  • cubs fans are a bunch of little bitches evry single fan around bartman goes to catch the ball then all blame him for being a dick by catching the ball

  • its just a game people

try spending more time with your families and kids

  • The Cubs and their fans suck...heres to another 100 years of pathetic baseball assholes!

  • The Marlins should have named this guy MVP

  • Get a rope!

  • Get a rope!

  • a simple minded man turned into a monster -_-

  • I saw the guy next to Steve in the Grey sweater going for the ball at the same time as Steve and he was also a cubs fan it's just like hokiemiller22 said anybody in that situation would have done the same thing it's what we do as fans we see the ball as a prize. like the Texas fan who died last year by falling over the railing 20 feet in the air and landing on his head killing him when we see a foul ball coming we don't focus on anything els but the ball

  • IMO the Cubs fans were and are complete and unrelenting dumbasses for blaming the loss on this guy, u all would have gone for the ball too, if u say u wouldn't, then u're a dumbass who's also a liar! but in ur defense i believe that if this had happened 2 any other team then their dumb hick fans would have given the same mindless response...

To be perfectly honest i couldn't care less about baseball, i think it's the most boring sport right next to cricket, golf and bowls. Grow the fuck up!!

  • You can't really blame Bartman for htis one, Chicago. He isn't the guy that gave up 7 runs...

  • man dont you wish this could happen with the yankees oh wait it cant because are fans are a lot smarter hahahahaha

  • Yeah fuck bartman. And fuck people who say that was an unplayable ball. He did interfer, he did fuck up the catch, though he didn't deserve what he got.

  • Cubs suck anyway....GO REDS

  • This is where sports goes overboard. It's okay to be passionate, but to ruin a person's life over a foul ball? Ridiculous. Bartman wasn't the one being paid the millions either.

  • Poor guy

  • Cubs fans really showed what idiotic, barbaric, classless, ignorant fucks they are. They did nothing but scapegoat this guy. A team full of highly OVERPAID fucking multi-millionaires who couldn't couldn't bounce back from one mishap on a foul ball and get one fucking out to end the game. Don't blame the error that the shortstop made, don't blame the pitcher that set the Marlins bats on fire, blame this one guy who did what 10 other fans around him and anyone else in the park would've done.

  • I remember this, He got Death threats, wow, just tells you something about cub fans, not only do the cubs suck, but so do the fans..

  • stupid cubs fans should blame their shitty team

  • Im a huge cubs fan, love them. I think it is shitty for the way his life turned out over that ball. He was a quiet guy who loved the cubs and his baseball team. He almost got killed over this incident. It is truly sad, sure I dont like him, but I wouldnt try to kill him over it.

  • and the curse went on

  • Cubs fans should be ashamed of themsleves... get a real life.

How many times has this happened at a other games.

If I was bartman, I would have filed a police report and had charges laid for all the assaults caught on camera.

Sports are just stupid and a waste of my life. Family and friends come first. Who cares who won 10 years ago or the millions athletes make to win.

  • @CanadaguyRudey1 The MASSES are ASSES my friend. Why do you think the Roman leader Pompey said "ohhh, just give them bread and circuses" when his advisors were worried about the masses revolting. He was no dummy. He knew that people are easily entertained and distracted from real issues.

  • Earlier that year at a Cardinals-Cubs game at Busch Stadium, some obnoxious, drunk Cubs fan screamed that the Cubs would win the pennant. I can't believe how close he was to being right.

    GO CARDS!!!

  • Fe'r fuck's sake...I'm glad Bartman caught that ball and "lost" the World Series for the Cubs...Cubs fans are idiotic, cocky shitheads who brag about anything they can brag about. They hide their constant failure w/ their fucking "fan tradition" that means drink so much beer that you have to look up so it doesn't spill, & eat hot-dogs until you get a heart attack while cheering "Go Cubs, Go!" they suck, they suck, and they suck ~ and this is coming from a North Side Chicagoan.

  • fuck what every1 says this man didnt deserve shit...it was an honest mistake and he wasnt the only fan leaning towards the ball..it just happnd to hit off him...besides the cubs blow man meat anyway

  • I find it funny that you call the cubs fans aholes, when in fact if this ever happend to the red sox or yanks. their fans would've done the exact same thing.

  • @jaywiza You are right. If that would have happened in Yankees Stadium or Fenway Park boy oh boy he would catch more than hell. Red Sox fans and Yankees fans aren't nothing nice when it comes to their teams.

  • @jaywiza And that's the only flaw in professional sports...

  • poor bastard

  • @GhettoFilms916 They were mad at him because after 100 years the Billygoat story goat old so they had to come up with a new excuse on why the cubs suck!

  • Moises alou should thank bartman for ever making him revelant, all he was was a guy that peed on his hands.

  • It's not his fault the Cubs gave up 303444445405 runs.

  • 95 years of waiting then, it was just the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • ESPN I DEMAND THAT YOU RELEASE THIS SONG NOW!!

  • From this series, I will always remember the Bartman play, the Alex Gonazlez play, and Kerry Wood's Game 7 home run.

  • C'mon people it has been 8 years.Get over it

  • @GhettoFilms916 Looked at it again. I'm not seeing where you see 3 other fans reaching for it. I counted one fan (in gray sweatshirt) half heartedly reaching for the ball. There's a few hands going up behind bartman but looks more like just a reaction or preparing if the ball bounces their way. Point is that MOST people directly in line with the ball in that scenario would have gotten out of the way.

  • @busarider29 The guy to Steve Bartman's right was going after it too very much. Most people would have done the same thing as both of them did. They didn't even see Alou coming. They were looking up at the ball. And Steve Bartman was listening to the radio on his headphones that has a 7 second delay and he didn't hear that Alou was coming for the ball until afterwards. He didn't think that a player was anywhere near the ball. If he had seen him I'm sure he would have let him make the play.

  • @GhettoFilms916

99% of fans would have done the same thing??? Look at the clip again. Everyone is getting out of the way except Bartman who is the only one reaching for the ball. Die hard fans would get out of the way and let fielder attempt a play on the ball. It's the casual, never-been-to-a-game-before fans that ruin it like Bartman did.

  • Attitude like this the cubs fans don't deserve to win.

  • to bad the cubs suck ass and won't win a world series for another 100 years cause there whole team is a bunch of bitches--GO CARDS!!!!

  • You cant blame Steve if the Cubs were really that good they would of won the world series in the past years which they havnt accomplished

  • this is my fav vid. the piano with the whole incident juss gives me chills. completely bizarre

  • how come every ones hating on steve bartman did, 1 million other people would have done th same freaking thing!

  • The fallout from this "incident" speaks volumes about the fans of Chicago. Alou probably wasn't going to make that catch anyway. But fans were content to ruin this guy's life over one of the biggest non-issues in the history of the game.

  • @dr0be wtf steve was a scape goat if the shortstop from the cubs caught the ball it would hav been a double play but he didn't he let the ball go through his legs and he let the run go but they didn't blame it on the alex they blamed it on steve fuckin cubs they suck and they believe still in superstition

  • Comment removed

  • cubs fans just shut the fuck up. you were already blowing the game anyways haha, i bet 99% of you people would reach and try and catch the ball, its a natural instinct. if a ball is coming straight towards u, your not gunna just let the ball hit u, ull make some kind of movement to defend yourself

  • wtf... he just caused the guy not to catch the ball and there making a huge deal about it. well im not a baseball fan so it prob had bigger meaning

  • @ZepSongz I hate baseball, but the story was after this, the Cubs ended up losing game this game (Game 6) and ultimately losing the championship - thus, he was blamed because if he didn't get it the way, it wouldn't have been a home run, and the Cubs would have won.

  • Just like Phillies fans, Cubs fans are worthless morons. There were other people around him going for the ball, so why does he get blamed for it? Apparently, Cubs fans are too stupid to know which hand is their left and which is their right.

  • Cub fans deserve that curse.

  • you cubs fans are the assholes this poor kid did what 99% of all fans would have done and went for a foul ball that was going towards him and moises alou is a little bitch and he threw a temper tantrum like a two year old and escalated the situation to a point that it never should have gotten to

  • @hokiemiller22 I agree 100% The Cubs fucking sucked, were unprofessional and DIDN'T DESERVE IT!! Neither did their classless thuggish ass fans! Those players are paid a fucking king's ransom and after that single play on a foul ball they couldn't end the inning and stop the Marlins onslaught and get a fucking run in the next inning to secure a win. No way was it this guy's fault. Cubs fans and Chicago media owe this guy an engraved apology for the way they conducted themselves.

  • Everyone else is standing up and he's just sitting down with his headphones on. Poor guy. I feel so bad for him...

  • If only Bartman knew Alou peed on his hands to toughen them up.

  • this doods life is ruined... every single fan who was at that game should appolagize.... fuck this doods life is ruined so bad,,, its the worst... i would say to the fans to go to hell but that doesnt make me a better person... fuck jocks instead... and the media.

  • dayum you chicago cubs fans can be stupid getting mad at each other. hope steve bartman feels better soon. cubs fans go to hell

  • this kid should get killed :D

  • @BlueMafiaBoss failtroll :D

  • @BlueMafiaBoss fuck you! thats why you faggot cubs fans will never win a world series!

  • moises alou gave him the death stare

  • i feel so bad for him...he did what any other fan would do if they saw a ball coming toward them! plus there were other people going to catch the ball to...plus there were some other mistakes made in that game by the players...he really didnt deserve what happen...plus moises alou wouldnt have caught it and the way he was was acting after he didnt get the ball i think had a part in triggering the fans to get upset

  • 1. there was about 5 other people reaching for the ball

    2. the play after the foul ball the shortstop made an error which would have ended the game

3.Moises Alou wouldn't have caught it anyway

4.The cubs wouldn't have one the world series

you cant blame the entire post season on him. What if they one the game before game 7?Steve Bartmans life is wrecked because of a bunch of ass hole cubs fans. He got fired from his job, and had to change his name! Cubs fans don't deserve a world series.

  • i think it would be funny if he had a marlins hat on, and then turned around and flipped them all off

  • How sad how everyone try to attack him, he wasn't the only one trying to catch the ball. He's the one that took the blame for all those other hands! As a baseball fan everyone reaches for the ball.

  • @AppleCrisp233 Our you like retarded so say you were at that game and you see a baseball hit to you and its the first one ever hit your way your telling me you wouldn't try and get it and for that he should be punished. He acted just as any other baseball fan would of done and how's it his fault about the errors in the inning and Prior pitching terribly a.k.a it's not. This guy never asked for any attention from the media was always very respectful and nice but you think he should be punished?

  • people are terrible about this shit, really? throw all of your shit at him, stupid "fans"

  • Just to recap. Steve Bartman is the reason why Pryor walked Castillo despite being ahead in the count. Bartman is further responsible for Gonzalez's error which, instead of ending the inning, loaded the bases. Bartman is also responsible for the eight runs the Cub's allowed in the eighth inning and their inability to score in the ninth. Bartman is also to blame for the Cub's losing all four remaining games in the series. That Steve Bartman is diabolical.

  • @AppleCrisp233 I'm contacting whatever mental institution you hail from and demanding an explanation as to why patients are allowed internet access. Streamwood, riveredge?

  • @jsmith285000 Hey kid, you probbbb should settle down lol. I find this absolutely hilarious how mad ur getting hahahahaha

  • @AppleCrisp233 WHAT THE HELL? You must be a sadistic old man. He just went after a foul ball. If you would have actually watched the movie, you would know that not only did other people go after the ball, but that Alex Gonzales dropped a easy grounder that could have been a double play to end the inning. Where's the hatred toward him? Bartman did nothing wrong as a fan. He just went after a foul ball.

  • He did nothing wrong. Did he make them score 8 runs? I don't think so. Stop arguing and give it a thumbs up.

  • Any other fan would have done the same. Suck it up cub fans and shut up. You would have done the same. Cubs suck and will never win the World Series.

  • Why dont people look for a way to release this hatred and guilt associated with this moment in history? The city of Chicago shold Let Steve Bartman know he's forgiven. Then and maybe only then will this "curse" be put to rest.

  • @deelee05 Nah the curse will only be broken if they give Wrigley Field the same treatment as that ball and blow it up.....

  • A Goat, A Black Cat, Durham & Bartman. Question is: Who's next?

  • i wonder what would have happened if he'd actually cached the ball

  • @bame2435 They would have lost to the Yankees

  • @terrorismtactics i meant steve bartman

  • i think both parties have a valid argument. No.. i dont think bartman deserved what he got. at all. on the other hand.. if you are a big enough fan to be sitting in a seat that is in foul territory where there is nothing in front of you but the playing field, you have to know that the number one rule is slap foul balls away from opposing fielders and to GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY when the home fielders are coming in for a catch. especially in a game of that magnitude.

  • we dont deserve it? shut the fuck up. go cubs.

  • look at all the other fans trying to catch the ball also

  • Lets be honest....we all would have gone for it: 1 its a fucking playoff baseball, 2 are you going to stand there and have a 50/50 shot of getting hit?no 3: Would your mind think that a player has a play on that ball? no I would have done the same thing Bartman did

  • @bio2020

What a fucking immature prick. Grow the fuck up.

  • that ball sold for over 100k and they put it in a pasta sauce. crazy.

  • hey cubs fans the yankees would have kicked your ass anyways!!

  • i feel so sorry for steve bro! give this man a hug

  • if the cubs win a world seris in his life time he should throw the opening day pich the next season

  • @camson107 thats not a good idea. hahah

  • I have no respect for the entire city of Chicago & its media. Shame on u.

  • I <3 Steve Bartman. Cardinals fan for life.

  • FUCK cub fans they dont deserve a title for acting like animals to this guy

  • The Cubs lost that game, not Steve...Eff one foul-Ball out!

  • As a devoted NY Baseball fan and watcher of both leagues and all divisions, I can never say that I have been more embarassed by the fans of the same sport I love. I wasnt paying much attention to baseball for the few years surrounding this incident, but I watched this last night on ESPN and learned of it for the first time. Some of the the behavior of the fans was nauseating, and shame on You Chicago Sun for printing his name, address and job! Unreal!

  • Fuck Chicago and the animals that inhabit the city

  • STEVE BARTMAN- Scapegoat for cubs fans who lay limp and take inept ownership/ management like the bitches they are.

  • wow what a fucking idiot, I hate bartman, these pro bartman comments are so dumb

  • @BestTits they were up 3 to 0 how the fuck is it his fault the cubs blew the lead!!!

  • @SuperAnthony210 he took an out away from the cubs and changed the entire momentum of the game

  • This Laurie Conolly bitch was saying she knew the ball would be worth a lot and she laughed as bartman had a beer spilled on him what an evil bitch she is the one that should be tracked down and shit. She is also a lawyer which shows you something about the legal system in chicago.

  • gonzales lost you the game cub fan not bartman, alou was never know to be a high flyer

  • I hope the cubs never win!!! cubs fans suck!!!

  • cubs suck!

  • When are those idiot Cubs fans gonna learn that it wasn't Bartman's fault!! He wasn't the one initially touched that foul ball. Besides Alou wouldn't have caught it anyway. So stop your whining!!!!!!!!

  • I thought it was a great example of why the Cubs are the Cubs.

  • I laugh at the morons that fall back on the "you would have done the same thing" routine. I can tell you for a fact, that no, I would not have done the same thing. Know what situation you're in, have the awareness to realize that the team you claim to love has a chance to make a play on that ball and get the hell out of the way. Get a grip, nerds.

  • @ironmannar Easy to say on youtube. If you were never in that situation than you don't know for sure.

  • @ironmannar I would say that too if I were trying to prove everyone wrong even though i'm the one bullshiting... heat of the moment u would do the same thing so shut the fuck up bro

  • By the way the guy in the gray shirt is lucky this show isn't about him

  • @wmays600: Your so right, He pointed at Bartman to after that to make everyone think it was his fault.

  • After watching this tonight and seeing this poor guy get beer dumped on him is absurd. I don't Bartman was playing shortstop for the Cubs. It was a mistake we all make them. If I was in his shoes I would've tried to catch the ball we all would have. The Cubs blew it down the stretch and in game 7.

  • Anybody still holding a grudge against Bartman is a loser, and anyone who thinks he was in the wrong is just completely ignorant.... After all it was a foul ball in the stands, any one of u would have tried to take home that souvenir.... Not to mention it wasn't his the Cubs lost, the Cubs lost because they SUCK!!!!! The Cubs just had to hold a 3 run lead for another inning or 2 and they couldn't do it... The players choked on a big one.........

  • WERE CAN A TRUE CUBS FAN WATCH THIS ONLINE? BTW I <3 BARTMAN.. LETS NOT FORGET ALEX GONZALES DOUBLE PLAY THROUGH HIS LEGS TO END THE INNING. BARTMAN <3

  • why would he not let that player catch the ball? he calls himself a cubs fan?

  • @neuman7 like you wouldn't try to catch it if it was that close to you.

  • Comment removed

  • it truly is a tragedy about how this affected steve bartmans life. if alou would have just went back to third base without having an over the top reaction nothing wouldve happened.

  • I'm a huge cubs fan and at the time I was pissed at bartman but over the years what I've seen done to the guy, I just feel awful what he had to go through. It wasn't his fault, and I wish he would come out of hiding and come back to Wrigley Field so that everyone can make him feel welcome again. Where ever you are Steve Bartman come back to Wrigley Field!

  • it's definitely not his fault at all. so its high time to forgive and forget cause it's the cubs fault for chocking.

  • 0:14 is such a sad shot i feel so bad for this guy

  • @camson107 agree.

  • like no players made an error on the field that night. cubs are so pathetic they need to blame a loss on a fan. and cubs fans that harassed this guy your just as pathetic cause if it was you its natural instinct.

  • i dont care if hes hand was in the way or not, cubs suck

  • By the fans reaction, and how cruel those people were too him... I hope the Cubs never ever.. EVER.. win a world series. Those people don't deserve it.

  • @OMLOL4704 it wasnt all of us

  • @lilCaucasian True.. but it was the MAJORITY of the fans.

  • @OMLOL4704 ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE!

  • @OMLOL4704 ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE!

  • @OMLOL4704 thanks for generalizing an entire fan base based on something that happened eight years ago. boston and philly fans are 100x worse btw but you think just by watching some 30 second clip you must know everything right...

  • @fluffynoses Ha.. You're a waste of my time.

  • @OMLOL4704 There's a reason why it's called the Friendly Confines. This accident is just a smear across the entire Cub's fanbase. As a Cubs fan, I can tell you the atmosphere at Wrigley is friendly. But, based off this incident and based off the a-holes who treated Steve like that, I can see why you'd conclude that the fanbase is unworthy.

  • that guy in the grey got mad lucky he's bad at catching!

  • his actions changed the momentum of the game. = his fault….. mostly

  • @MississippiStateFTW you chilling in your moms basement caused Mississippi State to suck every year = your fault for being a cock sucking faggot.

  • @bicmanist I think people that bash others on the internet is the correct definition for you instead of me.

  • saddest moment in sports

  • guys it wasnt only his fault i mean alex gonzalez droped that ball

  • Oh come on the cubs suck no matter how many people get involved. That guy never ruined the game the cubs did cause they suck donkey nuts. GO BREWERS GO BREWERS GO BREWERS.

  • ITS THE CURSE

  • As a Cubs fan, I firmly believe that that play opened the door for all those bad thoughts to come out again. The, "We can't win the big one," thoughts. It was a, "Here we go again," moment. That being said, I feel absolutely horrible for Steve Bartman. It truly was an accident, but now he has to live with that.

  • This was sad, i feel bad for Steve.

  • How about the guy in the gray sweatshirt? He reached for the ball first

  • @jsmith285000 not a cubs fan looks like someone can't read and yes all cubs fans live with their moms and don't have jobs you sound like the smartest human to live we should all worship you (:

  • I'm a Cubs fan and even though I've never been to Chicago that I can remember, I feel like it's my home when I can watch Cubs games on WGN.

The thing is that the reason the Cubs haven't won the world series is because they haven't consistently been good. It doesn't have to do with Steve Bartman. They won three division titles this past decade and have made four playoff appearances in the past 13 years. If they do that going forward, the law of averages says it's going to happen.

  • Comment removed

  • @cougarsrule45 you are a piece of shit like all other cub fans their is no fan base I hate more then the cubs because they tried to blame their fellow fan for a loss and ruin his life. You guys will never win shit its called Karma slut.

  • @bicmanist Hey bro, I'm a Red Sox fan but lay the hell off that guy. He never said anything about it being Steve Bartman's fault... He isn't as ignorant as you. Learn to read comments correctly and stop being a dick please...

  • @HpfllPrideRs I can be a dick because thats how everyone is these days thats why they treated bartman like that you piece of shit so don't tell me what to do faggot.

  • @bicmanist And yet another video that you commented on.. Really Get a Life

  • @92socal yet another video your stalking me on you get a life first douchbag. I saw the video today I'm pumped up about it so if your to slow in other words retarded to talk about the topic then shut up.

  • @bicmanist Your pumped up? You talk shit on every video. Your a troll

  • @bicmanist You are the one being a faggot dear sir.... You think you look tough cussing on the internet. Grow up kid and stop being so immature. Have a nice day kid.

  • @HpfllPrideRs really and you cubs fans think your so tough ganging up on one guy that looked wimpy. You cub fans are the immature ones I'm treating you guys like you treat Bartman and honestly you cry more the Bartman about it and thats sad because I'm only one guy.

  • @bicmanist Im not a damn Cubs fan... Im a Red Sox fan, and the only reason this started is because you talked shit to that one kid, i forget who but you just need to shut your god damn mouth. Get a life and show some respect to people once in a while.

  • @HpfllPrideRs A guy that can't afford a haircut and dresses as wheres Waldo is going to call me a kid HAHAHAHAHAHA dude you look like Bartman you should be glad I'm sticking up for him. Sorry I just insulted Bartman.

  • @bicmanist lol your right that guy does dress like wheres waldo what a weird guy. lol

  • @22sparkdude Thats not me rofl thats my friend. He clearly cant see that i was skyping him so how could that psossibly be me

  • @bicmanist Dude that isn't me dressed as Waldo... Thats my friend as you can clearly see im skyping him. You are the most immature kid I've seen on the internet, go outside and crawl back under your bridge, troll.
