I got something like that, years ago, from skiing/swimming in a freshwater lake. It was horrible, and a quack doctor was giving me antibiotics for an ear infection and that was just feeding it...finally went to an ENT who got it cleared up...forgot how painful that was. (shivers)

I got this too for about 2 months and the hospital gave me the wrong stuff which made it worse which I went to an ENT and found out I had it. I am white and take showers everyday. It just happens when you get water in your ears and get a fungus spore in the ear.

It has nothing to with being a mexican.

Hurts like heck cleaing this stuff out periodically.

My one tip for any watching this, NEVER have any one or DOCTOR constantly shoot WATER into your ears to clean out wax along with H. Peroxide. It'll burn your skin eventually and the sitting water in the ear will help the spores grow.

For me the doctor is very good at cleaning it out. I went back a few days ago. The right ear was fine and the left still had some left. He suctioned what was laying in there and then took this stuff that had a strong smell to it and swabed it inside the ear canal. It burns alittle bit but not bad.

BTW I had tons of surgery's done on my ears. 5 times of putting tubes in. Left ear has a reconstructed ear drum which was botched.

I can't get water in my ears or I get a real bad infection too.
