@heashon2000 You're so right. Funny thing is that some musicians from that glam rock period are still trying to keep up the show. Dee Snider is a good example. He seems like he's a very nice guy but what he used to do does not fit in todays context. David Lee Roth is another example. He had to work in Vegas to pay his bills. Don't get me wrong, I think that most of those guys are pretty good musicians, but the visual thing was a very strong part of their show. When it died, so did the show.

Great band, and great memories 1986-87, when I was a young teenager.

A few observations, I remember:

- VH got a lot of women at their shows, but the DLR band was getting a lot of guys esp. guitar nerds

- Steve Vai, such an amazing guitarist, but I feel so sorry for him for being put into the shoes of EVH. Still gotta go with Eddie though. Sorry.

- Fun song in the late 80s, not so fun in the early 90s when hairy guys were playing this song from their Trans-Am's.

If ever there were someone who epitomized what it is to have ADHD it'd be Dave... and he obviously had it bad. 'Monkey Hour' was his career and videos like this only emphsized that. He was hyper, over the top and charismatic to the core. But gay? Nah! don't think so. He got more tail than even he can possibly remember. He had sex appeal, he knew it and he used with a vengeance. But more than anything, he was an entertainer. And entertain he did.

Back in the day hyperactivity was the primary diagnosis people were given before the ADD/ADHD tsg was ever coined. Dave simply found a way to channel all that energy into something constructive that he enjoyed doing, and music was it. Having the support of his family no doubt helped in a huge way, considering the fame he achieved. But I agree, he's the best.
