The philosophy of man always tries to give humanistic reasonings for gods soverignity not to be so. Let himthat have ears hear! This is the truth from the god of the true bible
this is my pastor. fortunate God brought me and my family to Berean. all the elders are awesome and the brethren are beautiful and have been loving and biblically astute to us
Sovereignty is not the same as ordaining.Calvin was not complete in sovereignty. He left distance between God ordaining all things and choosing His elect. God is perpetual Virtue He cannot suspend His Virtues or His Spirit substance.Free will believes God suspends Himself to independent virtue making choice.A person who believes in total sovereign reign of God believes He has ordained all things. The system of belief the young man described does not give definition of God's Nature.
Jim, I saw on your blog that you recommended listening to Skepple's 2010 messages. I have finished the first one, and I am here to say, "Yeah, What he said."
It was phenominal and coincides with what the Lord has put on my heart. Consistent preaching - we are blessed!
@Studier101 I'm glad you enjoyed it. The more I know of Roger Skepple, the more we find that we have in common. I am always happy to promote people who are so careful and thoughtful with the text. Thanks for your comment!
On the conference website, click the link in the upper left-hand corner entitled "Messages." There you'll find mp3's of this year's (and previous year's) messages. This particular clip was taken from the third message in Dr. Skepple's series on discipleship. You'll also really enjoy David Morris's series on Sanctification.
Excellent teaching by Dr. Skepple! You know Jim, you look at that pulpit and expect to see one man standing there that truly belongs there that is sorely missed, Elder D.J. Ward.
