Overall I think the motorella Droid is better if you're going for texting, but if you looking for a much faster/more recent phone get the incredible. The touchscreen keyboard for the HTC is well... Incredible

ok, everyone keeps choosing the incredible over the droid:

1) bc the incredible has sense w/ more homescreens,ect.- with droids 2.1 you can download new launchers such as launcherpro beta which is just as good as sense if not better with all the customization.

2)The processor speed- on droid you can root to up to 1.3 ghz safely(faster than the incredible) and there is no rooting on the incredible

i have had both phones and the incredible is far superior than the motodroid. for starters the motodroid is bulky compared to the incredible, keeping the motodroid in your pocket and doing anything is annoying and its physical keyboard is useless i type better drunk on the touch keyboard of the htc than i do soberly on the motodroids , although the motodroid has a few more mega pixels the htc is again a far more impressive display and brilliant colors. htc's speed is much faster on the 3g net

I have the moto droid but am thinking about switching since I am still within my return period. Anyone who likes keyboards from what I reviewed from Droid doesn't like its keyboard really because you can't feel the buttons. Other than that it has a better battery life. Other than those dos things the Incredible is just more superior.

you can download flash for the moto droid in the market. the incredible is faster and smoother, but i just got a moto droid the other day and i'm going to stick with it for its physical keyboard and battery life. technology IS moving way to fast though. in a month my phone will be ancient.

@ysabsovi BaboonMF -- Are you talking about Skyfire? It's a half-solution (or less than that, actually), and it doesn't play videos within the flash window. Lets not forget that other flash animations and apps won't work either. All Skyfire does it show you that a flash video is available on the site, and uses their servers to play the flash vid. Also, not all flash video is recognized by the browser.

Here are some key points:

1. the Incredible has a much faster processor (1000 vs 550 on the motorola)

2. this faster processor comes with a negative; much lower battery life (146 vs 270 hours)

So it is a tradeoff, do you want to browse fast and charge everyday, or browse a little slower and only have to charge every 2nd day

3. there is a huge price difference, currently on amazon $150 vs $20 - this makes the motorola an "incredible" deal

@cornholio321 no ur so wrong! i have the moto droid and u can use it from like 8am-4pm on and off with a lot of multi-tasking. but its only about 4 hours of life if u use it for 4-5 hours straight without break. and just cuz its a 550MHZ doesnt mean anything! the browser is still one of the fastest android browsers. the 1GHZ just loads apps 1 sec faster and is a tad smoother and it doesnt make much of a diffrence but most ppl root there droid to a 1GHZ anyway to make it even faster!

@ysabsovi simple, first you need to root your droid and then you need to download the proccesor of a website but i would recommend you to stay with the 600 because it doesnt really make that big of a diffrence and you might mess up your phone. but if you really want to then go for the 800MHZ proccesor because it is the most stable for rooting.

@YippieYiYoYo Coming from a 'Berry, I thought I needed a physical keyboard to quickly type -- turns out I didn't. The Droid's keyboard is only so-so, but there is one "upside" I haven't seen talked about much -- when you are using the physical keyboard to type in a field on a website, for example, you actually can see the whole page while you type & see where you are actually inputting text. With just a touchscreen keyboard, the whole page is masked with the keyboard and input field box.

@progressivegirl08 Well for one, if you're filling out more than one text field on a page, you may not know which one you are filling out if you're going one to the next (especially if there are multiple text fields that have the same description name) , where it switches to the next one without showing you the page first.  Secondly, how about any type of video with chat, as an example. And then there is also the situation with playing games & having a full keyboard & d-pad.

It is rather hard to deny, that the incredible hardware wise is the better phone. However, I personally find the look of incredible too plain for my taste. I recently upgraded to a droid, about 1.5 weeks back, but am going to stick with the droid. Also the idea of having a personal key board really helps.

I don't mind an all touch screen phone, hell I wanted an iphone for the longest. However I cannot get into the idea, of having to play games with just a touch screen.

I was actually surprised when I went to a Verizon store and saw the Droid Incredible's screen, I was a bit disappointed. Sure, it's brighter and colors are more saturated than the Motorola Droid, but the resolution difference was immediately noticeable. The res on the Moto Droid is definitely better, and while I originally thought it was a no-brainer upgrading to the Droid Incredible, the difference in screen res is making me think twice

Nice try but yeah chris is right. The droid can be hacked to do far more customizations. It can be over clocked. It memory base is higher and gives a damn about extra mega more than 5. 8 megapixels are great but no big difference for a phone photographer. You get no physical keyboard if your screen cracks. I have to give the HTC one thing that is killing the droid in and thats the flash capabilites. So the droid slaughters that phone.

@K1LL3RANDROID Wow, I feel sorry for you because of you lack of knowledge. The Droid and the Incredible are basically the same phone. The Incredible has a faster processor, but the Droid processor can be overclocked to speeds that meet or exceed the Incredible's. The Incredible has Sense UI and more available memory for multitasking. The Droid has a far superior build quality. Other than that, there are no differences.
