  • I don't see how someone uses a calling card to call someone and not say anything. I mean those calling cards are like 20 digits plus the number you dial. Someone else had to do it for her. I mean if she could use the calling card she could have dial 911.

  • What kind of person sees someone saying "help me" and does nothing about it. I mean it takes 5 minutes to call 911.

  • The father says ''Dirtbag'' well check out ''Dirtbag112'' (which is the road her car was found on) and look at what a fucked up man he is. 8 years from her going missing he posted a video of him laughing slowly an maniacly to slow piano song at the end of video it comes up with caption ''Happy Anniversary'' The man needs to be investigated ASAP

  • @TylerVanner I meant so say ''Dirtbag112'' Youtube account before it gets removed

  • @TylerVanner

    It's a piece, not a 'song'.

  • OMG i don't mean to keep posting but those cops are SO FULL OF SHYTE!

  • total bullshit about that witness saying she saw her at a gas station. THOSE PLACES HAVE CAMERAS FFS! everything is so sad in this case, no one bothered to follow up on anything, that poor girl. if taht witness really saw her, why not call the pigs and ask them to look at the security camera??? stupid witness+ stupid cops= dead girl.

  • @MyGwendel Wow, I'm sure you would be an much better cop. KIDDING. STFU.

  • wow, never go to NH, all kinds of shit can happen to you and those cops won't do jack shit. if i was a killer i'd put that town at the top of my vacation list. the town seal should say 'Get Away With Murder, We Don't Give Fuck!"

  • It seemed she just wanted to get away for the weekend. She brought her books and didn't try to hide her actions. I think she walked away from her car after the crash because she didn't want to get a DUI. She began walking along the road and got abducted at the point where the police dog lost her scent. Someone local person (s) took her or a someone travels that route regularly. I believe that last whimper call to her boyfriend was her last.

Her father should hire a P.I.

  • Maybe Aliens abducted her, Im sure thats exactly what happend to her. i bet theres no cellphone signals on other planets.

  • I feel sorry for her father as well. I just wanted to hug him. This whole thing just makes me sad.

  • Strange case ... It was clear that she was planning to leave for a week and not tell others about it for some reason, but what happened after that? She's obviously dead by now, anything could've happened to her between her leaving and when that bus driver saw her, but what was the initial reason she left? Whoever knows something should say something, I wish it were me who could help this.

  • I liked the reporter Maribeth conway!

  • I just wonder if the bus driver who called the police about seeing her accident had been investigated thoroughly and cleared of any connection with her disappearance. Strange that police came after just 10 minutes of the driver's report and police were on the scene and she's gone or just vanished. Could the bus driver have something to do with her disappearance even before he reported it??? Just a thought, as there was no mention about him being questioned.....hmmm

  • @rinarover4 good point

  • People who kill themselves don't always leave a note/letter. I still wanna know what was she so upset about when she called her boyfriend at 4:49 am. That was never explained.

  • @dickliscious I googled this and found a blog. Her boyfriend had cheated on her; the police found a letter that was laying on top of some boxes in her dorm. Maybe that can explain the call.

    mauramurray.blogspot.com

  • Her family and friends seem prettt naive. Something was wrong with maura. Calls bf 4:49 upset. Wrecks car. Lies about death in family. Goes to NH tells no one. Buys large amount of alcohol. Wrecks 2nd time. Dead of winter only clothes in her car are workout clothes. Strange voicemail on bf phone.

  • Hold up. Why didn't this girl yell/sceam/kick/bite/bust out the car windows etc... Do something to get peoples attention. FUCK MOUTHING THE WORDS HELP ME! YELL THAT SHIT OUT!

  • @dickliscious I think that was a mistaken sighting. Although a very pretty girl, Maura was fairly "generic" looking. You're right ~ why would she willingly walk into a store with her kidnapper & mouth the words "help me"? I would have gone nuts in there. A kidnapper does not take his victim into a store. I don't believe for a minute that it was actually her. People love reporting "sightings". That girl is dead & my heart breaks for her beautiful dad & the many people who loved her. Not knowing,

  • GOD BLESS MOIRA'S FATHER. May he know he is not alone, prayers and best wishes to him and family.

  • A LOT OF KILLERS STALK PAGES THAT ARE RELEVANT TO THEIR VICTIM.

PLEASE. IF YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO MAURA, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEND AN ANONYMOUS TIP TO THE NH POLICE DEPARTMENT, OR LEAVE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT SOMEONE CAN FIND WITH THE INFORMATION.

HER DAD SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS. PURE TORTURE. IF YOU HAVE ONE SHRED OF DECENCY, PLEASE DO THIS.

  • This episode was really sad. I cried. I believe someone kidnapped her. I believe when she crashed her car she might have been drinking and it was her 2nd car accident in a week and she didn't want her dad to know or police. There is only a 15 minute time span where the bus driver left to call for help and when the police arrived at Maura's car. I think it's like her dad said, she was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I pray to God one day they find her for the dads sake. I don't think he'll

  • What a sad story:( Such a sweet, loving father and Billys mom what a lovely lady. Maura was definately loved. I hope the get answers so they can know:(

  • sadly, she was murdered.g go online and search her name and youll see a ton of updates, very depressing though

  • This is indeed a very disturbing story...it is always sad when any young person full of promise disappears without leaving any traces.I hope that they investigated the sighting of a young woman with an older man allegedly mouthing "help"..how creepy...best wishes for her safe return!

  • as a father of 5 girls.... I completely get the dad's determination....may God help you find Maura.

  • so sad. this girl was lucky to have the best dad ever. god bless him and Maura. xoxo

  • Alien Abduction should not be ruled out.

  • Poor Maura, but what a dedicated and loving father though!!!

  • I wonder her boyfriend decided to move on with his life or he still waiting for her. It is very sad story

  • hope they find her!

  • Have you ever noticed that every missing person story contains testimony from at least one so-called eyewitness who swears on his or her mother's grave to have seen the missing person, alive but confused or distressed, yet stands by and does nothing at the time? Why? Because, dammit, they didn't see a damn thing. They just let their mind get carried away with them long after the fact, when they learn from the media that someone is missing.

  • Someone should investigate the first police officer. Sometimes the most trusted people are the perpetrators. A police officer could have easily had bad intentions and know how to get away with it.

  • I think that she was drinking and driving and was scared of getting in trouble, so she accepted the help from an older man. She was a pretty girl, so it would make sense that the older man that the waitress or whoever that was that said that saw her with her arms folded, was accurate, and he raped and killed her.

  • The law makes me sick to think that maura's own father couldnt even get his records of his daughter,

  • @1stephanieandpaul it may sound sick..but it makes sense!...You cant have anyone access to the evidence gathered. the father asking for FBI to come in seems reasonable....but expecting to Police to assist so he can do his investigation is crazy!

  • This is THE MOST bizzare case I have ever known. It's every bit as baffling as the Mary Celeste, the Carol A. Dearing, and the Joyita. It's so weird. 45 years later the minds of friends and relatives will still be screaming "What happened?! What happened?!" We'll never know.

  • @SuperWunderwaffen The Mary celeste has been solved......google it

  • I don't think that Maura would not contact her father for all these years if she was alive. They seemed to have such a close and special relationship.

  • Some people thinking of suicide can hide this very successfully from people. What on earth happened to Maura? I really hope there is some resolution to this for the sake of her father. All these cases are so haunting and sad. Thanks for uploading.

  • Poor family,poor dad....:(

  • Still have a good holp. You are good father and she have good friends and I will be with you. Amnat Phichedwanichskul Thailand.

  • If she was planning on coming back then why did she pack up her dorm room like she wasn't going to be continuing with school or coming back? I think she walked out into the woods and died from exposure.

  • Amazing Amazing father. I hope he gets his answers real soon, good or bad but he needs to know after such a long time.

  • @kiingAli I totally agree with you. I don't want her to be dead, but the family especially and her friends need some kind of closure. I feel so horrible, especially for her dad, not knowing, that is just the worst.

  • her face has a resemblence to my principal, strange?

but im in the Philippines, possible???

  • Maura was a daughter, a girlfriend, a friend to many, and so obviously loved.

Her disappearance is tragic, just listening to her father breaks my heart.

The phone call Maura's boyfriend received was chilling, as was the witness account of seeing Maura with an older man, and Maura mouthing the words 'Help me'.

I hope Maura's loved ones get their answers, soon. For them, the not knowing is now the worst part of whatever happened to Maura.

  • @Brentsey Report it then..

  • It looks like from those newspaper articles that the Dad had a hard time getting any information from the police.

  • @Brentsey oh ok

  • :(

  • Its just wierd, why did she lie about everything and run away in the first place. Hopefully shes doin ok up this date

  • She's dead there is no way she's alive. I feel bad for her dad.... You see I had suffer from a break up for a girl who never loved me and after watching this I realize I had never suffered a broken heart... This man has ... His daughter .. His best friend .. My heart breaks for this man. I wish I could help find her

  • @Alyssa21099 no

  • What I think: She left for New Hampshire just to stay for a few days. She was disappointed with herself in crashing the car the first time and just needed time alone so she chose a place she had been to before with her dad that was secluded and quiet. When she crashed the car again she didn't want the police involved (having the alcohol in the vehicle) and decided to walk up the road a ways. She got into a seemingly friendly stranger's car and is or was in their custody.

  • sometimes, i wish i never heard this story.

  • shes phsyco and sumone took advantage of her on her way and either die or is alive

  • @ilovebubu28 what??? is she either alive or dead? hahaha no shit sherlock :P

  • she was kidnapped! very sad story

  • According to Wikipedia as of May 2011 this case is still unsolved, with no suspects. :(.

  • @loriann1237 Seriously? Do hey at least have some new evidence? Or anything? If not, that's just sad for the family and friends

  • @Jobrosfanish no new leads last I had heard. It is very sad.

  • @loriann1237 That's just terrible

  • What makes me sick is the police phone her father to inform him trhat his daughter has gone missing and then after her family and friends go all the way up there they help find her as "less" as possible, block them as "much" as possible to get leads on her whereabouts and sit on their butts doing nothing while the family run around doing as much as they can to find her! I bet if they find her (and i pray they find her alive) they will take the credit for it!

  • I agree with the police officer though about the evidence. God forbid they find a suspect and can't convict him because evidence was released to the public and compromised.

  • SICK PPL OUT THEIR

  • Bless her father and family

  • they should get psychic help on this, psychics help police in their investigation, it would give them some answers...get psychic help!

  • @natashkin1 dude, pshychics are real bullshit lmao how can you even believe in that crap? =P

  • @shamkuzi a psychic would probably do more than those lazyass cops did, which was nothing.

  • It seems strange that they say she could have dead out in the woods etc. Well they would still find her body. I know the U.S. is bigger but she would not just disappear. It could not happen in the U.K. as it is just too small there is not an inch of grass that is not walked over all the time. you could not just die and not get noticed.

  • @WillShakespeare2007 in saskatewan canada 356 ppl go missing and there bodies r never found and when they r found there just bones and most times its decades after so its very easy not to be found and the uk is a island so of course it wouldn't happen there very much and the bodies would be found

  • @lastpoet1 - My comment was not very clear now I read it over. I meant in this case there was a small search area so they should have been able to fine the body pretty easily.

I understand if someone went hiking in the U.S. they could disappear and that you guys have bears etc.

I also meant the U.K. has no wilderness left, it's only 50,337 square miles (Florida is 65,795) and has 65 million people. So it is impossible to get lost and not be found.

Do you 356 ppl a year? That is amazing.

  • @WillShakespeare2007 not really in the usa its in the 10's of thousands& in woods its very hard 2 find bodies u usally only find bones if ever found & ya i would guess so about the uk also i believe it was a crime of opportunity cause of what was said and of course they didn't find her cause they used highway cops & not investagators so they don't no what there doin& u heard how they admited they made mistakes cause they should have looked into the call her boyfriend got who no's the woods ect

  • @lastpoet1 - I agree that someone took her and they should have got volunteers to search every inch of the woods until they knew for certain.

We do have thousands go "missing" but not missing in the "wilderness", as there is no wilderness. In England they know that someone either has been taken or wants to be missing - you can't get lost as there are too many people.

Although we did have a very famous rock star here vanish without a trace. That was odd.

  • @WillShakespeare2007 i think they would need a cadaver dog now cause she would be just bones and if buried they wouldn't see her body and i was reading on here that there has been a suspected serial killer known of in that area so they need to look into that and get investagator's to look into that not some traffic cops who don't no the 1st thing about it cause it will be twice as hard now to figure out how this case went, and as 4 the rock star's did they owe money cause because its a island

  • @WillShakespeare2007 the ocean is the perfect hiding spot 4 bodies and no one will find them if there droped off deep enough or cut up they would be fish food and there is so many ways to get rid of bodies like pigs, choping up but when u do chop them up and drop them in a body of water u have to cut out the lungs, put them in cars to be crushed, ect

  • @lastpoet1 - I was not really referring to getting rid of a body but stating that if this case happened in the UK the getting lost in the woods option would be impossible as we do not have anywhere to get lost in.

But I will keep you info in mind if I ever need to get rid of a body, which seems pretty unlikely.

  • @WillShakespeare2007 ya i agree with that u would no more then me and as what i see on the news and tv there isn't much left so there would be much use 4 the criminal element using woods 4 that pupose and u could get seen much easier cause of that fact and like they said in casino u could be there all fucken night lol

  • @WillShakespeare2007 i ment wouldn't be much use

  • haunting...

  • What happened to the West Point boyfriend? They usaully say what happens if someone like the mom is only interviewed to fill in that information. They make it out as if he died or something...

  • I hate to be one of these 'armchair profiler' douchebags, but I believe the father flipped out when Maura crashed the car. I think he yelled and hollered at her and upset her and when he does talk about his conscience, and those moments that haunt him, I think it's because he can go back to his reaction and then place the blame squarely on his shoulders. Which isn't fair to him.

My evidence? Well, yeah, I'm a douche - instinct.

  • I saw something from "unsolved mysteries" and when they said she was in new hampshire i thought that the killer they talked about in unsolved mysteries must be the same man that took Maura. I think that murder is still out there...

  • From my in-stings i can tell she is no-more .she is murdered

  • sad story,, may god bless the father,, great guy

  • This is so fucking sad:(

  • I think its the bus driver that did something to her...

  • @maclaireful I think he took her or knows more then after a while of having Maura they did away with her after strangling her....

  • I think she was freaked she got into an accident while drinking, fled for a hotel, got lost in the woods, and succumbed to the elements.

  • @R0773N precisely

  • Your theory is whacked, it doesn't explain where he committed the crime, the motif is most likely her insurance money, since he's running low on cash.

  • I google this case today too but for a good reason, someone on my facebook knew her and said this was the anniversary of her disappearance. This is a perplexing case.

  • I think the dog got it right. She was probably walking away from her car, probably to a phone after she realized no cell service, when someone pulled up and convinced her to hop in. Again, probably offered to take her to the closest payphone. This would mean one item she would've taken with her was her prepaid phone card.

  • Today is February 9th and I am watching this for the first time for no reason. The same day she disappeared 7 years ago. How uncanny is that?

  • @dirtydonki Same here I just happen be looking up missing persons cases, stumbled onto hers, and noticed the date she went missing is the current date.

  • @adamv2 I watched this segment way back when it was uploaded but for some reason I was thinking about Maura today and came on to re-watch the segment and to see if there were any updates. I had no idea that today was the date she disappeared. I hope her family finds some answers soon. You just never know what happens in these situations. Someone has to know something...lets just hope someone finds the courage to come forward and you justu never know, she could be found alive.

  • why they didn't search further in the clue of the woman who said that she saw her with an elderly man she can desribe him and draw a sketch of him for further search

  • Wow, kudos to this mother (Sharon) who go extensive ways to help her son look for his girlfriend. What a mother! God bless you Ma'am!

  • so sad. i feel sorry for her dad.

  • where is the mother is this whole situation? She is never mentioned in this entire piece.

  • @RiotGrrrlLogic She passed away a few years ago i believe

  • @RiotGrrrlLogic Her parents divorced and even though Maura stayed with her mother most of the times, she felt closer to her father. This fact was mentioned in part 1 of this episode. :)

  • What a wonderful loving father.

  • @Imogen1885 Why do these thing seem to happen to nice people?

  • Her Father shows how much he loves her, Damn is sad, you can't talk 2 strangers in an isolated place, there are sick mental people every where. We all should have GPS microship's in our body's to prevent missing or 2 solve cases.

  • @912alldaylong you should be the first one to implant the chip then

  • She is blatantly dead... the fact nothing new is showing up she is dead and they should just accept it, it's harder hanging out then to let go and while i feel sorry for them, they should just accept the fact she is gone :/

  • why would she say she had called AAA and then wait in the cold by the side of the road, how was she planning to get anywhere from there? And whydidnt the bus driver take her down the road or somewhere, why did he leave her there knowing she didnt call AAA. Someone had to have picked her up in a car, reminds me of the case of the killer posing as a state trooper who paroled the roads looking for young women in trouble, it would be local.

  • Aww i hope they find out what happened to her

  • This one is soooo hard to crack. What happened to Maura? So weird. I hope they find something one day for her family.

  • Did law inforcement obtain any survellience footage form Cumberland Farms?

  • Comment removed

  • I would do anything to help that poor family find their daughter, I think she got in to a car heading in to town, i just hope it was someone local and not someone passing through, i hope her Father gets some answers.

  • was the bottles in the back opened? they said she had a coke bottle that smelled like alchol they didnt mention that. why dont they check the video camera at the store where the lady said she seen her saying help me? i think they need to get another dog up there and sniff around bc its proberly somone local that took her it just breaks my heart somone so pretty and the family did they cry? i didnt see them

  • @sweetazzzcandymuah - you saw the emotional father throughout the program so you can't say you did not see family. But I missed the mother. Maybe she could not do it, such a program?

  • Thanks for posting. Sad situation ;(

  • This is beyond heartbreaking. My heart goes out for the family, especially for the father.

  • I know it's a stereotype, but whenever someone in the sticks, or disappears a secluded town surrounded by woods, I think the worst. I just think killer/rapist was driving around looking for victims and she was unfortunately there. There was another story I saw similar to this where another girl disappeared. She was picked up by a predator and killed along the highway. Thankfully the killer was caught there, but what happened to the girl was not pretty. Hopefully if dead, Maura didn't suffer.

  • gosh.. I hope she comes home safely. I feel so sad for his father. :(

  • @ehwutthiporn I as well feel tremendously sad for what they are having to go thru.. and all these year to have so many questions the possiblity of her being alive or dead is so much more haunting then just thinking dead... but i as well feel if near a forest she is most likely deceased and was left to feed the forest animals.. I do hope the family gets some kind of closure.

  • @aatorres5 totall agreed. :)

  • You know, they never caught the Connecticut River Killer... he's still out there... maybe she's his latest victim.

  • That's heartbreaking. I really hate it for the father. Gosh. I feel so much for him.

  • @Thebeautiful11 I know. The worst is not knowing, how sad. At least if she is dead, if someone would just let the family know. Not that I want her to be dead, but if she is, at least the people who love her have some kind of closure

  • Someone took her away from that area. She must be dead at this point. This is a terrible story. :(

  • Did anyone check out the bus driver, after all he was the last one to see her?

  • i think she was kidnapped.

  • @hollyzone

What makes you think so? It might be... but what makes this case so interessting is that a lot of options are by any mean possible... abduction, hiking accident and 1000 others possibilities...

    Lets talk about that...

  • ok...one anomaly...earlier Sharon says that we were able to look at her call records because her ph was an additional line to that of her son and that her son was paying the monthly bills, right? Later, she says that i knew that she always used a pre-paid calling card and that she had also gifted her, two of those? Which one is true? A pre-paid card or a billing connection also known as the post paid connection (i know she cant have both on the same no, cause i am from the telecom industry)..

  • @addy157

i think the cell phone wouldn't work in the mountains and she also had a calling card, so maybe she used pay phones.

  • @addy157 - I also wondered about the additional cell phone, and prepaid phone-cards too? Did she have two phones? I have two cell phones; one runs on prepaid minutes, but the other is through a contract. Hmm ... very strange. I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I'm also curious about the box of wine found in the car. What happened to the bottles of alcohol she purchased before she left? There wasn't mention of any wine box before this part, was there?

  • what accent does he have?

  • @sweetdreams626 New Englander

  • morning, wasn't successful and then God knows what happened from then on. So many questions....

  • what bothers me the most is that if she did get picked up, then why did someone witness seeing her running along the side of the road later that night as he was returning home from work? I mean, Maura either got picked up or she didnt. The scent stops 100 feet away from the accident, it could mean she was picked up or maybe the dog just lost the scent even though she was running away from the scene....i think she left on foot, made it to another town, tried to call her boyfriend the next

  • why is she all smiles when she says some thing happened to this girl? It seems odd that only 1 person saw her in distress too. Did some mt man come take her away? some one has to know what happened.

  • wow... this is just so sad; i'm praying for her and your family...

  • she must have met with foul play. the only way you can explain her vanishing into thin air.

  • Her dad is the best... Pray for closure for him, her family & friends; I'm praying now. All we can do is pray.

  • @aidanlasharrah I agree. I wish I had a father like him.

  • Fred is amazing.

  • SNIFF...SO SAD..

  • This is just so sad!

  • The school bus driver is the last one to see her alive! Would he really leave a beautiful young woman, alone, in the dark, on a lonely road? Hmmmm

  • @exice There were houses and witnesses pretty close to the scene. The bus driver did call the police, so I don't think he had any evil intentions. Plus, he wasnt the last one to see her, it was another neighbor. What gets me is that this other witness saw her standing outside her car on her cell phone, she goes to do something for two minutes, comes back and Maura is gone. Unbelievable and unfortunate and sad.....so many conflicing emotions with this case

  • @fromanotherstar

I will have to watch this again. If the other witness said she was gone then they need investigating. Thanks for letting me know

  • @exice thats true how come??????

  • My heart goes out to the family and friends who have to live with unbearable mystery day in and day out. I can only imagine that having no answers would be harder then any truth when a loved one goes missing. God bless.

  • What a fucking stupid witness to have not recorded the license plate number and called the police.

  • Get the FBI on this, the bus driver knows more....

  • @juan300c unfortunately he passed away....

  • @fromanotherstar how do you know that? and how do you know Maura's mother died? and how are all these people dying?

  • @joannajean well if you read through all of the information about the case online, sooner or later you will come across a relative of the family that informed all the people discussing the case, that maura's mom had passed away. I believe the bus driver was tired of being hassled over and over and moved to florida where he died of a heart attack or something like that. If you want to believe that their deaths were somehow related to a secret conspiracy, go for it.

  • The Police is doing NOTHING.

  • @nights1900 Yes they are! They're out writing tickets!

  • Knowing that a loved one has taken their own life is a very hard thing to accept; none of us want to imagine that they would have been in so much pain and unable to share it with anyone. This is so even if it's an obvious case of suicide. In a case like this which has an 'open end', it's even harder. Instead of going through the 5 stages of grief, they're stuck in the 1st sage - denial.

  • i hope she is ok.......

  • This story is really sad and I hope that this case is solved becaust her dad is gonna kill himself trying to find out what happened to his daughter and I dont blame him for keeping up with his search. Somebody knows something and hopefully one day they will have enough courage to come forward. Thanks for posting this cases like this can never get too much exposure.

  • Maybe the bus driver was the abducter?

  • U should post mote vids... Way more vids cuz I love them so much. Thanks for uploading these. I was hoping to see this show cuz I had seen the previews before on I.d. U should post all shows from I.d it's a great channel
