  • @kevmann92 typically drop B i think others come in E(like bass lV such as gretsch baritones)

  • Nice!!!

  • oooohhh yeahhhh stroke that bitch 1:35

  • what tuning does baratone guitars come in

  • Sweet guitar! But I'm on the rondo music site now and it says it's a solid maple guitar? 0.o

  • @elliotdeware87 They must've changed the specs later on, as this one was definitely Alder :)

  • Drop F? What strings are you using?

  • Looks more like birdseye maple/?

  • did you need to set it up or get it set up? people seem to complain that because of coming out of the factory that the attention on that detail isn't very big

  • cool!! totally the oposite to what i like but so cool

  • @mofokitten Nice guitar, I was thinking of buying that guitar. How long did rondomusic take to send the guitar to you?

  • stunning guitar bro. you have excellent taste, i wouldnt change anything on that guitar

  • hey dude nice axe ! can you tell me if agile has 6 string baritones (bolt on versions) cuz i can't find it on rondomusic & their customs are also neck thru

  • @MA4VA idk about bolt-on's but there is the Agile AL-2800 Baritone. Ive got one and it does not disappoint! Great guitar!

  • How much did this cost you? I see alot of Agiles on eBay but most of them are 7 strings. And the 6 strings all have Floyd Roses.

  • I have purch Agile before. No doubt they are the best bang for the buck. My Agile al series was my favorite guitar out of my whole collection!

  • envy envy envy envy!!!!!!!!!

  • i like poop with melted cheese on top

  • whats the battery for ?

  • @dralacoper active pickups

  • @medude6652 tnx

  • fffffffffffeefefefefefretbord XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Absolutely fantastic! I really like your picking style. Can you tell me what you were playing at 7:12? I love that riff! Sounds familiar? Can you tell me what you are running the POD X3 thru? Very Very Nice! Thanks bro!

  • @AZguitarfreak

it´s just an improvised riff really. it´s a stereotypical 80´s sounding idea, nothing specific. i have since found out that devin townsend has a riff almost exactly like it though, on his synchestra album. that whole album is full of stuff like that, check it out if you haven´t!

my picking style is really the opposite of what it "shold be" for what i play, but i´ve further developed it, and it´s just how i pick now. no turning back! :P

  • @mofokitten So you wouldn't prefer to PICK another style? *chuckles*

  • @mofokitten Hey, I'm thinking about buying this guitar, I have a few questions. Are you still happy with this guitar? What gauge of strings are you using now? Do you ever have problems tuning it? I'm thinking of substituting this for my 8 string guitar as I find the thickness of the neck to be a problem for my wrist. I'm thinking that the 28" scale will be a good solution, but I'm a little unsure of how the bridge would feel, any personal info would be great, thanks!

  • lets drop it to F, you may as well go to z

  • dud dont put on the ground

  • Wow, Id never expect a 6 string model to handle 8 string tuning so well. I guess its the 28" scale. Really good sustain too, especially with those lead samples you played.

  • That guitar finish is MEAN GREEN!!!!! \m/ \m/

Awesome tone and awesome playing!!!! :D

  • Very nice man

Could you explain what a barotone guitar is

    Thanks, Marty

  • @MartyLoganguitar

you should start using google and investigative skills instead of asking random people.

basically a baritone guitar has a longer scale length (the length of he string between bridge and saddle, as well as a longer neck and slightly longer spaces between frets). this makes them sound clearer, and lets them intonate more perfecly, as well as letting them intonate at much lower tunings (up to an octave down)

  • @mofokitten Well sorry for asking :P

    Cheers for explaining

  • @mofokitten or you could not be a dick and help random ppl out without telling them to use google :)

  • @xtreflip

i´m not being a dick, i´m just letting him know that there is a huge amount of information on the subject, and the answer to his question is out there in technical detail. i´m just a guitar player that has one. i´m not the guy to ask for information on the subject.

i never ask people about things if i haven´t tried finding out myself, and i think that´s what people need to do. always try to find out yourself.

  • @mofokitten no im fairly certain youre being a dick. why wouldnt you be an expert on the subject? you bought the fucking guitar. typical eurotrash. oh well, what do you expect from some 17 year old cumstain. good luck with your chinese piece of shit copy of another chinese piece of shit (ibanez). ill sit here and rock my les paul custom tonight and think of your green garbage.

  • @melonheed3 17 year old cumstain? i'm sorry you feel that badly about yourself, i'm sure you're not THAT bad of a person! In fact, i'm sure your fierce sense of entitlement to other people's time and attention is totally justified, and will get you far in life, just like your trolling skills.

    good day, sir!

  • WHAT GEAR U USIN? amp? effects? multi effects? that sounds epic

  • @CoolParkourName

    it´s a pod X3 Live

  • im wondering how stretched out your arms are at the first fret.i have an arm length like a basketball player an want to get this guitar so i dont look like im holding a toy guitar when i play

  • @TheHatChannel

can you play a bass? if so, you have like twice the amount needed. most people that tried it never knew it was a baritone, and still didn´t understand that it was really longer until we compared it next to a standard guitar.

  • dang, that sounds pretty deadly. my current guitar can't even handle a car ride atm, so that'll have to change. btw, is that thing alright on drop c? i don't think it'd be necessary to go down an octave, but i was just wondering if the strig tension would be too much

  • @Scarbak123 you can keep it in E standard if you want, dude. it´s not like you can´t tune it higher, you just get tighter overall strings than you would with the same strings and tuning on a regular guitar.

  • how well does that thing stay in tune?

  • @Scarbak123 very well, actually! it´s got a graphite "tusq" nut, so no unwanted friction that makes it pop out of tune and gross stuff. stays in tune for extended periods of time.

an example: i brought it with me on a plane, then left it in a corner in it´s case for a month or so, and it was perfectly in tune when i picked it back up. cool, huh?

  • awesome guitar i wanna get one for playing chevelle covers lol, nice playing

p.s. you kinda look like billy corgan, which is awesome

  • youre like a cross between a lion and a monkey

  • @guitarlord247 ROFLMFAO i thought the exact same thing!!!!!!!

  • @CobaltSpieder777 hahaha

  • what makes a baritone guitar different than a regular guitar(non-baritone) building wise?

  • @Warriorboss14 the scale length is longer. in other words, the distance from the bridge to the nut (the playing length of the string) is longer. if you look at a bass and a guitar, and look away from the string size and number of strings, the only real difference in function is the length of the string. look at bowed instruments. they all have different string lengths for different pitch ranges.

  • Really juicy maaan! Nice tone. Kinda Meshuggah I guess ;) Stay heavy! ;p

  • Damn i almost got one of these...kinda regret it D:

  • wat pick ups?

  • You could easily fit another! Humbucker in the middle.

  • Man where the fuck did you buy this!

  • @SoundOfAShark Rondo Music

  • @MajorImpact Can't find it on there.

But i found some nice 8 strings ;)

  • @SoundOfAShark

When something is out of stock at Rondo they take it off the website, so you never know if something has been discontinued or is only out of stock. Kind of odd, but that's what they do. You just have to keep checking.

  • That is a freakin' sweet guitar! :)

  • AMERICAN ME plays 12-70 strings. The only thing the guitaring missed was some sick Squeels!

  • damn thats looks awesome and it sounds awesome aswell

  • I'm noticing a lot of the good guitarists on youtube use Agiles, I'd get one, but I'm a very small person, don't know how well I'd adjust to the size. Also the nicer Agiles I wanted are a bit expensive for a high schooler.

  • the reason agiles are popular is because they are cheap and look nice :P

they make normal sized guitars too, dude, no need to get a baritone. they even have smaller vintage-scale ones, like gibsons.

no reason to get an agile just because it´s an agile though. ibanez and ltd have great stuff for a good price too

  • I forgot to ask, what size strings did it come with?

  • a .65-.13 set or something along those lines. i later switched it out for a .56 set, then a .52 set, which i liked better.

  • Cool, I use .10-.52s and I really like them.

  • Scandinavian accents sometimes sound English. Anyways, this looks really sweet.

  • is ur pod connected to speakers or an amp

  • it´s the hi-fi system you see right behind me there. it´s connected with a digital SPDIF cable.

didn´t have an amp at home at the time, it was in the rehearsal space.

  • hey, nice vid, sounds amazing, i just ordered my Ab-3000 Tribal blue, can't wait! Glad you liked your baritone while you had it

  • i got an 8 string, and so i really don't have any use for it anymore.

  • the only "rehearsed" thing in the video is the part near the end, which was a song from my band at the time. the part you're talking from was inspired by Vai though. i had watched him play some 7 string stuff just earlier, and it's the same kind of idea going on.

    the guitar is sold already.

  • Damn, looking at before you showed the headstock, I thought it was a Schecter. That is a really nice looking guitar.

  • it handles it pretty damn good, as long as you use large enough strings (about a .74 for F, depending on what you like).

  • may i ask what effect your using in the lead section starting at 6:22 ? it sounds really wicked, kinda wana use it for myself :P

  • it's just an octave fuzz. it's an old effect, so you can get octave fuzz pedals of varying quality and tone all over the place.

  • cool, thanx dude, i appreciate it, ive been looking all over to see what that effect was.

  • that is not a set neck

  • really? it´s a neck that is glued into a neck pocket, so yes. it IS a set neck. i´m guessing you were expecting it to look like a gibson-style set neck, but this is actually just carved into a comfortable neck heel, unlike the lumpy old fashioned ones.

it´s definitely not a neck-through either. you can see where the neck wood ends and the body wood starts through the finish.

  • Any opinions on a good baritone guitar dealer? I'm waiting to get my fingers over a lovely baritone so I can hear it drone in that lovely octave tuning.

Who was the artist at the end?

  • the artist in the end was my band at the time when i made this video. i´m not in it anymore though. they´re still active though. Thyron is the name of the band.

i´m assuming you want to do metal, since you´re replying to this vid. i´d tell you to go for the more metal brands, like ESP/LTD. they have some pretty decent baritones, with EMG pickups and all. Schecter does baritones too, though they aren´t as long scale.

  • I'll definitely check out Thyron. Sounded fairly decent.

I'm looking to tune down as low as E - D (likely that it will be lower) in the octave below. I've been looking for some baritones by ESP and Ibanez, although I can't find any links or prices...

    Thanks though.

  • you need something that is AT LEAST 28" scale. that´s the bare minimum for E tuning. 30" scale would be ideal. it´s a bit of a tough nut, since there aren´t many guitars being produced that are like that, and the few that are, are usually vintage style guitars.

there are some Agile guitars that could do that. they have a 30" scale 7 string guitar, and that´s pretty much perfect for those tunings. i would also look for a used OLP silhouette baritone too.

  • 6:30 thats sick! i never heard a guitar that screams like that, what does the magic on this thing? oO please reply! is the bridge pickup screwed higher or what?

  • that was my lead tone at the time, and i specifically wanted it to sound odd and "screaming" in a literal sense. the trick is, believe it or not, an octave fuzz effect a la jimi hendrix. it´s designed to have an octave scream sound like that. there are TONS of different octave fuzz effects out there, so if you want to get that effect yourself, you have plenty of things to choose from (and beware that this isn´t a pitch shifter, but a fuzz).

  • I always wondered, if you sand down a quilted maple guitar, would the wood be quilted?

  • yup! that´s the figuring of the raw wood.

  • That would be beautiful. But the original finish is too sexy, I couldn't bring myself to touch it with sand paper. BTW, your tone is amazing.

  • do a google search for "Yamaha TRB1004" if you want to see an instrument with a quilted maple top and no colour (totally natural finish). it´s the first thing i found that was easy to search, but there are tons of guitars and basses with natural quilted/flamed maple tops out there :)

  • Yeah I've seen a few of them before, I just didn't know if it was the paint that made the quilted look or not. But it is definitely beautiful. I'm buying the 8 string Agile in a month or so. Something about playing 8 strings just makes you feel like a body builder or something xD.

  • Say I want to take a baritone guitar and tune it to normal EADGBE, will it sound anywhere the same?

Besides the technical differences like size, what is different between the sounds of a typical guitar and a baritone?

  • well, it´ll sound alot tighter, since the overtones and fundamental frequencies are much clearer. basically, note definition in chords will increase greatly. it´s hard to explain, but it´ll sound much much more "in tune" and pure. intonation is alot more accurate and dead-on, because of the much larger intonation range.

the sound will also be more "hi-fi", with more high end and low end presence. you could compare a standard guitar with a bass (both unplugged) to hear the natural difference.

  • Cool, that enlightens me greatly. Now, on an unclean setting like an insane distortion, will it be more clear than a guitar still?

  • it´ll stil sound like a guitar with and without distortion, but it´ll have this "impossibly clear" edge to it. go to my profile on youtube and check out my 8 string video. i play some clean stuff with that in the video. that guitar has a 30" scale, and is a "super-baritone" if you will.

  • Cool, one last thing to bother you with, does a baritone guitar use a different amp than a guitar, or will any old guitar amp work?

  • any amp or gear will do. it´s just a guitar with a longer neck, that´s all.

  • i need to try a baritone. does it feel like a normal 25.5 scale?

  • well, by nature it will feel bigger. this guitar is 28" scale. the typical baritone scale is 27" scale. also, the "classical/vintage" baritone scale is 30" scale.

you won´t have any problems playing it if you make your own stuff, or just play around by improvising. you´ll automatically adjust, and play what you can accordingly.

if you like to cover other bands, you might have problems. if a song is challenging, and it´s written on a 25.5" scale, it´ll be even more challenging.

  • Hey dude, great guitar and great playing, I myself planning on getting a 27" 7string or an ab3500 (at the moment i play 7s exclusively)

I was just curious about your rig, do you have your pod plugged into an amp with clean channel, or do you play it thru some audio monitors or some other sound system? I can't quite tell what's that at 3:20

  • thanks, man! being a lover of 7 and 8 strings, i´d say go for the 7 string. depending on which tuning you´re after of course. i believe all 7 strings should be at least 27" scale. my 8 string is 30" scale, and i love it!

in the video i had the pod hooked up to my hi-fi system. my "live rig" is a stereo power amp and a stereo Rivera 2X12 cab with V30 speakers. i usually just play through my studio monitors though, since i´m mostly just recording nowadays.

  • how much did that cost?

  • check rondomusic (dot) com, they have some baritones up there again now. quite affordable, to say the least.

  • you need a amplifier

  • i have one. didn´t have it at home when i made the video.

  • you're hardcore

  • I fucking love the part from 7:33 to 7:50 !

Is it from you ? Or you found the tabs on the webs ? If you do, can you link it please !? Really Nice guitar ! I hesitate between this one, and the Agile Interceptor.

  • that´s just improvisation, dude. most of this stuff is just random improvised stuff. just look at where i´m playing according to the dots on the fretboard, and work it out yourself ;)

i´d go for a baritone septor 7 string (septor has fixed bridge, interceptor has tremolo) if i were you, but if you want a 6 string instead, they have just gotten new ones of this guitar. they have a cheaper version too, which is available in satin black, and has a bolt-on neck. it looks really nice!

  • if you get a fixed bridge your going to limit what you can play

  • What do you mean by that?

  • he didnt have one in the video

  • at like 2:50 you scratched your guitar on the deck! moron! should have showed us the guitar on the case, not the desk lol

  • dude, there weren´t and still aren´t any scratches on the part that touched the deck. why is everyone so hung up on it? and it´s my guitar, so i´ll do exactly as i please with it. it´s not like it was an expencive instrument either :P

  • When I said it, it was like $700 or something, that's a good amount to waste, I guess it was dust though if there's nothing there, that or pollen.

  • Mofokitten. where the fuck is your drop-e/attempt drop-d vid?

You need to come to the dark side of the force. The lower octave. I have my Ibanex eightstring down to a well-gauged drop-A2, thanks to my new .160 low B! It is fucking awesome!

Once I get my shit back from Texas, cameras included, i will upload many vids.

I am still wanting to hear others' tones for lower tunings. Make me that vid.

  • hah, relax man! i´m getting a neq pickup and some good strings for the 8 string, and i´ll make a video when i´ve gotten it setup by a tech. having some fret buzz and the action is a little higher than i like. i tried giving you some links for sound clips, but youtube doesn´t like that much :P

  • yo man i have a big Q can i play this guitar in e standered and 1 will the string's break easy 2 will the tention be super super high

  • use standard light strings, and you´ll be just fine.

.42-.09 will be perfect. i´ve tried it, and can confirm that it sounds awesome as hell on baritone guitars. the tension isn´t that much higher, but it feels more "steady and stable" if that makes any sense.

    go for it, man!

  • yo thx that is kind of what i was thinking so thx that helped allot man and yea i use the 42-09 super slinky's so yea thx..

  • Awesome guitar I'm getting an Agile Interceptor Pro, What settings do you use for your pod if you don't mind me asking. Nice playing btw!

  • i´ve usually used the Big Bottom amp model, and the boost+EQ thingy. now i´ve started using the treadplate dual amp model with the screamer in front. i´m not entirely settled though, but i like it pretty much. also, the Bomber Uber model is really nice if you use the boost+EQ in front of it.

  • nice pants XD

  • i wasnt putting u down or nutthing nice guitar by the way im about to get a dean dime bolt its like 1100 not to bad

  • how long have u been playing i get a new guitar every year im up to 9 guitars.i play dean razorbackes you play realy scratchy with that pick they have a pick u should try its a rubber galloping pic for like what u were playing its for like major chugging they work u should try it

  • i've only been playing for a few years, and i only started doing the triplets and faster stuff like a year ago, so i'm getting better as time goes by. just you wait and see :P

  • Lol drop F thats like an 8 string tuning on a 6 string.

  • then what do you make of the typical baritone tuned E-E standard an octave down, like a bass? they use those in country music! :P

i have an 8 string on the way, so look out for that video ;)

  • Oooohhhhh my bad I thought it was a typical 6 string.

  • I am certain that you can pull of drop-E (which BTW is not an octave down, drop-D is) on this Agile.

And when you get that eightstring, I plan on hearing you go drop-D2 or possibly lower. =)

  • the E is an octave below the regular E though, which is what i mean by that :P

i´ve gotten the intrepid now (yesterday), and i´ve recorded a clip in drop E. works pretty well, but the stock strings aren´t going to hold up that well in anything lower. if i get a .75 on there, it´ll be just fantastic. i did put it in low B though, and it did work, even if it was loose and buzzy. D sounds okay, and E works. it´s perfect in F standard, i think (tension-wise). i´ll make a vid soon!

  • I have done F-Standard and drop-E on a sixstring standard guitar. You can go down pretty damn low on baritone sixes..I am at drop-D2 and can do a not too-too-slacky drop-C2. On my sevens I often do drop-D2, a well-gauged drop-C2 and have gone way down to Bb2-Standard for a mix of Meshuggah's Spasm. However this did not work very well, and I still have a tad-too thin gauges on my eightstring baritone, in which I also have intonation issues, which will have me working on it again.

  • nice how much was it might get one myself

  • Sick guitar!

  • I got mine yesterday and Im afraid to touch it =S

  • Todays my new guitar day

  • Dude can u still get this guitar? If so.. where can i get it from?

  • im getting a new guitar tommorow

  • yo sick guitar, i may be purchasing one of these....i can't deside between the baritone or the standard ag 3000. i play low tunings so the baritone would be ideal but my hands aren't really that big...i've never tried a baritone before so i don't know how i would be able to play it because of my smaller hands....should i go with this or just the standard ag

  • i just got a new one tooo !!

  • so what gauge strings would you recomend for a baritone guitar in drop B/C# standard?

    awesome review/playing

  • i tried a .46 set for C, and it´s okay if you don´t mind your strings being a little loose. .52 will work very nicely, but the highest strings might be a little tight, so i´d look for a set with thinner highs and thicker lows. a .52-.10 or .52-.09 set would rock in that tuning.

i might be wrong though, as i haven´t tried .52 in that tuning before. i+ve only tried it in B and lower, and it works fine all the way down to A, and still keeps it up at Ab :)

    also, thanks :)

  • whats the biggest strings can you put on that baritone?

  • not counting the tuners, i think it´d start getting rediculous at around .100 gauge. i´m planning on getting a .80 gauge for low F though, and i´ve heard about that working out just fine. i´ve got a .70 on there right now, and it works totally fine. the only limits are the bridge saddle slots, the string-through hole sizes, and the overall size-length ratio of the string. you can always file the nut slots and unwrap the string ends to fit the tuners.

  • Just try slappin on some fuckn bass strings. lol

  • Whoa, looks sweet. Extremely low tuning, not for me.

  • it's not for most people :P

the common response from people is "why don't you just play a bass?"

as if it sounds the same :P

  • I like C tuning, in band we play in D. But I can't agree with that 'common response' - it's not the same! :]

  • exactly! that´s what i tell people, but when someone´s used to the sentiment that a strat or tele can do EVERYTHING, and there are strict rules for which roles guitars and bass should play, then there´s not much you can do...

  • Guys tell me plz, Im planing to buy baritone Ibanez, 27 inch scale. But... i will you it in Drop C, in future maybe low. Iheard that it's hard to do pinch harmonics (Squealies) al longer scale. What about string tension at baritoen in drop C, probably i will have to yous 9...52/54 ?

    Thx for any help :)

  • a standard .52 set will do you just fine really, it´ll be a teeny bit tighter in tension than a normal guitar, but not as much tighter as 28" scale. it´ll also sound awesome :)

the only problem with pinch harmonics on longer scales, is that the different "squeals" are found on different parts of the string than on a shorter scale. that´s just because the string length is longer. it´ll sound good, as long as your pickups do ;)

  • What is a baritone anyways?

  • well, imagine a bass guitar: in order to get the strings tight enough at those low tunings, you need to make the "scale length", meaning the length of the string from bridge to nut, longer. a baritone uses this idea. by making the length of the string a little longer (2.5" longer), you can tune the same way, and get more tension than you would with a standard guitar. it also makes the tone of the instrument change, and you end up with a clearer and brighter sound, with a tighter low end.

  • this clown looks like he just escaped from prison and he can't play at all!!

  • why thanks! it takes one to know one! :)

  • is it possible to tune a baritone to standard with light strings?

  • oh, absolutely! a .42-.9 set should sound awesome in E or D or something like that :)

  • i might be getting the same thing but blue

  • hahaha "three knobs blablablabla!"
