@psycotria Disagree - in that part of Japan, there is a phrase " Tsunami Tendenko " which means to run individually to safety believing that one's family members are doing the same. This attitude has been inculcated because in the past many had died while going back home to look for family members. To escape from harm is humanly instinctive. Ask yourself why there was no major Earthquake damage to these areas on all the videos out there until the Tsunami. When you look at Kobe which was supposedly a much smaller quake the damage was extensive. Why hasn't anyone been asking these questions? The EQ was a small and this is why many residents we caught unawares by the Tsunami. Don't fall for the cover-story folks.

The earthquake epicentre was off the coast, the movement of the seabed was much worse than any ground shaking people felt on land. Japan gets regular tsunami warnings, but most arent too bad, so most people ignore it or think they are safe enough distance....but this tsunami was much bigger than anyone expected.
