  • great job, simple & effective. never thought about adding a light - great idea!

  • This is good shit. Right on my level. I've watched a lot of other vids on DIY pedal boards. Look man, I play guitar, I'm not a fuckin electrician or an architect! This is pretty much just how I'd do mine, maybe a little more polished up on the looks, but good ideas! Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Neat..I think I can do this in woodshop class pretty easily, lol

  • I will make one thanks man! LoL

  • dude your scaring me...lol every time you hold that board with the pedals on it sideways ...im like oh please dont let any pedals fall

  • oh and btw, the pedal power 2 + sometimes is needed bc some pedals don't take the same type of power supply jacks. for instance, the line 6 dl4 and mm4 and all those pedals take AC and not DC...along with the digitech whammy takes a different power supply, and the pedal power 2 + gives you the option to power those without needing to hook up a surge protector! just trying to help!

  • personally is the pedaltrain pro. it's not cheap, but it is angled, and it's designed so that you can put all of your cables underneath the board, along with the power supply. it just makes for a very neat board if you have a crap load of pedals...but making your own is always an awesome idea! most affordable way to go!

  • hey man, i think this is a great idea. i happen to use a voodoolab pedal power 2 +...the only reason i like it better is because the power is isolated instead of daisy chained. i understand the point of this video is to make a diy affordable board. but for anyone out there building their own...and u don't wanna buy a big board, the pedal power 2 + is a VERY good option for power...on a diy board or any other you're using. if you did wanna buy a really great board though that i use

  • very nice job! love it , great ingenuity

  • Great job, I think. I see even better things to come from a creative dude!

  • Hey dude, that is a really cheap to build. it works great thanks for posting this video

  • fucking right frantic,do it yourself is the way to go

  • i wanna spend around 20$...on metal edging that you use when you drywall corners..what kinda paint did you use? looks good for $12 btw

  • You look like the kind of ass that would play in five finger gay punch.

  • @mrguano7 eat dick fucker

  • @ex6arch6angel6 Oh you too? You must like all those typical generic metal bands like soilwork, sevendust, drowning pool, saliva, etc. Shit they put in UFC, great pick.

  • @mrguano7 fuck u

  • @shadowc75 Dude, dont get in this, you like slipknot. Stick to that, not that 5 finger crap.

  • @mrguano7

Your the kind of cunt that hides.

  • its crap! you can just buy a pedal train bord, plus then you can tidy up your cables

  • @100myjoel

Yeah, that's the spirit. That's the 'I can do attitude' of, 'I'll just buy another".........

  • great idea on the light! good stuff

  • You can build a similar board from the IKEA GORM shelf. It'll be lighter.

  • You are so weird and funny, i like you though, reminds me of a friend I had in California look alike and all, very amusing guy.....sick mind and loco but well intentioned...weird weirdo!!

  • Stricken by Disturbed. :D

  • That looks like a mess dude.

  • ..GOOD STUFF!!! LEFTY. RIGHTEOUS.

  • Very very niceeeeee... haha....

  • I really like the light idea and the way you set that up. Props!

  • Good job man. Nice and simple. Don't listen to these fuckin hacks. They talk shit about knowing so much and they probably play five notes on a 50 dollar Chinese strat.

  • @Gibsonmanner No, they probably play 5 notes on an American Deluxe thier dad bought them. I play a Chinese Strat, because that's what I can afford. This dude made this pedal board for $12 instead of buying one. When you don't have money, you make good with what you've got.

  • I want to build one today...so checking vids...don't let the haters get you down man..I like your pedal board

  • Just don't jizz your pants, that shit would be noticeable now.

  • what ever people its best to make it yourself you can make it to ur liking and paint it the color u want and modify it how u like it with neon lights haha also u can make your own case to go with it hahah

  • THIS IS CRAP

  • Let's not diss all the pedals. Te Ernie ball volume is a decent pedal! But the rest are nothing to write home about I'll admit. Lol.

I think pedaltrain is the best way to go...*period*...

  • The amount of time and effort to make that cost more then actually buying a professional board for $100.00

    Retarded

  • @kingdeadly1 That depends solely on how much you value your time. I'd never buy anything that expensive if I can build it myself.

  • Yeah, it's the way to go alright... except you still need a 150 dollar roadcase to go along with it if you want to take anywhere...

  • Dude,is that a blacklight? If i were to make a pedalboard*dont have enough pedals for a board...YET!*i would use a blacklight bulb to light up stuff.

  • Dude u freakin FAIL!! :) crap pedals and a crappy board to go with it! Way to waste a day.

  • if ur only working with 3 pedals its ok to just throw them on the floor. Being that those pedals are garbage that makes it even more ok. Seems like ur more interested in trying to look cool. U wasted ur time and money.

  • as long as you've got a power strip and room on the bottom, use a separate transformer ("wall wart") for each pedal. most thrift stores have *boxes* of them and all you need is the right voltage (usually 9v) and current rating per the pedal's manual. e.g. if a distortion pedal says it draws 20mA, get a power supply that is rated for 50mA or 300mA, but not 10mA . 1 spot is nice, but with enough pedals it will be noisier than even the cheapest transformers if you have one for each pedal. viva DIY!

  • real nice, man! great concept - it's your pedalboard, u do it the way u want it, it's ur attitude that's in it!!! and all it takes is a bit of handymanship and creativity

i'm up to making one for myself

    (just ignore the negative comments)

  • good on you buddy

  • "best way to go, period" um, no, but cheapest way, yeah, definitely.

  • weak

  • Not so Silent Bob.

  • thanks for posting this

  • METALLICA TATOO FTW

    (It's in the intro)

  • Fail

  • @DocPicklez LOL

  • I'm keeping an eye on this Kid 'cos he's gonna make a better board next and one with a lid !! I just see this as the prototype !! he's saving his money for the more important things !! Did you know that Kirk Hammett used to carry his first electric guitar around in a Black Bin Bag before he could afford a proper gig bag !!

  • Brilliant board man - seriously you want to market these! Dr Frantic.

  • wanna be as pedaltrain board lol

  • Cool dude. You seem to know how to cut some wood, you might like to check out an instruction video for plugging a microphone to your videocam.

  • crap pedals and even crappier board.

  • @mad0elga Can we see a picture of yours ? you know as a good example !!

  • got a question..........won't the whammy feel a bit off since its designed to be on flat ground and now its on inverted ground?

  • thats funny video

  • I bought a pedal used for 20 bucks once, and I got that I spot cable for free LOL

  • Lol, first he's bragging about it, then at 1:40 he starts hugging it... wtf

  • @Mudstersrocks - Dude he's not huggin'it he's showing you how he made it !!

  • Thanks man, now I gonna do my own pedalboard and I want to it with a black light.

  • Thanks man, now I gonna do my own pedalboard and I want to it with a black light.

  • holy shit look at his hand!!!!! 6:20

  • hoover your carpet you mug

  • 1spot is excellent dude. you should totally get one if you haven't by now

  • good idea I´ll try this.

  • @Zordid0 already found a good piece of wood, gonna build it with and angle, car o speaker carpet, its gonna look nice!!!

  • i notice your compresor is after you wepon distortion pedal.you should always put the compressor first.no rules but youll probably like it better

  • @geetarust - He is left handed - it probably goes the other way !!

  • @domnal doesnt work like that.if the compressor is after the distortion in will compress the distortion and sound like shit.trust me left or right handed means nothing.kobain didnt hook his shit up backwards.

  • Thanks dude I was thinkin of buyin one but now ima make one thanks

  • why the mask noob?

  • hey this actually gave me a good idea thanks man

  • hey man, nice piece of wood, but could you tell me how to make it as the title says "HOW TO MAKE..."

    ???

  • @IAMJAZZHIMSELF a piece of board nailed and glued or screwed to a piece of 2x4

then paint it black !! Size is your choice - But you cansee he has thought ahead and made room for some more pedals !!

  • Thanks for the inspiration man. I built mine from solid oak wood and have a shitload of pedals on it now. I'll have to post mine on here.

  • @DarksoldierX2 I wanna see it !!

  • The felt like tolex that is used on car audio speaker boxes takes to Velcro very well..You can cover the entire board with it and the pedals can be placed anywhere at anytime.it has a good appearance as well. On the pedals I prefer the hard plastic velcro that has the glue tape underneath..I found that set up to be the most durable and most reliable

  • @rokinrandy Do a search on 3m dual lock ..That's what I meant by the hard plastic stuff..Thats stuff even grips carpet as wel as velcro and felt tolex..

  • One question, how are gonna bring it to gig?

  • nice work, \m/

  • i got the one spot. it works like a charm only $35.00. daisy chanis 9 pedals

  • Your board looks like crap, but that chrome paint light idea is pure genius.

  • good job man! save some bucks that way to get the pedals ya want!

  • Thanks man!! I'm totally gonna take your advice, that does sound like the best way to go!!

  • +1 for Dr. Frantic

  • im all for making my own pedalboard, but its the case thats gonna be a pain to find or even make...

  • kick ass idea

  • Can you play Freebird?

  • ok dude wtf is that lightup wall behind you and where did you get it. it looks soooo sick

  • You have a similiar voice to Slash.Watch an interview with him to hear.

  • why TECHNO MUSIC?come on, pedalboard means ROCK!

  • Fat is not muscle.

  • how did this crap get to the top when you search "how to make a pedal board"?

there are a stack of better videos then this.

  • Nice pedalboard man, what are the dimensions though?

  • haha what a pedalboard dude! :D very simple and it looks like not finished

  • Nice board man. Good job!

  • Thanks, dude!

  • Cool, like your views on customizing brother!

  • Cool design, especially with the two by four. I'll be making my self a copy of this for sure.

  • Where is the "how to MAKE" part? I only see someone bragging about some piece of wood...?

  • @st00f take your pieces of wood and screw them together, it's not that hard.

  • @st00f It's a piece of board nailed or screwed to a piece of 2x4 plus you can save your money for more pedals !! This kid will do well .

  • @st00f It's a piece of board nailed or screwed to a piece of 2x4 plus you can save your money for more pedals !! This kid will do well . You can go fancy but it costs more !! This guy is thinking pedals and dollars ( he isn't thinking of spending money on a pedal board) . If you can make something cheap enough and it will do; you will have more money to buy the things you can't make !!

Excellent - Dude - When he held the thing up you could see how he made it !!

  • @st00f I'm no expert, but I think you cut the wood to the desired size with, maybe a saw, then attatch the wood with, maybe, nails...screws...? Then, maybe paint. He has a power supply on it...I would say he..attatched, it...somehow, to the pedalborad?? I think the "how to make" part is more or less self explanitory - You may want to hit up expert village.

  • gordo gil !!

  • gordo gil !!

  • dig the mask. the board is a real cool idea tho',i like it. will you build a lid for it so the FX's won't get damaged during the trips back n' forth to ur gigs? and, have u ever saw those mounts that kinda' look like a bicycle chain link? one end screws to the bottom of the pedal, (using the original pedal screw) the other end screws to the board itself. they work sooo much better at securing the pedals. hey, 5 starz dude. thanks for posting.

  • nice metallica tattoo ;) thanks for the video!

  • Where can u buy a straight blue light like that though?

  • i like your tatoo metallica rules

  • This country needs more people like you, doing things. Great job! I would like to add light n your pedal board.

  • light? that could be bad for the sound.

  • @gaud2029 what?

  • @gaud2029 what?

  • was a bad joke ;p

  • Lol yea pretty bad joke :D

  • @gaud2029 what?

  • I would imagine LED Lights might work well...dunno

  • Disturbed is badass and that limited edition pedal is tiiight.

  • "Crappy power"? I don't know what country you're living in to get "crappy power" but I guarantee that this set up will have enough to deliver a consistent level of electricity to your pedals.

  • @arbitermatt Actually you can get bad power at most places in the united states. ESPECIALLY clubs. yes it is delivering the correct amount of power, but its not clean power. why do you think people use power conditioners?

  • i agree with you. i didn't find out about clean and dirty power until a couple months ago. dirty power will make your pedals not sound consistent. a power conditioner is a great investment if you run a lot of pedals. thumbs up for you.

  • @thricex05 Thank you sir. Finally someone who knows something. I hate people who are unintelligent who think they know something.

  • haha yeah, not having good enough power sounds kind of like a pretentious statement..

  • Does it mean you made a better one? Show us or stop beeing jealous...

  • no problem! I just uploaded a video for you too see how easy it is. The video i uploaded is my smaller board. I am not jealous : ]

  • Dan Donegan's "The Weapon"

I have the same one, and its a great metal pedal.

  • Yeah.....Sounds Good Too..

  • i made a pedalboard out of part of my old entertainment center...already had legs on and i took the front legs off to slope it and added velcro and put hole for the power cords to go thru....and then i took a plastice tube and put it on the side and put slits in it to hold a bunch of picks incase u drop one in a show...but i will probably use your power suply idea...mine sucks

  • hey...how does the pedals stick to the board? u use glue?

  • velcro

  • @weaponx29 You could use velcro

  • He uses velcro...if u look and listen he acually tells you....i made a pedalboard out of part of my old entertainment center...already had legs on and i took the front legs off to slope it and added velcro and put hole for the power cords to go thru....and then i took a plastice tube and put it on the side and put slits in it to hold a bunch of picks incase u drop one in a show...u can just reach down and grab one instead of trying to get urs off the ground.

  • velcro dumbass

  • Great vid! Thks for sharing this cheap way to get my own and personal pedalboard! BTW,you rock !

  • its funny that tonnes of the best guitarists always used their homemade pedal boards even iff they could afford superboards, with flight case exclusions :P

  • oh,i forgot to turn on the amp... XD i feel stupid

  • fucking mug

  • my petal wont turn on,what do i do?

  • plug it in!

  • very nice man!

  • hah ill just buy one couldent be fd doing tht

  • Good job man. Well done

  • very nice!!

    only one probelm...

    i have no pedals 0,0

    XD

  • How do u stick the pedals to the pedalboard?

  • Velcro

  • @frantic0466

PedalBoots! You can get them from ACD Guitars in the UK (they ship worldwide).

  • jst use Velcro :D

  • I used Cable Ties.

  • @Chamillo87 Velcro dude.

  • @Botdra yeah, i got that already, lol

  • @Chamillo87

    industrial velcro

  • @Chamillo87 You were not watching. Snot.

  • @Chamillo87 with velcro

  • thanks man really helped.

  • Thnx a bunch. I really had no idea how u get ur pedels to stick to the board. I really think that purchasing a pedel board is a total waste of money.

  • He's got velcro on the board, and velcro on the back of the pedals. It's the last one of the list of materials (number 6).

  • well its easier for some people to just open the board, plug in a couple cables and play than setting everything up.. but it might be easier on stage to arrange the pedals in an ark form with no board, maybe on a nice rug (if you have space) then plug everything in.. i think boards are just easier and less time consuming.

    just my $0.02

  • I made one several years ago with a different approach.

Mine is flat, but stair-stepped. The front row has 4 cut-outs for pedals (same brand=same size/shape) to sit about floor level (daisy chain fed down inside), while the back row has no cut-outs, the pedals just sit on top. All wood construction with a wood top for the case.

Since they're stair-stepped I don't bump knobs or anything on the bottom ones while engaging the top ones.

  • Really great DIY board especially for just throwing together a cheap one. Hope mine turns out as good.

  • excellent DIY

  • sweet stricken cover in the end.

  • Comment removed

  • what band are you in? also awesome job making the pedal board

  • cool.......good job!

  • Nice video. Has anyone used the 1 Spot? I'm considering buying it and am wondering if it works good.

  • I have one. It's great. I power my Blues Driver, Giga Delay, Morley Optical Volume, Boss Compressor, Boss DS-1, and Cry Baby with it. You can also buy another daisy chain to hook on the end of that, if you want.... The guy at Guitar Center said you could do up to 20.

  • Awesome. I bought one online yesterday. I only have 5 pedals so the regular daisy chain is perfect.

  • it is really good i used it and recommend it 2 every1

  • hey yes i just bought one its amazing!!! definatly buy one its cheap too

  • good job man! great help!

  • cool ima try to do that... FUCK YEA DISTURBED is Awesom!

  • He he me laugh muchy if pedals fall of and breaky................

  • 1:58 Very smart!! good job!
