P3 together , means to insert right hand needle in the three stitches in the left needle considering those three as one stitch and purl like always.

For yarn over :

My method is to easily turn yarn around the needle in any direction and depending on whether you want to make a hole or just increase a pattern, you will insert needle from bottom or from front in the next row.
