My dad died and my mom has now become an Alcoholic - She gives me a real hell of a time, but Fortunatly for me I have now installed locks in my room, when she goes off on one - i push her out and lock the door, then turn my music up. :D Easy roof over my head until she dies.

I never really thought about it. Just thought it was my dad's disease. I never realized how truly deeply i had been affected by it. I'm out of the house now, but it still affects my little siblings. how that hurts to watch! I'm trying to help my family get help for themselves before it irreversibly scars them too!
Everthing in this video is true about kids of alcohlic parents. Both of my parents were addicted. I feel they basically stole my childhood. I could never have friends over, was depressed and withdrawn all during my childhood and into adulthood and still struggle with the depression. Have self image probelms and feelings of being unloved even though I have a good wife and 3 great kids. I wouldnt wish this on anyone as I know what being a child of an alcoholic parent is like.
The image problem is a warning sign. I would go an get some help with it.
Sounds cliche but "been there done that" It is like a curse. You could end up like your parents before you know it. I know it's hard to believe but it happened to me. I'm doing something about it. Lots of people miss the boat and end up in trouble and make people's lives miserable without realizing it. Do you think your parents wanted to make you suffer? Not likely, even though you may think so.
Continued... Alcoholics during recovery learn about their behavior and come to see how they have affected people in their lives over a period of a couple of years. During that time the chance of suicide rate skyrockets as they learn about how their behavior has affected the ones around them. Alcohol can be a horrible thing for addicts and their families. Good luck!
@murphj4 Thank you Murph for the concern. 2 months or so ago started seeing a counselor to help me with my thinking and behaviors. It has helped so far.
Wow, this was so insightful. I know it's hard for alcoholic parents these days to get the help that they need, but this video really puts the message out there. It's very inspiring!
This a very informative video. Not only did I enjoy watching it but it kept me attentive because I was learning things that I had not known about the matter before. After seeing this, it makes me want to pay more attention to the matter.

Great use of imagery.
Agree, the song was a good pick, and great as a backdrop.
The message was great and appreciate that you wrapped it up with how to get help, and a message that the recommendation helped you personally.
Great job

I really enjoyed watching this video. Very enlightening
This is a good way to bring awareness to an issue that many people are faced with.
Plus, I like the song :-)
