@LongviewRocks I agree with you in one point: its a shame that a great song like this one never had been properly published, like many others who are constantly on the concert lineups.
But if you listen to Radiohead long enough, you'll realize that they simply cannot be cast in one genre. They're always trying new things, keeping their sound fresh. Sometimes it pleases a lot of people (Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows) sometimes it doesn't (Amnesiac, King of Limbs). But that's why they are great!
@LongviewRocks that's purely subjective, I happen to like The King of Limbs quite a bit, about as much as Kid A.... while I think In Rainbows was definitely better... but Limbs has more of that downbeat and experimentive tone in it than most of Radiohead's albums, and those are the Radiohead songs I like the most
if you're one of the Radioheads that like a more rock orientated sound I can see where you're a bit dissappointed, but they're just catering to a different album with Limbs.
Wow ;') THAT made me tab my very first song! And THAT made me buy Meeting People is Easy. I've listened to the sample and I just had to buy it <3 <3 <3

why did you guys give @ billyradiohead 10 thumbs down? can you answer me for fuck`s sake? yes, this is in fact is a country song (at least musically) and it`s ok. Country as a musical genre isn`t inferrior or something. you neurotic, anally-retentive, insecure fucks! Radiohead doesn`t need your "mighty" protection... hmph, another 10 thumbs down for me! but who cares? ;)
Theres nothing wrong with country, I personally dont care for mainstream country. Great musicians like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young.....well nearly everyone, had a few country influenced songs!
agreed, but muse and radiohead are very diferent bands radiohead make music really for listening to yourself while muse write music to bend your brain while your in a feild with thousands of people, ive seen both live many times and for me muse are the better option to see live radiohead are the best option to listen to at home, just my take on it : )
Radiohead really need to make another documentary. MPIE is kinda painful to watch sometimes, it was filmed in what seems like their darkest and most stressful days. although the album is critacally acclaimed, a lot of the interviewers treat it as a saviour to the manic depressive's, and in turn constantly refer to depression in the interviews, which I'm sure became incredibly tiresome for Thom and co. Radiohead seem a lot more jovial and happy these days. I'd like to see another documentary.
@wurble yeah, i totally agree. esp about the whole negative vibe they had cus it was filmed during 1997, which in glastonbury 97 is when they almost quit, as of course u hear thom talking about it starting around 1:53.
@wurble I thought the documentary wasn't open enough. I don't want a jovial Radiohead, I want a Radiohead open about what their songs mean and how they feel about their place in the world.
@wurble To be honest i liked that it was so depressing, not that you want non radiohead fans having another excuse to call them depressing but the documentary was amazing.
@iamthebubb Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a thing a thing about MPIE. But I would like to see Radiohead do another docu type film. I think the mood of it would be completely different this time around. They've all grown up and seem a lot more comfortable with themselves and where they're at.
How have radiohead not released this tune properly? I'd love to get a copy of this version without the mpie intrerviews. Such a good tune....too good!
@bingstar316 Here you are chum, a quicker Thom Yorke solo version from a gig they did in 2003 on the HTTT tour. Second to last song in the encore, followed by Everything in It's Right Place. Amazing night. Worth trying to find a download of the whole thing, as it was broadcast on Xfm.

when will they release this onto an album? This & Big Boots (Man-o-War), Lift (fast version) & True Love Waits. Not that it matters if they are commercially released - it won't make them better songs - just that they deserve to be released as much as anything else they've done because these 4 songs all amongst their greatest songs (hard choice).
@sodacakeblues We've already got "True Love Waits". I feel that just like with "My Iron Lung" (the version on 'The Bends' is the same one featured in the 'Live at the Astoria' concert, if you weren't aware), I don't think a studio version could match the live version's brilliance. It's not too hard to find an mp3 of the Pinkpop '96 version of "Lift" if you look for it, and again, I don't think that could be topped by a studio version. As for the other two, I agree, they need to be released.
