I Swapped the 4558D opamp for a A2604 and I noticed a drastic change in tone and volume and doesn't sound as brittle as I believed it to be with the original and even sounds tubey.
Id like to know if this is happening or its just my expectation I had for the sound to change.
Nothing wrong as such. I think G1R meant Ed mustn't have paid much attention at the very beginning of this vid where the gear used to demo this pedal was mentioned.
I bought this pedal today, but didn't get a booklet with it, so can someone tell me how the power supply works. Is it like the crunch box that you can use up to 20 volts or whatever? and is it negative polarity like boss pedals?
Woooo! Listen to how fat and warm that thing sounds, I can only imagine how great it sounds live. My lord that's a great pedal. The way you described the pedal at the intro was perfect, for those who don't get enough out of a Tube Screamer is what I'm hearing.
have you guys tried this with a more modern, hi gain amp, and a guitar with humbuckers? i bought a keeley moded ts9 to push my mesa mark iv and give it a little more of a tighter high gain, but it just compressed it too much and added more "hair" on the top end. it's also too muddy when i try and compensate with the tone nob and overall not transparent enough. this pedal however seams pretty transparent but how can i tell with humbuckers and a class a/b amp? what do you think? thanks!
This is a redo with our better recording equipment. The older videos didn't give a true representation of how these pedals sounded. You'll hear more low end and natural room tone with this version. We are slowly chipping away and the older batch of vids. Enjoy,
hi! is there a difference between this smaller one ant the large one (sound-wise)? thanx in advance PGS, more power!

I personally prefer the blues pro, cuz it vets the low and the higher gain tones + it's a fuzz as well

Why would you want modern equipment for a pedal that is giving a great vintage sound??
I'd go tiny terror head and 1x 12" celestion cab.
Phrix0s 3 years ago
can it be powered by battery?
bopper560 3 years ago
Yes, it can use a 9v battery or AC adaptor up to 25v, for more headroom!
