  • This video makes no mention of the actual devices used to grind. The title is misleading.

  • Cowboy cooks used to carry along the coffee grinder box on long drives. Don't know what they do today, maybe the same, maybe send somebody to Starbucks!!

  • Fucking cheap coffee beans she's been using.. all the white peaces in the coffee shouldent be there in a good coffee quality.. They make the coffee bitter tasting, and who wants that ? I sure dont..

  • soooooo which kind of grinder should i.....oh forget it. thanks for wasting my time.

  • i thought she's telling us which kind of coffee grinder is best for grinding coffee

  • Ok I guess I learned what kind of coffee grind is the best for different types of equipment you use.

So what kind of coffee grinder is the best?

  • I love starbucks!

  • I can't live a day with my cup of coffee! I got some good blend tips at coffeeloverstipsandtricks (.) com

  • coffee rots asshole :D

  • Chow Tits XD

  • Surface area has NOTHING to do with french press though. The ONLY reason people grind course on french press is to minimize fines in the cup. Coarse grinds often have less consistent grinds and are worse for brewing temperatures. But she does understand that espresso has a lot of surface area, but she explains that on espresso being a quick brewing method, when it's the other way around. You can do a three minute espresso shot on a very slow pouring ristretto. It just taste like shit.

  • i don't understand her hair

  • THE NEXT BILLY MAYS!!!!!

    INTRODUCING... THE COFFEE!!!!

    *cut*

    *take 5 every one*

  • she looks like a dude

  • Does this video really answer "What kind of coffee grinder is best?"

  • it looks like WEED ...

  • Bad weed lmao

  • I don't even drink coffee, but I love watching these things...

  • Now I don't have a clue why I watched this or anything about coffee grinding but when she says at 0:12 about needing surface area, the finer it is more surface area

  • While you are correct, she doesn't say "lots of surface area," but rather, "proper surface area." I guess this implies that the "proper" amount of surface area is less than the other two grinds.

  • Wait, really?

    Small = More surface area?

    ... Really...

  • If you think about it yes, the smaller the thing is the less of it is inside itself, if you know what I mean, so this means that what was inside the coffee is now on the outside, sorry for that shite explanation but look it up, tis incredibly simple

  • @SheepJumpFish actually, coffee grinds clump up after being moisten, and the more finer the grind, the tighter the clump. That's why when we run water through a super find grind on a coffee filter, we find a curious hockey puck looking object.

  • @PerfectionObsessive don't really know what you're saying, but what I've said is not incorrect, though seemingly I misunderstood her saying proper surface area as in the most possible. But I really don't know why I watched this, it's of no interest to me.

  • @SheepJumpFish just think of wet sand vs wet pebbles, sand will clump and create an almost impermeable surface while pebbles won't clump to that extent

  • @PerfectionObsessive I'm not disputing that, I merely stated that the smaller the particles, the greater the surface area, when dry at least

  • duh

  • @manuelito1233

    small =/= more surface area

big thing pulverized into tiny bits = more surface area

  • @SheepJumpFish For the coarse grind, she says "proper surface area".

For the finer grind, she emphasizes the need for "a lot of surface area"

It was bad wording on her part, but I think she understands the concept.

  • @SheepJumpFish She didn't say it needed more surface area, she said the PROPER surface area. Meaning French Press benefits from an extraction with less surface area, while espresso benefits from maximum surface area.

  • @SheepJumpFish then she repeats it with espresso....so i dont understand her either....she definitely cant explain things properly...btw she looks like Dr.Oz

  • @SheepJumpFish Unfortunately CHOW does not use the most knowledgeable people...

  • @SheepJumpFish She says PROPER surface area which is less since it's corse but she never says the surface area is smaller

  • Thanks for the advice keep it comming
