Ah...this movie is just so deep and beautiful and sad. So very artistic. I do love the way they speak almost in prose; riddles and such things. This movie has so much life-experience in it. You can just see this happening in a thousand lives during the Civil War.

Sad, but you could feel the love, real love. Nicole Kidman and Jude Law were great. Everyone was, but yeah, the Civil War must have been the saddest time for Americans living then. They captured both emotions so deeply in this movie. I think it's a keeper. I agree this song doesn't really fit the period of the picture.
