  • 1:12 reminds me of that clip of family guy thats like "Steriotypical White Guy in an Airport" where Peter is talking really loud on his cell hahaha. Anyway, this is a great video, keep it up guys!

  • lol

  • he sounds like a native japanese speaker, specially when he told that anecdote

  • In the US, we use cell phones to avoid awkward situations or social activities, lol.

  • I love your t-shirt, Gorge!! :D

  • the white guy is funny, and his really good in japanese language

  • I wouldn't have pushed him, I would have thrown him on the line.

  • loooooooooooool xD

  • also, dont kill, dont steal, dont cheat.

  • Common sense

  • This guy is too fucking impressive his japanese is too good.

  • OMG! George's so freakin' good in Japanese ><

How long did it take him to learn that language?!

  • He is great !!

  • It's rude to talk loudly on your cell phone in the U.S. as well..

  • its weird in tokyo, they dont use mobile phones on the trains but they always keep their phones opened like theyre anticipating or waiting for a call

  • @pikakiko Cause if you make noise in Trains is consider rude.

  • shit this guy is amazing in japanese i wonder how many years it took him to speak it so fluently <3

  • WAT ABOUT TEXTING...

  • @otokugirl15 on a train you can text you just cant talk

  • @junaidjaatt ぎゃくに「おれアホちゃうで!日本語で話せるんねん!」っす。

  • i like his shirt with the pretty frog! good!

  • May i ask, what happens if its your mom and its an emergency? I understand it can be annoying but in some circumstances it must be understandable to use your phone on the train

  • yeah...never talk on your cellphone when you're in the train in tokyo. happen to me once. i forgot all about it..and people around me just starts staring.

  • 毋庸置疑

    感受

    稚嫩

    出口成章

  • Ha ha ha ha great video :D

    5/5 !!!

  • Funny stuff. I knew that there were some manners that you have to learn when you're in Japan, but the phone thing is new to me.

  • lol omg, you're awesome ;}

  • lol americans trying to be quiet. GOOD LUCK!

  • Lmao that guy is too funny!

    "I'm not some stupid foreigner!"

    "I can speak Japanese."

Your Japanese is pretty sweet. :)

  • @Nyasaru lol

  • Great video. Keep it up.

  • liar

  • People in Tokyo have a very skewed view of Kansai. People are NOT loud on the train in Kansai.

  • This guy sounds like Bill O'Reilly.

  • honestly your accent is very good. all english actors who act in japanese dramas for phew minutes don't speak japanese with the right accent. but you! you sound like a japanese guy ^^

  • いや、ちょっと違うと思うよ。10年前に比べたら、東京での通勤してる人はすげ~うるさいよ。半端ね~

  • japanese sounds so cool with an american accent

  • I love this show, Go George & Keiko!

  • I laughed my oshiri off after watching this.

  • LOL! That was great.

  • LOL

  • rofl..

  • hahahaha lol this giuy is funny lol i love the ending when he answered the question..

  • lol when i went on vacation to japan in the summer, my phone was out of batteries so i was just standing and i look at everyone and they're all just staring at their cellphones texting. lol. i was like mum? can we go back i need to charge my cellphone in japanese. everyone just stares at me like wtf kid! shut up!

  • Vous etes tres amusant! George parle japonais tres bon! Qu'elle suprise!

  • does anyone know the romanji for

"what are you doing? You wanna fight?"

  • I think its: Oi, nani shiten da omae, yaru ki ka ore wa

    If Im mistaken, please correct.

  • naniyattenndatemee~~kennkahoshiinoka?

  • lots of ways to say it...

but i dont want any trouble is probably better to learn...

something like shitsure shimashita sumimasen sumimasen

  • Hilarious! XD

  • lmao I laughed so much at the end, I hope i didn't wake anyone up here at home..

  • Me too, it's so funny.

  • awsome

  • your lesson is funny but you should speak more in japanese.

    thanks

  • LOL!!

  • whao!! im surpised how he can use japanese...haha he can roll his R's! ahah he sounds like a gangsters in those anime! ahahah hes good...

  • Hey! Kansai's awesome. whoops personal space i should have considered more. but it wasnt bad really. gave me the wrong idea when my host mum gave me a hug before she said anything to me X.X

She was great. But yeah I learned the space thing quickly.

Also seems that mobiles are okay in kansai. going on train from Osaka to sanda and back people on phones everywhere lol

  • it was funny, same thing happened to me when I was in Tokyo, but it was a guy sitting next to me. I started to whisper instead, but I still think he didn't like it. Also I didn't get shoved lol, or else somethin would of happened

  • lol, this reminds me when I was in Japan this summer. I was on the cell phone cause I had to really contact someone. and the guy sitting next to me looked at me really strange. I was like "wtf?" Well anyways, I was wispering on the phone, but I bet he still didn't like it. I wasn't even loud in the first place.

  • They want personal space, yet they try to stuff as many Japanese people in subway trains as they can?

  • that's different. and only in tokyo really.

I was in Kansai and trains were fairly empty

  • it depends on where you are in kansai

    osaka maybe packed sometimes shiga?

not so much mie? even less maybe...

  • haha dork!

  • lol thats funny -_^

  • I think a person talking on the cell phone on public faces is generally annoying... and I'm from the US. I particularly hate it in resturants.

  • geek

  • It's your fault man!! YOu should know manner

  • best taboo to avoid is being non japanese that way you will fit right in. seen many japs flip at foeringers using their cellphones on trains, they never say anything to japanese commuters.

  • Lowering your voice or avoiding cell phone calls in a close environment (train, elevator, diner table, etc) is a worldwide courtesy, not just Japan. It's just rude people who don't know this.

And that was a pretty harsh elbow to her dude, relax.

  • she knocked him out after the show

    :P

  • these videos are awesome. very funny.

  • Does anyone know if it's considered rude to text when you're on the train?

That thought just occured to me...

  • It's ok to text when you're on the train. That's part of the reson why texting is so popular in Japan.

  • ちょっとまて、関西も電車でうるさくしてたら迷惑やしタブーww

  • George,

I know they pretty much suck, but there are signs up everywhere in the trains saying 通話御遠慮ください

Following or breaking established rules has nothing to do with Japanese ability. I think you were in the wrong on this one.

  • I like your T-shirt.

  • hahahahahaha good things to know

  • Scary... (00)"

    But amusing... XD

  • eeew george is such a creep xD

  • haha xd

  • lol funny train story

  • funny

  • Lol, very funny!

  • Cell phones are devices for rude people lol. In the US, they're everywhere... people take them everywhere, talk on them all the time, and they use the walkie talkie everywhere too. Seriously, there is something wrong with a person if they need to be on the phone all the time. And 99 times out of 100, the calls aren't important, in fact many conversations on cell phones are meaningless. So you're paying 70$ plus a month for what really?

  • yeah, I dont even have a cell.

I refuse to even have one, friggin hate them.

  • who says "friggn"?

  • old timers and hippies

  • what kind of cellphone plan cost $70+?

  • alot especially if your buying your first

  • @AlucardsQuest

is it really $70 a month where you're from?

    wow.. mine's, like, $30.

  • hey...what's the name of song playing on the background?

  • I was on a bus in Japan and i desided to climb on this like self level thing, and i sat there, and i got yelled at!!! LOL! I wasn't do'n anything.. It looked like a good place to sit..

  • err... i missed the lesson...r u soposed to speak loud on the train? or not...? O_o

  • no you're not

  • ahaha, well I know japanese enough to understand them so.. (and it is subbed) and he spoke english.. well yeh you'r not supposed to speak loud in Tokyo, but in kansai it's okey.. it seems xD I have never seen a train in my life though

  • LOL おれはばか外人じゃね! 笑う!!!今からsubscribeします。よろしく。

  • good point

but look up Japan - Day 02 (a)

    it's not always the case

  • Keiko looks so different with longer black hair, but no less nice looking ;)

  • same i LOVE Japan, ever since i was a kid, so at the age of 13 it'll be easy for me to get fluent in japanese and aget a visa and all that ( visa i mean when im older...) anyways LOL George and Keiko or hilarious Lol

  • lol, funny story!

I want to learn how to speak Japanese fluently like that.

  • Hah! Well if you siad that real loud you just might have found out how many people on the train were pissed at you, heh.

  • I'm not Japanese but I could kill anyone who behaves that way on the train.
