@lglglggl I could see it being used by the Coast Guard or military in an application on their vessels for illuminating the sea at night to look for things.
great law or tactical idea, but really for most people it isn't a needed item, as other cheaper options are there, but its real cool. great for like night time work or something with no power somewhere
@MrJivePirate Pretty much an update to the venerable non-LED searchlight. I'd expect it on choppers, guard posts, possibly boats if it's safe for the wet environment. There's no reason a civilian should have this thing, unless you're a collector with way too much disposable income.
Marshal your boss!! I can't wait to see how this light stacks up at the 100yd tree

What's the battery life like on this? Also, how much noise does that rear fan make?
I'm thinking this might make a decent alternative to an HMI, but if the fan noise is excessive, it's out of the question.

I noticed this light isn't waterproof which should be something to consider for such a high end light. Do you know if the Olight X6 is waterproof?
fufinache 1 month ago
@fufinache Waterproofing would make active cooling (w/ fan) impossible, I think that's why it's non-waterproof.

mastersniper13 1 month ago
@MrJivePirate To light up some shiz! But for real, it is intended as a searchlight. There is not much else out there like it.

@martinaee Haha, yeah. I tried to buy all three, but he wouldn't let me.
goingprepared 1 month ago
@goingprepared ROFL!!!! Aren't they ~5,000 each? You were prepared to spend 15k on those lol? Dayyyyum :)
Are you planning to keep the one you got for yourself or are you going to sell it?
-Side question? Did you or anybody go to the Fenix booth at SHOT 2012? I see no videos for Fenix SHOT 2012.
martinaee 1 month ago
@martinaee $2500 each. I haven't decided on whether or not I will sell the first one.
I didn't make a Fenix video. They weren't there themselves. It was just a distributor at SHOT.
goingprepared 1 month ago
@goingprepared Ah... not as much as I thought. Still pretty pricey lol.
Hopefully Fenix puts out some new lights soon too.
