It's not a failed run if you mess up in the beginning to get him to spam AoE.
My guild and I run around like monkeys to get him stuck (check my channel) you'll see he is somewhere else spamming AoE. But yeah that spot is preferable since it's faster.
@XxNekoKilaxX the time it takes to get him to respam the AoE could be longer than the time it takes to do the break, so if you don't get it the first time then it's better to just restart.

I was answering to the "The time it takes to get him to respam the AoE... it's better to restart" that you responded with, hence a hiccup in the beginning safe zone doesn't require to restart a boat, which will take 3mins-ish to relaunch/reform/load. If we have our party, I'll record the 2nd strategy if rake messed up. I never commented about your spearing or your replica tutorial (ie. totalshadow0) Constructive criticism, not e-peen please.
@Kanzaki415 Be more clear please when you quote. Plus if you're going for a thor break off run, it's easier to just trio/quad it. It takes less than 1 min to die and restart the boat. Also if you even bothered to read my description I clearly stated that there are no other first person views of the breakoff with clear instructions.(totalshadow0's was in 3rd person & used annotation boxes to mark spots which can be inaccurate) I'm not seeking for any e-peen or any gratitude as this is a tutorial
@Kanzaki415 Nevertheless, thank you for your input on getting Thor stuck in a different location. I'd personally prefer to restart as it doesn't take much time. Plus, having a guideline for his tongue is a lot more comfortable if you're more used to the same positions, which in effect would speed up the time required spearing the tongue which leads to more productive raids.
@ImaginedCA True but the way we do it doesn't really take that much longer. And even if we did restart it'd happen again, and all those restarts add up which can make it just as long.
