If you drop the text just a little under the grid the effect might be stronger since it would look like the text had melted an dhence the water was there. This was the water is kiond of 'unexplained'..
the problem you had with the lines is caused because you didnt remesh the text after converting it.. this would have given you a clean mesh to play with
overall a good tut but i was hoping the text would melt lol
Thanks a lot for this video, man. Really helped :) One question, though. Do you know how to get rid of the sharp lines that go across the text? Smoothing didn't really work for me. I'm getting a fair bit of it, so any help would be appreciated :)
@TheAJSystem You tried messing with the different brush types? Theoretically, the smooth brush should smooth it out. You could also try using the grow brush and then smoothing it, to try to get it less noticeable.
@CrypticMass Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :D My first tutorial was about Gimp's path tool. . . I don't remember it well, but i imagine it is most likely subpar :P But if you still need the link, it's watch?v=9Jt-MJv73Pg
Great tut btw

@Indiemusicianstube Well, it could be explained that the edges aren't sharp, as if it was just taken from the mold, but thanks for the feedback :D

@TheAJSystem What sharp lines, exactly? Like when you turn text into a mesh?
JosephsPlace 3 weeks ago
@JosephsPlace They happen after putting the bumps into the text mesh. You start talking about it at 17:28. :)
