that was the lightest car in that race(780 kg), 59kg's lighter than the 787B, that and the F1 control arms account for its major success. Less weight means longer tire life
@eaglesdood16 Okay, let's see what would happen if say Porsche or Mercedes decided to take factory entries to Le Mans again? They would get SPANKED. Who is Peugot's main competition these days? A bunch of privateer audi teams and Aston Martin. That's some accomplishment they made beating those guys. I seem to remember all the other teams threatening to leave the sport if Mercedes and Porsche continued to dominate like they did in the 80's and 90's. One last thing, peugot f1 engines...'nuff said.
@HATEtoFeel1 U GOT TO B A REAL IDIOT..THEY WON WRC W CITROEN AND PEUGEOT FOR YEARS...DOMINATING ACTUALLY .AND F1 THE RENAULT ENGINE CARS BEAT EVERYBODY LAST COUPLE OF YEAR!!AND I DONT EVEN LOVE FRENCH,BUT THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A FAST CAR SON
What's so incredible about these cars that it has completed the great "quadrilogy" of Peugeot Sport. 1985&86 - WRC with the 205 T16, '87-88, '89-90 Dakar Rally with the 205 T16 and the 405 T16 (only Mitsubishi has more wins), and then came the Le Mans wins in 1992 and 1993 and the Endurance World Championship win in 1992 with the Peugeot 905. Plus there is the Pikes Peak Hillclimb (1 or 2 times win?) In overall that's 12 Championship/Great Event wins in 9 years in 4 different categories!
The French are great people, And indeed they make the most winners in all kind of car racing in the last 40 years.

"french engineering" - isn't that an oxymoron? Peugot sucks. Hey, just like Renault!

@HATEtoFeel1 you clearly have no clue what success not only this car had, but peugeot as a manufacturer enjoyed in the 80s and 90s...

@HATEtoFeel1 "A bunch of privateer audi teams", that's certainly new information. Even to Audi.
