  • and thats how you git er' done!

  • Nice Recovery ! Is there any situation where you would not want to use the seatbelts as a lifting point?

  • @jeffsearls I am 6-7 and if you ever see an instructor called Jay or (big Jay) ask him what he thinks about this. Also Donnie Cruse would probably not agree on your knowitall spelling. I won't block you because you are a fellow Wreckmaster but I would never want you to be on an accident scene with me. See ya in the ditch? I hope not

  • @GordyMariFilms see you in the ditch

  • @franwake13 best comment so far!

  • @GordyMariFilms im 4/5 cert, i quit towing, to much bs to go with it

  • Nicely done but i'm not sure about using the seat belts. I would use load tested chains for safety reasons. If a seatbelt has activated during the crash you cant rely on its strength or if the seat belt mounting would not rip from the body after the damage the vehicle received. Plus if the seat belt snapped while being lifted and injured some one here in the UK. The recovery operator would be liable and face prosecution. So the correct way would be lifting chains i think. Better safe than sorry.

  • @AUTORECOVERYUK read comment above please.

  • @AUTORECOVERYUK test strength of a seat belt is 6000 pounds..Excuse me? cause damage to what? The vehicle was a complete total...Some of you will just never get it.

  • @GordyMariFilms besides, the seat belts mout directly onto the frame

  • @joek0617 This is a unibody vehicle, there is no frame.

  • @GordyMariFilms Seatbelts make great snatch ropes

  • @GordyMariFilms i never knew that a seatbelt would be able to lift a car like that or that much weight! :) btw, how did you get the seatbelt to lock so it dont come out all the way?

  • @GordyMariFilms I have to agree with you on that. Face prosecution? What country is he from?

  • @AUTORECOVERYUK If the seat belt snapped, there should be no one around to injure, with the exception of the tow operator. I refuse to touch a lever if someone's close enough to be injured by my truck, that includes cops and emergency personnel.

  • @AUTORECOVERYUK got the job done so who cares, when i lift i make sure i use the 25 metre rule if you dont use it your dumb

  • i would ahve used a liift strap and went through the doors and use both hooks.. thats just me..

  • I am a Towtruck driver in Kamloops British Columbia Canada What a great idea! with the seatbelts so fast and easy! I think there would be a limit to what cars you could use this on but still great idea!

  • Using the vehicles seatbelts for recovery work is neither professional nor is it a common practice for experienced operators.

  • Ever hear of Wreckmaster? They teach it!

  • this looks almost identical to the accient our son had and the Explorer ended up on top of the guardrail. good stuff

  • It mind blowing how people get their cars in places like that. Today I saw a wreck that had one car on the right ditch, and the other 4 lanes, a median, ditch, then up on the train track on the left side. Amazing.

  • people never cease to amaze me Dave. Pretty scary out there at times.

  • Thats an ouch. least that car's pretty light.. whats left of it anyways... dodge stratus?

  • Great job and efficient to boot! Keep the videos coming, I'm getting my towing/recovery fix through the vids. I've done exactly one tow in the last five months. Heck, the wrecker hasn't even moved in a couple of weeks.

  • aww thanks. I have a lot of new footage I will be adding soon Tim just trying to get up to date on the change here. Thanks for hanging with me!
