound, and hearing unclear whispering in my ears! If you've never experienced it then you have no say on it. This is REAL and FRIGHTENING! I've learnt to deal with it through Jesus Christ! I call upon him and it vanishes. Praying before sleeping reduces it also!
@OmGxDanielle I have a say in this because I have been experiencing SP for the last five years and I have come to the point where I can control it...I didn't need Jesus Christ and nobody does. It is scientifically explainable...It is real and it is frightening, but you don't need religion to stop it or reduce the effects...
@boyka1408 So when multiple unrelated people have the same dream as told in the documentary, what does science say about that? Do you believe that spirits exist?
@rioyuske Science would say "prove it". If those unrelated people have the same condition, that does not make it universally true. I don't personally believe spirits exist. I have had the same experience as those people with my SP. However, I have also had other episodes where I would hear my heart beat faster and faster until it stopped beating, that scared me way more than the devil shape. I also experienced an episode where I felt that I was floating and that one was actually pleasant.
@boyka1408 I understand. But similar experiences have been had from completely unrelated people as said in this documentary, as seen in cross-cultural ancient texts which makes this not only recent, but a consistent experience over time. I'm asking you from a scientific standpoint how you would explain it since you do believe science can explain these things. If not, then would you not accept that they actually are spirits?
@rioyuske I understand where you're coming from. Even if science could not explain exactly why people see these apparitions, I don't think that I would ever accept the fact they're spirits because everyone's experience is so different...I believe that those apparitions are hallucinations made-up by the brain because we are in a state of fear when we wake up paralyzed. It might also be the fact that we are under stress in our daily lives and that shows in SP. It is purely in the brain IMO.
Last night strange thing happened to me in my sleep. I had the weirdest sensation that something gripped my right wrist down on my bed. I don't know if it was my left hand or not (hazy memory sorry). So I just screamed for life and got up. 3:15am. Yeah so weird. I didn't want to go to sleep cos I tried to make sense of what happened. Still I had chills running up my spine and I got the feeling something in my bedroom. It was so dreadful. Is it ghost, alien or just my imagination?
this happened to me twice almost three but pulled out of but i dident see nothing tho but my mom said someone was choking her and felt someone breath in her ear
this is very real bcause it happened to me one night but there was no old lady, it was just a big tall dark figure prob like 7foot tall and it reached out its hand and put it on my forehead and icouldn't move or talk
guys when you are being attacked like this in your dreams remember its your mind your dream you are in control, get a hold of your self stop being scared and fight back,
@RedxLilxSleepy Sounds so simple doesn't it? I tell myself this CONSTANTLY, even while experiencing it. But it's different when you're going through it. Common sense and reality completely fly out of the window. This happens to me every other week, but no matter how many times it's happened I CAN'T get used to it. It's hard to fight back when you can't move a muscle. No matter how hard you try, how loud you try to scream, you can't.
@Oladale13 deal with it like i do..i was just like you about 9 months ago, scared out of my mind. sleep on ur side and never on your back. if u have an episode never open ur eyes no matter what u hear or feel
@JessMar69 LoL now i can talk, I said that i couldn't talk one morning and then I closed my eyes for a while and then i tried to speak and everything was normal :)
Experienced this since a little girl, always wondered why it is an evil presence? i'v seen the tall black figure, felt someone or something get on my bed and even heard loads of voices chatting{a bit like a radio being tuned in} falling sensation and have been above my bed lookin down on the room im definately awake! i'v seen, heard n felt lots of really strange things.. sure there are lots of scientific explanations but how come its always evil n things u would never in a million years imagine???
@vampesss777 I saw one of the documentaries. Fear and Evil thoughts are part because the amygdala region of the brain is stimulated during deep REM of sleep, which allows us to experience a heightened amount of fear. :)
Try watching this video. It explains about the "evil" things we experience and everything else.
can someone tell me if the attacks by the old Bitch cause phyical damage? Bewcause i have undergone sleep paralysis for as long as i can remember yet i have never been attacked or harmed?
I'm glad I learned about this. The first time I had sleep paralysis I knew what it was since I knew that the body self-paralyzes in REM sleep, and so was just annoyed. I then had a pseudo-dream of some nasty ambiguous figure lying on my chest, but I wasn't completely terrified because I knew what it was.
Then I remembered to scrunch my face, and I woke up.
I used to get this. like my head is glued to the pillow and my eyes are sealed shut unable to open them. never saw an old hag or shadow man but felt real evil pressence. But Praise be to Jesus i cast that pressence out of my home in the name of Jesus and they were gone instantly never had problems with them leaving after that.
ive also experienced the arm kinda thing, it happened when i fell asleep watching TV and something touched me, my shoulder like a little push i looked around my shoulder and i saw an arm like it was someone behind me, and i jumped up from the couch and looked and the arm was gone, im 19 years old now, and i havent had these attacks for a year now.. it feels awesome and i hope it never returns... for you others who still suffers be strong it will discpear eventually.. sorry for my english..
@kevinsbank wow i've experienced that too, and even sometimes ive felt like someone was violently shaking me like to wake me up, but then its nothing.
second time she haunted me, i was lying in my bed to fall asleep, i closed my eyes and i felt this presence and i opened my eyes and she came right at me in high speed right in my face with open mouth, as allways pale/white like a ghost. i got this adrenaline rush cus i got so scared i flew out of the bed screaming i turned the on the light ran out of the room, later i turned on the TV couldnt sleep.. didnt sleep 2 days after that, i have a hard time not to think that im being haunted by demons.
and ive been visited by miss HAG......... trust me she is the scarriest thing on this planet, first time she haunted me she was sitting beside my bed, white pale, i could see every outline in her face it was so real... and i could move or speak... i was paralysized i could do was starring at her, after a moment i could move my arms and i did surround them around my eyes and when i looked again she was gone, the next time she visited me she attacked
when i was 13 years old a teenager it came back, i had been up playing world of warcraft...and when i was going to bed, i heard this voices/noises and then this dark man was standing starring at me across the room, i couldnt move just scream, ive been haunted several time by this dark man and he is allways standing across the room starring, but he never attacks... ive seen other stuff like shadows, of some sort strange stuff on my roof over the bed
i cryed out for help to make the insects/"demons" stop hurting me... i mean for a 3 years old it was so real i didnt know anything.. my mother lifted me up and ran in to the bath room and shutted the door and turned up the light, and everything got quiet and they were gone and the feeling the relief omg i cant discribe it, ehm after that it didnt return untill my teenage years and it got worse i was haunted several nights aweek and i going to tell you my visions and how i experiencesed it.
it was after the sting i could move, i jumped down from my 2 floored bed and ran trought the dark korridors to my mothers bed room, she was asleep with he boyfriend, i woke them up with crying/screams... i was in chock and panic, my mom tryed to make contact with me but these insects followed me in to my moms bedroom and attacked me like hell i could still feel the attacks and it hurted, i took pillows to defend my self and did hit the insects but nothing happened they just were all over me
hello everyone, ive suffered from this since i got my first memorie, from when i was around 3-4 years old.... i can remember it as if it was like yesterday. im going to tell you all my experiences with details, that night it first happaned i woke up and i felt that something was in the room with me a presence, i couldnt move or say anything, and suddenly i was attacked by this giant flying insects.. there were dark and one stinged me and i could feel the pain it hurted like hell...
This happend to me when i was a young kid, about 5. I used to sleep in the same bed as mom, and sometimes this old lady appeared, just standing at the side of the bed watching me, and I coudnt tell my mom or wake her, I tried to scream but it was impossible. I was totally paralyzed, I always got freaked out. I was always afraid of seeing her when I went to bed.
I couldn't move a thing last night not sure what happened in my head I think there was someone in the doorway and there was a noise to the left of me my partner sleeps on my right i managed to get control of my voice before anything else and woke her up by mumbling at her she talked to me an it passed I was still hallucinating when I was talking to my gf it was the strangest experience I've ever had
Can you put a camera in the room?Try sprinkling holy water on the bed.

I suffer this and It only happens when I don't pray and when it happens I pray and it stops
Jmelpegues 1 week ago
@Jmelpegues God would not let demons torment you because you didn't pray. Its a state of mind. when youre body is frozen you feel afraid, and because you're still asleep your mind is free to conjure up whatever it wants. When you pray you alter your mind state from fear to confidence and therefore the illusions disperse.
B1ackNinja04 1 week ago
@B1ackNinja04 The devil attaches himself to you when your actions have been unholy. He sees it as a way to note that you are not fully latched on to Jesus Christ, this makes your soul vulnerable. Satan feeds off of our sins, sinning invites him into our lives. The best thing to do is to genuinely repent for your sins and ALWAYS pray before going to sleep. Living in sin invites the Devil into your life.

Old Hags syndrome. Gotta love sleep paralysis. I have experienced it as a sleep scientist it really did feel supernatural. However knowing the reasons it is ok.
kirafaye 3 weeks ago
I've had this happen to me a few times, but I don't think it is spiritually related. For me, instead of demons and "old hags" I "hallucinate" things happening such as my house being on fire, or a tornado is coming. When I wake up and am physically paralyzed, my mind immediately goes to a "what would I do if this were to happen" state. I have never had the "evil in the room" feeling, but it is still incredibly terrifying because it really does feel like it is actually happening.

OmGxDanielle 1 week ago
@OmGxDanielle I have a say in this because I have been experiencing SP for the last five years and I have come to the point where I can control it...I didn't need Jesus Christ and nobody does. It is scientifically explainable...It is real and it is frightening, but you don't need religion to stop it or reduce the effects...

@boyka1408 So when multiple unrelated people have the same dream as told in the documentary, what does science say about that? Do you believe that spirits exist?
rioyuske 1 week ago
@rioyuske Science would say "prove it". If those unrelated people have the same condition, that does not make it universally true. I don't personally believe spirits exist. I have had the same experience as those people with my SP. However, I have also had other episodes where I would hear my heart beat faster and faster until it stopped beating, that scared me way more than the devil shape. I also experienced an episode where I felt that I was floating and that one was actually pleasant.
boyka1408 1 week ago
@boyka1408 I understand. But similar experiences have been had from completely unrelated people as said in this documentary, as seen in cross-cultural ancient texts which makes this not only recent, but a consistent experience over time. I'm asking you from a scientific standpoint how you would explain it since you do believe science can explain these things. If not, then would you not accept that they actually are spirits?
rioyuske 1 week ago

Just some black sabbath lyrics that remind me of this experience heheha
What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one, oh nooo!

You want to cure your sleep paralysis and prevent demons from sitting on your chest? Attend a biology course at your local community college.
There is no boggy man or evil figure. Science will help eliminate your fears.

Damn shouldnt have watched now i really afraid to sleep. Its not a dream, its our body maybe something think were dead
