I'm glad that Terrence Howard who's from Iron Man prefers heath ledger over Robert Downey Jr. for best supporting actor. It shows that just because terrence and robert are in the same movie doesn't mean that Terrence will kiss his co stars ass. I'll be looking forward to Ledger's win for best supporting actor and watch the standing ovation and the speech.

may i also mention that he walked into the set one day with a box of paints and did the make up himself...let alone the six months he spent in his apartment forging this character, his voice, his now iconic laugh, movements etc. surely u can see his skill as well as his dedication and committed work ethic

jacobneill. In my opinion, he really played amazing. He out-acted, so to speak,- what is normally expected in movies from actors. Very rare do you see an amazing performance compared to the usual "good". He absolutely deserved to win the golden globe, I saw all the other nominees movies and Heath was best for sure. Hooray. Ledger deserves a big award thing! And so do all the filmmakers! They've finally portrayed the Joker as what he may well be - just a crazy psychopath. Sure, in the comics there were acid-spewing flowers and the other movies had "creepier" portrayals, but I think this Joker is more realistic, more ground to reality... and that's where they got it right.

I think Jack was trying to be a slightly more scary version of Caesar Romero's Joker from the Adam West Series of Batman. The now "Mayor West" of Quahog has however refused to comment. :D
I do enjoy batman, though I haven't actually been keeping up with the comics all that often. The problem with comics at the moment is it gets confusing. Really fast, especially when they keep ret-conning it.

Hooray. Ledger deserves a big award thing! And so do all the filmmakers! They've finally portrayed the Joker as what he may well be - just a crazy psychopath. Sure, in the comics there were acid-spewing flowers and the other movies had "creepier" portrayals, but I think this Joker is more realistic, more ground to reality... and that's where they got it right.
Also, why does the movie remind me of Die Hard 3?

Was the Joker an Extremist Anarchist or a Criminal or just crazy ? To merely class a person as a terrorist is flippant. George Washington was a terrorist by most measures using that logic. Ledger's Joker ftw because you get a sense that there is a philosophy behind his actions albeit an antisocial one. Villains need a sense of motive beyond "Mwahaha I'm evil" to work.

I do enjoy batman, though I haven't actually been keeping up with the comics all that often. The problem with comics at the moment is it gets confusing. Really fast, especially when they keep ret-conning it.
So I get my Batman fix from the movies at the moment. Which is why I'm so glad they got Nolan in.

I think the dark knight was hyped up a bit more because of heath's death, but the hype was totally worth it. He did an amazing job portraying the joker and i hope that he wins it for his performance and not out of sympathy.
