  • I was one of those white kids who got into PE back in the 80s and I have to say I wouldn't be the person I am now without Nation... and Black Planet. PE was my first real intro to identity politics, and it helped me understand a culture that I otherwise wouldn't have. Can't agree with everything they say, but then again, I can't agree with everything my parents say either. Though their message was aimed at their own community, they had an impact on millions of white kids in a positive way.

  • @mikebythesun Well, it takes a big person to tell the truth and you get mad points for keeping it real! I got into Public Enemy when I was in college and Chunk D was the one who got me into more of my African Ancestory, and mainly showed me that its all about TRUE knowledge of self!

  • This makes me sad. PE preachin' their best militant chit to a bunch of white folks. Oh and I'm white. lol

  • @bkwebb2 - As long as those white folks in crowd are down with the cause - I have no problem with it.

  • @Grooveraider I agree. Where would the civil rights movement be if there were no brave white people down with the cause???

  • @bkwebb2 Doesn't that mean they've made progress?

  • krazy dope!
