Yes, that is a rifle barrel. For most rifles and shotguns the barrel can be done and holds up well.
I do not coat the barrel on AR-15's or any rifle that may have someone rapid fire multiple clips. That may be too much heat for the coating and darken or burn it.
I like the clips you are holding the film with. Did you make those are but them?
