I am really touched by this guy, I love how he seems to be cracking up and laughing in a lot of theses videos. It so great to see him loving life and yet he had every excuse to be miserable. I know very little about him but I am hoping what I see is the whole story. Wow is he amazing.!!!
With pretty much any other artist/band you listen to... you just hear the music. With Jeff, his "disability" allowed him to play in such a way that forced you to literally FEEL the music, as I'm sure he did... R.I.P., and God bless, Jeff.
If listening to Jeff play or sing doesn't give you chills then you don't have a soul. Very few musicians can project such emotion into their music as he did. With the music that is out there these days (and don't get me wrong there is some good stuff), it comforted me to find out that my two high school age children both have some Healey on their IPods. Thanks Jeff!
If all this guy had was that rich, soulful voice, that would have been enough to front any band. The truth is that he wrote some great song, and played guitar quite unlike anyone else. His "All Along The Watchtower" still makes me tingle from head to toe, though I've heard it a thousand times now.
@CARFRL35 - Not underrated by those of who play and know how we still have to go. The man was amazing but he never hit EVH/Rhoads/Clapton status and popularity.
A great musician who inspired many. I agree this man and his music should have been more reconized. I know the people who do know his music fully appreciates it. rip Jeff your legacy will always live on. I know it will for me!!!!
Bravo! Fabulous video. I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff and his band at one their shows in the late 80s or early 90s. He was a very nice guy and a tremendous talent.
A very sad thing for this guy to have passed! Truly a musical legend gone before his time! I hope everyone is inspired by his music because he was by far one of the greatest! You are missed Jeff and your music lives on!!!!
Dianna, the best tribute for this man and everyone else that's gone on to the other side is to never, ever forget them!
Folks like Jimi, Stevie Ray, Albert Collins, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, etc, will always be around as long as new generations are show their art by others!
I recently learned of the existance of Jeff Healy... too late it seems.. i have been listening to that guy since then.,. he was the greatest guitarist , artist i have ever seen.. Yeah what a loss for this world.. but at least he did what he loved for the time he was on this planet... i hope someday they will give him the tribute he deserves..
I was lucky to see Jeff early in his career just after he broke big. I would have loved to see him just before his passing. The thing about jeff was he could play like everyone else and nobody could play like him. This is the true measure of a great guitartist. Sure Jeff could'nt see his guitar. He didn't have to, he felt it.His voice command and virtuoso guitar work makes him the greatest. I have seen almost all of the great guitarists in rock and blues since 67. Jeff had no equal.
The first guitarists solo is a lot cleaner, but then again jeff's is equal if not better in it's sound and style. The best part about Jeff is he achieved so much when he was given so little. Not many people can say they can play as well as him least of all play being blind.
When I learned of his passing I realised that life is so short, those moments in which he played solo are among the peak experiences we all search for. His peaks I am so grateful for.
one of the most underrated guitarists and singers PERIOD. never got the respect he deserves, the guy played better blind then most of us with sight. r.i.p jeff
Jeff....your music is still a true inspiration, gone way to soon sadly. Music these days is getting worse and all our heroes are ageing. One thing however is that in 50 years time, this music will still feel to me the way it does now.
@SkynyrdMan77 Oh please say it isn't so... our parents used to say that about rock n roll when it first was born. Music changes, so does the world. Nothing is static. But that's what makes it grand. The new generation thinks music is just fine, just as we did. And you know what, that's okay. The next guitar hero is just around the corner. If they were common, they wouldn't be heroes.
This captured the essence of Jeff.Such talent cut short.I'm sure God has got another Amazing guitarist in his band. Thanks Jeff for all the great music you left us!Our lives have been enriched by your great musicianship.God bless!
@jackHNv Jeff passed away a few weeks before the release of this album and his birthday. Jeff was very talented like SRV and they're music still lives on as long as we continue to follow their style of music. Jeff and SRV were too young to be taken from this earth. I'm sure Jeff and Stevie will be jammin up there together and that their music will be as well appreciated as it was down here. RIP Jeff and SRV
@bluesrockfanatic Yes i have this belive myself that they still playing up there!! Ill miss them both. It feeels like my heart bleeds! But we are lucky that their music lives on!!
The day after his departure, I went in may bar which is usually attented by a crazy-for-blues crew, and when the barman, a friend, told me what happened we gazed each other and an unsuppressible sense of emptyness surrounded us. One of the greatest left us abruptly that day...hear his final solo ..he captures and reinvents the powerness of love, N.Young style, and that sound frightens and strokes your soul......RIP JEFF. I MISS YOU
I also met him for a brief moment myself. He was very friendly. He also had a great sense of humor. He told us while he was on the stage here in TN, he had to learn 2 new words for Tn folks,"HELL YEAH" and "Y'ALL":) He also stated he could hear us just counld'nt see us we were too damn far. then he said, "well come to think of it I cant see sh**"! He was soooo funny. He kept us laughin. And MY GOD HE JAMMED HIS ASS OFF!!! Sorry my post was so long, I just wanted to share that. RIP Jeff.
Wow Jeff Healey, he was so underrated even in his prime. I met him about twelve years ago, he was one of the nicest and friendliest people i've ever met. So called musicians today don't have a 50th of the heart and soul or talent he had. RIP buddy
Wow what bombshell,I did'nt know Jeff is gone . As I sit here weeping listening to this song wishing I could of seen Jeff live. I don't understand why all my favorites are gone. i just get sick when i think of our lost masters like gallagher, healey, reed. atkins, buchanan, hendrix, bloomfield...
when we ever get over the fact that we think that we are really good, and realize humble phenoms like healey are in such another world, and rightly so. damn, he actually looked like he was having a great time, sans any hint of arrogance. what a full life he seemed to live without sight.
The essence of perfection. His sweet infectious zest for life was evident in just about everything he ever did. He was full of many captivating & charming surprises in his many musical endeavours.
It's over a year ago since Jeff Healey left us and this video is a moving tribute to one of the worlds gifted artists whose life was taken way too soon. RIP Jeff Healey
I really miss him! I got my first kiss (and all I expected) while listening to his version of "blue Jean Blues" in `89. He still is my musical hero. Jeff, your music makes you stay alive!
Love it. Miss this hero of a man. His big heart reminds me of my sis and my bro.. and I have not been able to say that before. Thanks for this! Jeff is still here, for sure.

The essence of perfection. His sweet infectious zest for life was evident in just about everything he ever did. He was full of many captivating & charming surprises in his many musical endeavours.

Love the part around the 4:50 mark where he is dancing. His smile and laugh are so fantastic!!
Miss the man but the music will always live on.

Jeff is a legend now. I miss him so much and just can't believe he's not playing for us anymore... but his music and soul live forever!

Thank you for sharing this!
Jeff was an amazing guitarist. I am glad I had a chance to see him several times. I made a trip to Toronto just to see the outside of his club.
Never got the chance to see him play there. That..... I wish I made happen.

My favourtie song of all time played by my favourite guitarist.
Didn't think anyone but Neil Young could do this justice, but he pullls it off! Brilliant.
