  • I love this guy !! Amazing ! I took one lesson from Scott Johnson and studied with Ron Ziebart for about six months..I love where this guy has taken it !!

  • Monster xD

  • How can you not get first

  • this guy can play but loose the star wars outfit ok dyNASTY

  • OMG....Thats Kevlar. That is tough to break.

  • @08Pearldrummer actually with as tight as you crank a marching snare, it's not as hard as you would think.

  • @owenjarchow Still impressive. It's a demanding amount of force, especially after the chop-burner of a solo that he played for minutes on end.

  • disqualified for sucking

  • I was hoping he would just break the whole drum after his 2011 solo

  • My computer makes alien noises when he plays..... sick.

  • wtf! i liked it until he stabbed the drum

  • sound quality=Dynasty

  • How do you know when Drew Guy is done? He stabs his drum.

  • who won that year i am dying to know

  • @shadofreally drew guy did.

  • @shadofreally Andrew Odello.

  • the 11 people that disliked this were the 2010 BD snareline

  • SICK!!!!!

  • @snareplaya15 Drew was NOT disqualified for drumhead stab, nor did he receive a penalty for time. Thanks

  • @snareplaya15 Drew WAS NOT disqualified for drumhead stab, nor did he receive a penalty for anything else. Thanks.

  • he didn't get last place, well he did, but only cuz he was DQ'd cuz he stabbed the drum head

  • This got last place????? LMAO Wowww

  • @theDCnerd

The only thing I can figure is that his technique was a bit poor when he got faster on certain sections.

  • Those chairs in the back ground look comfy!

  • hahaa " ho haa HA WHOO!!"

  • Comment removed

  • most other guys cant play half the stuff his playing. their chops cant process that stuff yet. why does he deserve 11?

  • @rikuantu Because it's not very musical, it's mainly stick tricks :o

  • @poopmcdoopdoop What? i saw like 6 flips/spins

  • He killed it!....literally

  • amd he got dead last...

  • 3:45 there must have been snare guts everywhere..

  • that gock at 1:00 .... DAMN!

  • holy shit man.

  • He definitely made that up on the spot

  • @Fromthechaosoflife. No penalties.

  • Adding to favorites.........

  • Lol fuck who ever is booing them lmfao. That was amazing. :)

  • @uselessheart13 They aren't saying Boo. They are saying BLOOOOOOOOOOO, since he is from Bluecoats.

  • @BradleyMellophone lol let the uninformed complain, it's funny to watch :D

  • @uselessheart13 They're not booing they're "Blooing" since he's part of the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps and yes it was amazing haha

  • @TWLB17 Drew's dad was at MTSU so he was with him. :)

  • holy david bowie, lady gaga, jesus

  • What's the song called?? lol

  • @lucky258i Something like... "Ha ha, ho hoo! Bzzz, gat! Gat Gat, fleggidut fleggidut asdlkafljdgfjsd;flsdmfdlsmf;sm!" :D

  • @lucky258i through the fire and flames

  • Does anyone know what place he came in? Did he get first?

  • @TheSpaceInvaderer i think he got 10th actually, and he is an awesome drummer and very talented, it's just composition wise it wasn't as prepared, very beefy, but musically it was hindered. either way this guy is a beast.

  • @TheSpaceInvaderer he got like 8th because he was penalized for the stick through the head.

  • That's a chop builder.

  • Since everyone's bashing dynasty I guess I can say.... You can't spell dynasty without NASTY

  • @sport1mandi And you can't spell fuck without U!

  • I met him yesterday!

  • @skaterfan105 Where was he? haha I would see all of the snares walking around the mtsu campus except him.

  • @TWLB17 lol I tracked him down at the bus

  • Took me like 30 minutes to watch the whole video because I kept jizzing all over my screen and had to pause and clean up before I continued...

  • Dude this is fucking awesome

  • The stab makes my life.

  • I love you.......

  • dynasty does suck...

  • Only Drew would put a stick through a Kevlar Head

  • @witchofrivia And Matt Regua

  • nice solo

  • Drew...what'd the drum do to you to deserve being stabbed by your stick

  • 11th my ass

  • I like how after he stabbed the drum, he's like, "Should I pull the stick out?" Then he's like, "Fuck it."

  • Chuck Norris can do that with one hand

  • I don't see how he was cocky at all. He looked like he was just having fun while playing it. He's from bluecoats and they always have fun while playing. It's inspiring to me.

  • 7 people tried to put their stick through their drum but failed...

  • 3:44 Great, no wonder the tour fees for Bluecoats raised.

  • @FlamDragon69 DO you know that most dci cores switch out heads every week? O.o

  • @bballerken167 If they did that every week, then Remo would go bankrupt. Common sense.

  • @FlamDragon69 how about i talked to a couple people who did drum corps.

  • @bballerken167 How about no. It's called profit for a reason.

  • 0:00 repeat button

  • nice

  • Dear God Drew Guy.... You're awesome. Nuff said...

  • Comment removed

  • I would like this video a thousand times more. period.

  • anybody else think this kid looks like Nick Swardson?

  • Whoever disliked this must've thought he was too cocky. Well, that's what you're supposed to be if you're Drew Guy.

  • @NoahMAngott he is too cocky but i didnt dislike it. its too awsome to even try to dislike it. he made that crappy yamaha sound like a dynasty. you cant get better than that

  • @TheDragonmaster18 please tell me you aren't referring to the cocaine addict Corey thinks he's too good for everyone else because he is always high and has a vic firth plug. That fucker got super fat and gained all kinds of weight after corps, as all Blue Devils do, that drumline is full of the world's biggest coke heads that are losers you never want to meet, with or without the stuff, wait, no, better make that with, to give them SOME confidence. i feel like killing a coke using blue devil

  • @TheDragonmaster18 dude...dynasty sucks... ALOT.... they fall apart sooo much

  • @bballerken167 they sound better than pearls or any other drum. also i have never heard of a drumline complaining about dynasty drums falling apart. if so wouldnt dynasty have to take all of their drums back to referbish them then re sell them again or even go out of buisness for that matter

  • @TheDragonmaster18 they aren't free floating at all. when you get a dynasty now a days you have to drill in your brand new drum so you can put a harness on it. it is like dynasty loves to drill into drums. they fall apart so much it is ridiculous look it up. and no one can tune it right cuz they suck too much

  • @bballerken167 oh ok. know wonder ive seen alot showstyle lines use them. since most of them use strpas there's no need for them to drill anything into the drum. but if you want to hear a good sounding dynasty drum look up norfolk state university drumline. they use dynasty drums and they sound pretty good

  • @TheDragonmaster18 If you were center snare of a top 5 corps for 3 years in a row, would you not deserve to be a little "cocky"... which, by the way, he is not... Most definitely not. And just because Dynasty's are super expensive doesn't mean that they're awesome, to be honest, It's a Yamaha vs Pearl game, Dynasty's are overpriced, heavy and boxy. Why would you want a snare to sound like a box? I guess it'd be okay if you like your snares and tenors to blend together...?

  • i stopped at 0:00 , couldn't even watch the whole thing

  • Soo... this is what it sounds like to compress an entire show into four minutes?

  • what happened i blacked out

  • great performance, u and andrew odello's are the 2 to remember from 2010.

  • So pretty much, he plays the snare, blows YOUR FACE OFF!!! and then walks off. Yeah...I'm just tired after watching him. Love the end. IN YOUR FACE!!! :)

  • @jackhammer10101. Do you have personal experience? I would bet that Mr. Float would not care to have his name being used in a negative way. It is easy to be a harsh critic when you don't have to use your name or you are not the one on film. As Drew's Mom, there are plenty of things I could say, but ignoring comments that you don't agree with is the best way to avoid being "attacked."

  • lol 2:10- 2:25 bluecoats drum break/closer

then does it with 2 sticks .. <3 drew guy

  • lol 2:10- 2:25 bluecoats drum break/closer

  • MY ARM AND STICK STRONGUH DEN BOOLEHT FRUM GAHN!!

  • teachers hated him..he was that one kid always beating on the desk lol..this is pretty sicc.

  • @SNAREDOOD6969 You spelled 3 words correctly out of 14. You might want to work on that before you start calling other people "domb".

  • @SNAREDOOD6969 Oh nooo, tenth place. That's so terrible...wait, no, it's still fucking ridiculous

  • There is no musicality, it's just drum rolls and fancy drum stick tricks.

  • @TheSmoothCriminal

YOU BETTER WATCH OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i said the SAME thing you said 2 months ago.....and i had A WHOLE BUNCH OF little kids bark at me......BTW you are correct.....however there is low quality chops....he is not getting enough energy out of the drum head for proper bounce control.....the sticks look almost dead and he has to reset his position each passage.

  • Now that is some crazy good snare drummin'

  • imagine if the head didnt break xD

  • @gangstasoarousrex101 bluecoats.

  • hey stop hatin on drew guy, hes better than all you! now shut up!

  • WHO THE FUCK BOO'D

  • @jakubrox19 *Bloo'd

  • @jakubrox19 they say DREW :P

  • @foldenauerm @jackhammer10101. In My son's words when he heard his score and placement..."it doesn't matter." Debate, as well as opinions, are healthy. Luckily, Drew likes being part of a team! Enjoyed reading your comments.

  • BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • simply amazing.

  • BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • @maydevilcry345. Drew ages out this year.

  • good stick tricks and tempo control....but no chops.....atleast compared to 70's 80's and 90's.snare drummers.........

  • @jackhammer10101 Yeah and he didn't do any hip hop dancing like in drumline either. I assume you're one of the aforementioned 70's 80's or 90's snare drummers. That being the case, there's a better than even chance that your brain doesn't even WORK fast enough to appreciate what this man is doing. It probably just sounds like bzzzzzzzztztzzzzzztzzzz to you. "No chops"? That's like saying Tony Hawk is an OK skateboarder, but his board is not banana shaped enough to be as radical as the 70s

  • @foldenauerm

i humbly say you are incorrect.....i am the biggest loser in the world right now....WHY? no,no that s not why.

i am the biggest loser in the world right now because i possess one of the best sets of knowledge in WHOLE WORLD !!!!!!

my instructors: (percussion) Dave Dillulo, Glen Crosby, Ralph Hardimon, Tom Float, student of Freddy Gruber. (jazz education) Steve Wilkerson,Don Gunderson

Dude, Buddy Rich is easy for me to transcribe so yes.this guys notes are symbolically a TURTLE

  • @jackhammer10101 God, you're a cocky little shit.

  • @foldenauerm

and why i am a loser? because i have not done anything and taken advantage of this education, yet...

thats like having $10 billion and not buying or investing anything for 10 years...just marrying women and getting divorces.....get it....the half life will decrease the money each divorce....

  • @foldenauerm

btw just incase u dont know.....glen crosby and hardimon ran SCV...i am sure you know Tom Float......Freddy Gruber teaches the best jazz drummers in the world.....dave weckl... vinny calhouta

and steve wilkerson was stan getz's lead sax in the 70's ...don gunderson is one of the best jazz educators in the world..

  • @foldenauerm

look up steve campbell, kevin murray, jay dold, scott johnson, jeff queen. ivan pacheco...

and then tell me i am slow

  • @foldenauerm

scott johnson 1982 solo...atleast he was as young as drew....better to compare...also dave dillulo was meatier and better than steve cambell, but he dropped a stick during his solo...both marched center snares for Tom Float in 1986...kevin murray and jay dold 1987... jeff queen won 1994 and 1995(i was in VK with jeff queen in 1991), and ivan pacheco won recently...

  • @jackhammer10101

You may have a plethora of knowledge that anyone can find on Wikipedia... but I've yet to see your own name mentioned anywhere, so I can figure out how great a drummer you are. All I know is that you've marched Velvet Knights in 1991, which does not qualify you to rag on Drew Guy's playing... At all... Until you are center snare of a top 3 drumline for 3 years in a row, and take gold at WGI, you can't rag on Drew. Stop trolling.

  • @foldenauerm

its not making fun of drew...its stating a fact that the center snares i marched with were light years better...

this is not a hissy fit of stupidity...it started with a truth...you actually said, snare players in the 70s 80s and 90s are worse? look...go ask an instructor...what you said is not true...everyone i know says the older snare drummers were way better...i instruct drums.....

whether you believe me or not....it does not matter.....i could instruct drew right now.....

  • @foldenauerm

you what i would tell him? the same thing i have been saying...you have good tempo control but your diddles are thin and flat...

then i would put on the metronome and tell him to do the 1e& grid pattern...then with diddles...i would find out he crushes the diddles and plays on the backside of the beat......then i would tell drew to open up and put space between his notes and then push the beat...make sure you hear the eighth note check pattern.IT MUST SOUND LIKE ONE HAND PLAYING

  • @foldenauerm

BTW did you look at Jeff Queen's 1995 solo?

if you want a taste of strength from the past look at "1994 cadets drumline" by nmolenda

type "1994 cadets drumline" in the youtube bar....and you tell me if that line is easy....

my brother has been instructing for years ...he received a championship ring in 1993 cadets...

we were in the thick of great drum corps in the 90s

  • @jackhammer10101 honestly I have no respect for you. You may have marched some amazing corps with amazing people but what kind of justice are you getting arguing with idiots on youtube. congratulations, you've officially reduced yourself from a respectable percussionists to an annoying youtuber.

  • @kas36spires

i agree...but you have to know one thing !!! there are ALOT of people (KIDS) that know little and say they know too much.... i gave advice at first that Tom Float or Crosby would give me ... so i passed on a comment...pretty harmless...

well then i got some back talk and rude guys that cant take a simple comment and turned it into a fiasco....

Though this not the only site !!! this has been going on for a year on 20 different sites...

I AM FED UP OF THIS DECADE !!!

  • @kas36spires

cont'd.....they dont know how to drum...i have seen the best lines and best drummers.....and this decade drummers are getting worse and worse....as Tom Float teaches....kids are not learning how to drum, they are learning the specific piece of music for that year over and over again....until they get it in time and cleaner...

that is not how you drum, Float says, you become a great drummer and then add yourself to 9 other great drummers and you have a line....

  • @jackhammer10101 well you have to expect that with technology. You may get smartasses yes, you also may think every kid who plays through shows on youtube with their little pad and sticks suck too. The way i look at it is people are interested in the activity and ENJOY IT. Some kids are pricks and think they know it all, yes. you IGNORE them. Just enjoy a great activity for what it's worth. You don't know if every person in this generation is a poor percussionist so please stop assuming.

  • Did he age out?

  • @fchguy they were "blooing.". It's what fans yell for Bluecoats.

  • Who ever was "booing" him, I wanna see you go up there and do that

  • @fchguy

    ur a dip shit haha

  • @fchguy they're not booing... You must be new the the (blue)coats

  • At first I thought he saw a bug on his snare after he said title in the beggining. But boy did he kill that bug.

  • I bet the judges hated this guy!!!!

  • i heard the part from god bless america in there.... very nice job btw..... u killed it, and the drum too...........

  • Nice...

  • i like it alot hes a very good player obvs i just with there were more notes than tricks but thats just my opinion

  • ok........so which 6 people got the thumbs up button confused with the thumbs down????? hmmm, i wanna know this instant... i mean clearly they must be blind and so they didnt realize the error of their ways. well i will help you out. the thumbs up is the opposite of what you pushed originally

  • @pvbandgeek maybe they were thumbs downing because of cruelty? cruelty towards the snare drum. snare drum cruelty is an issue people, an issue that needs to be taken seriously..not :P

  • those VISUALS >_>

  • "Fuck yo couch snare drum" (stab)

  • This dude must have a huge cock.

  • 6 People cant stab a drumstick through a kevlar head

  • i just hear a wall of awesome

  • Laughing to myself as I realize I've always told Drew to put up or shut up.....That's why he never talks!! I love you son!! You make me proud everyday!

  • @yogibearx15000 blooing.

  • Were they blooing him at the end or booing him? Also, I absolutey love Guy and Bluecoats, but damn that was cocky.

  • I loved the MCM 2010 opener at the end. Awesome show.

  • he wants to smile and laugh sooooooo bad at the end of that. i would've just been like, yeah bitch, i just put a stick through a kevlar head. fyi, I'M BADASS.

  • @KLiQsan have you ever tried it? it is not hard at all.

  • @FOSSIL13drums HOW DO YOU DO THAT?!

  • @bballerken167 I'm on a snareline of 4 and when I step off the field, according to the band director, the snareline's volume is cut in half. Not to be cocky or anything, but I have some good chops. I can play just as fast as the next guy but at like two times the power. Thats how you tear through Kevlar drumheads. 2 Evans Hybrids and 1 Remo WhiteMax (the tech thought changing the heads would keep me from breaking them. He was wrong haha)

  • @FOSSIL13drums no there just not that strong haha we had a guy pop a new head with a rim shot

  • @treythedrummer1 wel another big part i how well they are tensioned. If You just crank the drum head as tight as it'll go right when you put it on it'll snap pretty quickly. You have to give drumheads the chance to stretch out before you krank them to the desired tension.

  • @FOSSIL13drums ......................

  • very artistic title.

  • Comment removed

  • "here it is."

  • @drumgameguy91 really? I'm disappointed in you. :(

  • he deserves 11th he has been nothing but cocky since i was on the high school drumline with him and he sucked so bad!! he wouldnt be this good if it werent for mike doss just saying

  • @Drumgameguy91 He got better by getting up and doing something. At this point, he deserves to be as cocky as he wants. He's reached the highest status of a DCI snare player can get.

  • @SasquatchGroove did you go to school with him, have him as your teacher, and know him for 9 years?? don't think so

  • @Drumgameguy91 I dont have to do any of those to know you just want his skills.

  • @Iwanttodrumwell I lol'd for about an hour at that comment. lol
