By cheap update I meant getting a new product in one line of products. The better term would be upgrade. If you wish to advance to a new version of Windows then it will cost you more than getting a new version of OSX.

You only get free lifetime updates and upgrades for Linux but for now that's merely a kernel, officially. Most desktop Linux-based systems aren't consistent and their standards rather confuse people than help them get the job done. I hope they get solid soon.

OSX is cheaper and whenever a new version is available you get cheap update for like 30$. I'd rather use this for business where up-to-date software is crucial and getting it should not be a big financial stress. Also stable and reliable hardware to run it makes sure business goes well uninterrupted. As for servers there's Linux, also cheap or free.

For home ussage Windows is better since you can use illegal copy but at the office things might get ruff if you allow licensing problems to exist.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Mac OS X sucks... it has everything to do with the fact that you need to choose the partition labeled : BOOTCAMP and is formatted in FAT32. You can change the file system that the BOOTCAMP volume is, but Mac OS X formats it as FAT32.

its not the computer its the user. o and thats an older mac it doesn't have blue ray but you can put 7200rpm hard drives in them but its stupid to put that kind of hard drive in a laptop they often crash due to sudden quick movements. and you just get an adapter for hdmi

Yes, but close, as long as nothing dowloaded from the internet do not click on web's ads and NO, CDs, USBs plugged in your lappy while using windows ,ur 99% safe. But if ur using windows in public wifi the risk will rise.

Anyways, it's not that big deal if you get any viruses in Windows, I assume you only install OS and games on that machine, so if you notice that your laptop is infected, just do a fresh install again, only take you about 30 mins - 1 hour to do a fresh install.

Linux advantage? Open source. Disadvantage? You need to fiddle around ALOT to get all of your stuff work- Being a gamer, I've had a hard time using Linux to run my games. Some games work, some games work with addon programs and some games just won't work on Linux. :/ But the open source thing is nice, I customized my interface like alot. It looked cool. :D

I had that problem, it turns up that it's not asking him to install windows yet because he has opened the bootapp yet....ITS INSIDE THE UTILLITY FOLDER!!!!AND THAT WERE YOU SET UP BOOTCAMP...were deside how much harddrive space Windows gets and all of that good stuff...the first part was just installing the part were you hold down the ALT or OPTION key!!!!!!!

Why does everyone say macs crash i have had a mac since 1997 ill admit my old imac g3 crashed about 3 or 4 times but the new one like my macbook pro and imac g5 intel have never crashed with me yet i have had my imac 10 months and my macbook pro 6 months i also instlled OS X tiger on my imac g3 from 2001 no crashes yet lol on a poer pc g3 procerssor it takes about 3 min to boot up but its fast on the desktop lol my imac g5 take about 12sec my macbook pro 10sec

its a program that doesn't interfere with a OS, it's just a boot loader for allowing windows to boot on it. So it's the Mac OS. Apple promises osx will never crash, no OS is full proof.
