Why do everyone think about this theory that it is bad and cause short-sightedness? It does not say that playing video games in the distance of one inch from the screen improves eyesight... its the theory that if you are short-sighted video gammes can improve eyesight in a distance that is blurry to the eye because it helps your brain to better process the image and have a sharper image... some of the comments here are really dumb...
Whatever. The study I lost track of. But I'll stand with I play plenty of action games and no, I don't sit 1 inch away from the screen. That's nonsense and hopefully the obvious would be thought out. I don't think this counts for handhelds. I hate handhelds as gaming devices. But action games like SuperSmashBros:Melee/Brawl well you should be fine and may help.
I believe it, both my parents and my much older brothers and sister who dont play video games, wear glasses or contacts. I grew up playing video games, FPS, action etc and my vision is 15/20; better than normal vision. Who knows maybe im lucky.
playing video games or spending too much time infront of a screen makes you short sighted, sure itl make your eyesight better for close things because your looking at something close all the time, but things far away will become blurry. get your facts right nerds.
but it also helps peripheral vision and visual acuity... it does help vision in some ways.. but not how clear your eyesight is, it usualy makes it worse
But dude. If you're sitting like dead in front of the screen, you're obviously going to need to wear glasses for near sighted ness
so there's completly obvious things that should just automatically be implied like sitting to close and being absolutely stupid and turning off the lights (which we did if anyone noticed XD)
Plus, we (meaning me and the group that did it in TV Pro my freshman year) didn't know all much but what the news paper said
