Havana is majority Mulato and Santiago is too. But if you travel to other cities especially in the West and Central you'll find that they're pred. Euro-Mulato or white descended. Santiago, Granma, and Guantanamo are the only provinces that are pred. African. The whitest areas of Cuba are the country side.

@98zinc most dominicans are mulatto, how are you telling a dominican about what dominicans look like? and yes puerto rico is whiter than dr, but the dr is more diverse because we have alot of people who look more black and just as many people who look more white and in between, while the vast majority of pr's are white skinned. like 25% of dominicans have white skin and could pass form typical boricuas, you have never lived in the dr nor visited most of the country.

@chsn09 Cubans are mixed, white, black. Did you travel there? Well trust me the areas where you most likely travelled are the most afro-descendant because the most tourist ones are. Havana is majority Mulato and Santiago is too. But if you travel to other cities especially in the West and Central you'll find that they're pred. Euro-Mulato or white descended. Santiago, Granma, and Guantanamo are the only provinces that are pred. African. The whitest areas of Cuba are the country side.

@chsn09 Mulatos are the majority but mostly in urban areas and that's why you as a tourist were more acquainted with them. Trust me, I'm mulato and there are many areas in central Cuba where I'm from that I looked real out of place, especially the country sides.

@chsn09 ok cool that we agree, because I feel sometimes the media portrays Cuba as completely mulato (like the DR), rather than acknowledging that both the white & black unmixed populations are very large (which makes sense given cuba's history - Cuba received the largest amount of European immigrants to the Caribbean and was also one of the largest and last slave colonies. And unlike the DR and the PR Cuba was both a plantation and settlement island, plus it had some of the toughest segregation

So it makes sense that there are way more whites but also blacks than both the DR (which has the largest Afro descendant population out of the three but much fewer "unmixed blacks" than Cuba) and PR. & yes, especially in the eastern side of the island - the triracial, zambo & castizo (indigenous influenced) looks are common in the province of granma and areas of guantanamo and rural santiago.
