  • i grew up down the street from these guys :) holy shit i havent heard them in forever

  • I skanked to this song with a fat, sweaty, hairy, drunk, shirtless guy at Ska Massive 2010 :DDD Best two minutes of my life xD

  • I pledge to vote down any whining, hate speech, anything about Bieeber, and anything that remarks about the number of dislikes.

  • @GreenLizard1000 and thumbwhore comments. amen.

  • dope fast

  • Comment removed

  • well, it really isnt fair to make fun of the 8 people who disliked this vid. i mean, its not there fault they have down syndrome.

  • @The5050channel If you're going to make a retard joke, at least use correct grammar. Also it's Down's Syndrome.

  • @The5050channel What's your excuse?

  • The horns and the tune is better in this one imo, the voice as well, seems like you're at a show watching the stage

  • I like this one more than the Streetlight version, but Streetlight is one of my favorite bands so don't start yelling at me. The music is all by the same guy so stop arguing, geez.

  • if you think about it... this is reall hood music haha.. the only difference with rap and this... they speak real..

  • THis sounds like something you'd hear off a scooby doo chase scene..

  • @FRAGNITION This is why it's so awesome.

  • fuck off shit cock this guy sings rly too fast and ffs i love this catch 22 owns!! my favorite band ever!

  • I like Streetlight Manifesto better as a band, But Catch's Keasby Nights fucking owned :D

  • ....what?

  • I like how I can sing as fast as him :D

  • @Peace0Love0Music1 Sounds like the giraffes birthday, don't lose it now.

  • i wish i could spit as fast as him. he would own twista any day!!

  • @imspicy13 give it time, with practice its not as hard as it sounds

  • i was lookind for another song by Catch .. cant remember the name but the lyrics go : "When they come for me ill be sitting at my desk with a gun in my hand wearing a bullet proof vest , singin'my my my how the time time does fly when you know you're gonna die by the end of the night" can anyone help me out here?

  • @rickface13 it's called Keasbey Nights

  • @rickface13 point/counterpoint. it's also off keasbey nights.

  • @LeperMessiah247 thnx man i appreciate it

  • @LeperMessiah247

Point/Counterpoint is off Everything Goes Numb....

  • @M3RCxAndxAJACKS you're right, and i already knew that. i confuse myself.

  • streetlight manifestos is hands down my favorite band and i personally like them better than catch. but this song is probably better by catch

  • Catch 22 and Streetlight are like father and son i guess. A member of Streetlight was originally in Catch 22, but Catch kicked him out and kept playing the songs he wrote, which is why Streetlight redid all the songs, so they could take the songs back from Catch. I like Catch better than Streetlight though.

    Skank on brothers

  • @Cheezypoof30 he didnt get kicked out, creative differences and he left,

he wrote the songs, the creative inspiration should have rights to the song he didnt take them back he kept what was his

  • I thought this band was called Streetlight Manifesto. Am I missing something?

  • the trumpet player in this song is... ridonculous.

  • The difference between Streetlight's video comments and catch 22's video comments are that Catch 22's comments are always talking about Streetlight while Streetlight's video comments are just talking about how awesome the band is.

  • @xXergosumXx

I noticed this also, kind of funny.

  • @xXergosumXx that's only because of all the damn streetlight fans. i like kalnoky's catch 22 rawness.

  • I think the singer is in a hurry hahaha

  • D: streetlight manifesto copied er something amiright?

  • @LordLoss8 yeah but this was most of slm's first band so their record label made them redo the album

  • catch 22 > SLM

  • catch and slm are awesome no matter how u slice it

  • catch 22 obviously wins keasbey knights, but we're talking about the past now. without kalnoky, they suck (no offense)

  • streetlight manifesto > catch 22

  • @roughanator kalnoky>catch 22

  • @roughanator fucking agreed

  • the text-to-speech transcription of Tomas's interview that he put at the end of streetlights version of 1234 explains it all

  • all time favorite catch 22 song

  • so bad fucking ass wow this song is sick.

  • definately a differance in the trumpets but both great in thier own respect.

  • both bands do a great job. all versions are great smoking and drinking songs so y do people complain, its not like you even know how to play a guitar even less trumpet or trombone like catch 22 or streetlight m. know how and bring everything together.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always thought Catch's horns sounded kinda sloppy compared to the Streetlight version, but they're growing on me...

  • I think it's just the recording quality of Streetlight. Live, they'd be equal, I'd say.

  • @rocketgem79 That's kinda what makes them sound good. Streetlight's horns are really sharp and crisp, but Catch 22's horns sound really raw and a bit more "old timey" sounding.

  • Man i dont see why ud say streetlight or catch are better theyre both amazing bands pure and simple theyre on equal levels

  • you're a wanna be.

  • Oh man... such a classic. My friends and I covered this song in our freshman year for our high school talent show. So fun.

  • Yup

  • this song owns! fuck yeah catch 22. this guy can sing stupid fast.

  • @o0starrynight0o no you dont know fast until... wait for it... STREETLIGHT MANEFESTO!!!!

  • @o0starrynight0o I agreee... I have been working on the songs for the past week.. I have this down... I amtrying to get down bloomfield ave... fml

  • this is awesome. ive been trying to sing it all the way through haha

  • i got into catch 22 a while ago, and never even knew about streetlight until like lastyear. hah.

i think streetlight is better, but i like catch22's keasbey nights album a lot better than streetlights. on&on&on is an awesome song too.

  • freakin awesome

  • 1:30 .... Absolutely amazing

  • nope not catch 22, streetlight.

  • strretlight is the band befor thomas kalnoky left and started streetlight but he also did a streetlight version of the album which is fuckin sweeet

  • this is Catch 22

  • Like I didn't know that?

    Streeetlight Manifesto KICKS ASS.

I know that this is Catch 22 you dumbass.

    Don't jump to conclusions.

  • ok sorry. Too many posers to be sure...you know?

  • Streetlight Manifesto kicks ass.

  • I like Catch's Keasbey Knights album better

  • Wolly Mammoth! ImaChorse! You listening to this now, i know.

    I luz youz.

  • frikin awesome ass song haha

  • great song. but i have no idea what it's about.

  • @ClayManSteve its about a group of people going to rob a bank and jack and jill are the only ones left and they turn on each other in the end..... does this make sence to you now?

  • i agree

streetlight and catch 22 are totally different bands

  • Different bands? yes. TOTTALY different bands, I think not.

  • They are very different. Catch's new vocalist is way too poppy

  • Auugh, I've listened to this song (and its album) a million times over the years, and it'll never get old.

    Kalnoky-era Catch 22 = fucking genius.

  • Anyone who says "Catch 22 and Streetlight are the same band with different members" is talking out of their asses. The Keasbey Night albums are the same, of course, but to compare Catch 22's material without Tomas to Somewhere in the Between and Everything Went Numb is just ignorant. They sound nothing alike.

  • Now there are musicians that were in both bands, and to say they sound nothing alike just leads me to believe you need your ears checked bruv.

  • You like whichever you were introduced first in terms of streetlight manifesto and catch 22. Personally i love catch 22 but mostly because i heard them first, and streetlight is almost the same band

  • @tophie524 that will change.... i was the same way..... once you get more into streetlight you'll realize how much better they are... but i still like catch's keasbey nights sooo much better

  • this is deff a power song. the drums just bring the energy that streetlight cant match

  • Catch has the power, but Streetlight has a much more clearer sound. They are both very cool bands^^

  • other way around dude

  • ya lol my bad thats what i meant

  • who cares which is better. you can have your own opinion, but no need to fight over whose is right. both streetlight and catch 22 kick ass.

  • I like Catch's version. Who calls them 22? but yeah anyways, Tomas said in an interview that he wasn't necessarily happy with the way the SLM turned out. He said it was rushed. Also he didn't even want to rerecord it. He only did so to prevent Victory from rereleasing the Catch 22 one. And for those who say it is more polished, yes it's true, but there is something about the Catch version even though it has mediocre sound quality, to me it has soul which the SLM version doesn't. Thats just me.

  • U gotta remember, streetlight is made more for its fine quality, and catch for its energy. That being said, catch 22 had a part in helping create the songs, they felt the energy in the songs and put it out in the way they play it. SLM didn't, and really didn't feel so much energy as catch did, although the horns and sound quality are much cleaner. Its just like trying to cover an operation ivy, you just cant match their energy that they played with

  • yes however streetlight's bassist could kick catch's bassist ass. blindfolded.

  • Streetlight's bassist is my old math teacher's brother. haha

  • yeah man, the scratchy, edgy feeling of it is what Ska music is all about

  • but Streetlight has never said they we definite ska. Thomas stated it himself. They don't have a label, and they don't want to be considered 3rd wave. hence, riding the 4th wave...

  • @bibbsy123abc tom said he wasn't happy with the catch version not the SLM cause it was rushed u got them backwards

  • @bibbsy123abc

That and end the ending of SLM's version of 1234 1234 is kind of irritating. I mean I understand that there's an underlying message theyd like to give us, but after the first time it's just like fuck man where'd the music go?

  • street light aswesome so is 22

  • cause you and your band suck

  • SLM beats catch 22... they failed once Kalnoky left

  • the one song me and my band cant cover.

  • punk just evolved.

all these sceneyweenie metalcore kids owe their entire lifestyle to punks.

enjoy what's new and fresh, just don't be afraid to laugh at it also.

  • umm... ska doesnt equal punk, skapunk is just a subgenre, a rather uncommon one at that. Dont expect it to become the new "scene"

  • But there HAS been a skapunk/skacore scene. Havent you heard of the 3rd wave? Been around since the 80s-90s

  • Due to just getting into SLM and hearing that before this I may have a different view than the rest of you. I'm also a big sound geek. I like SLM's version of this album better than Catch 22's. Catch 22's version sounds lke demos. There's unneeded distortion and reverb that's caused by poor equipment. It buggs me.

Also in SLM's version of 1234 1234 the computer voice says "no matter what, this record will piss people off. And at the end of the day that's all that matters" Food of thought.

  • I agree, Mcjoebudy. I also think that the SLM has plenty of energy. I also like that it is more polished, and the audio sounds better. I'm not putting down Catch 22, but I personally prefer Streetlight's version. Plus, they are Tomas' songs, he can do whatever he wants with them.

  • i have to say this:

SLM is a great band and i love all their work except for there rendition of Keasbey Nights. I love that album, its my all time favorit, but SLM ruined it. Keasbey Nights is my all-time favorit song and gets me pumped evertime i hear it, But SLMs version has no energy, theres no exitment. When i first heard it, I noticed that it was lazy. Im sorry, they cant top catch22's album, and i think it was stupid for SLM to even try.

  • SLM is Kalnoky's band too lol

  • ya i know

  • Actually, Tom Kalonky, wrote the songs when he was the frontman of Catch. They're his songs, and his album. When Victory wanted to re-release it, in 2006 Tom said, Let me re-record it with streetlight. It's not a middle finger.

If you want a middle finger of sorts pointed at Catch, look up the streetlight song, a moment of silence.

  • I love Punk, and I mean ALOT, my band tried out this song, but my singer couldn't sing that fast, prettey stupid right?? But still this song fucking rocks!!!!! Keep it up Catch!!

  • Ska, man. Ska.

  • Dude, I'm a singer for a ska band and trust me singing this fast is hard. If you actually want to be saying all the lyrics instead of mumbling it takes a lot of practice.

  • What's your band?

  • Comment removed

  • did streetlight make a verson of this?

  • ya...

  • They actually covered the whole album. Catch tried to sue but they lost, so Keasbey Knights as performed by Streetlight Manifesto is like a big "fuck you" from Kalnoky to Catch.

  • ya but streetlight destroyed the keasbey nights album, cause the recording made his voice all fucked up,.....but im glad they did cause now streetlight plays Keasbey songs live, and the live versions sound just like the original catch 22 versions.

Streetlight live is soooo much better, tomas's voice is not ment to be played with under all that computer bullshit.

  • I'm not sure you can call it a cover. They ARE his songs. He wrote them and owned the rights to them. (Which is why the lawsuit failed, you'll recall.)

Whatever it is, just enjoy it.

  • ja boyo good song monn

  • agreeddd

  • My friend hates this song and I'm like what the fuck? you call your self a punk???

  • "hey motherfucker who's the fool?"

  • lit a cigarette and im walking out the door....

  • It would be this and On&on&on

  • na thinking abotu things is a fast song by catch 22..but i think it was a new singer

  • fastest catch 22 song

  • Giving up Giving in in my opinion, but this one actually has horns.

  • why do so many people hate punk?

  • I dont love it :P

  • i dont love punk but i dont hate it

  • punk is cool i dont know 1 person who dose not like punk

  • punks great

but its also dead- as great as bands like anti flag and nofx are, real punk is the old stuff that happened in cbgbs way back when, like the ramones and the dead boys.

and yes, im prepared to get shit for saying that lol

  • Punk never died... punk bands still exist, there might even be more and in more forms. Yeah its evolved from what it used to be, but that doesn't mean its died. You still have great bands (although they go into other genres): Bomb The Music Industry!, Scared of Chaka, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Kid Dynamite, Propaghandi (their slightly older stuff), etc., point is, you cant just say something died... I'm sorry for the rant, but I cant stand when people say 'punk is dead'....

  • no, its fine. i was expecting a rant with lines like 'thisisspinaltap, youre a gay faggot' so i applaud you for not doing that.

but the entire attitude changed towards it. punk, typically, now has a very anti-government approach to it. old punk (i'll refrain from saying real punk) wasn't about that at all. if the music changed, thats one thing. but everything from the subjects, attitude, and even clothing styles changed.

  • Haha, you are welcome sir.

I mean, it has always been straight D.I.Y. music, but I dont think it has changed. There are definitely those bands that take the anti-government approach, and they definitely have their niche within the scene... but at the same time, there are bands that dont talk about those things much at all and are still considered punk, and fun...

  • Part 2:

and the thing about the subjects, style attitude, clothes... thats one of my favorite things about punk... you can look like whatever and talk about whatever and still be accepted in the punk scene, from defiance, ohio (folk punk) to minor threat... all are still punk without the same feel and attitude

  • In Punk, there is no acceptance. Things just are and judgment isn't passed. That's the beauty, there is nothing to be accepted since Punk is the antithesis to Society's rules and structure. There are no "scenes", only the scene that is not.

  • Agreed.

  • dont u know the term ska? this isnt just punk.... its SKAPUNK

  • your all douche bags

  • you're*

  • grammar fail douche.

  • wow you got me!! oh man how will i ever recover?

  • you can recover by typing better.

  • You Cant Say Punk Is Dead Because Punk Is Undefinable.

  • both bands are great. however, catch 22's keasbey nights album is slightly bttr than streetlights. its less smooth u kno?

  • what does SKA and SLM stand 4 anyway?

  • i dont know what slm stands for but ska is jazz and reggea and punk all together... and it makes music like this song... and many more... listen to voodoo glow skulls

  • SKA is the style of music, it doesnt stand for anything. And SLM is Streetlight Manifesto, which is the band that the lead singer of Catch 22 is in now, they do some of the same songs as Catch 22, similar style but SLM do faster stuff.
