This was the ultimate blues song in that it was truly sad, truly heartfelt, magnificently melancholy and didn't have a single blues cliche about wakin up this mo'nin or any blues misogyny where the girls are always the devil with tits.
Also, If you want to hear the 'Green God' at his raw best, search You Tube for:
'I've Got A Mind To Give Up Living/ All Over Again'
Recorded: Live In The Warehouse, New Orleans, LA | [31.01.1970]
Without exception one of the must beautiful emotionally painful songs ever recorded. Sometimes its heard to hear perfection... But you will find it hear!
If anyone gets the chance or knows where to download the BBC documentary 'Peter Green - Man of the World' do it! You won't be disappointed, one of the best documentaries about one of the most talented musicians ever.
No one will ever write a more poetic, beautiful and yet doomed song! It becomes more lament-full the more you love Peter Green's playing - i.e. the more you listen the sadder it gets! Simply the greatest guitarist bar-none - His tone and technique are sublime. Also, one of the most under rated singer song writers of all time. Man, for just a drip of his talent! ~ Long live the Green-Manalishi!
just amazing , never tire of listening to peter play . i would have given anything just to be able to play for my owe enjoyment , it was not to be so i have to listen instead .
One of the greatest songs ever by one of the greatest guitarists ever by the greatest band ever, Peter Green and the REAL Fleetwood Mac. Journey into the soul on the wings of a giant Albatross. Oh Well perhaps I just need the Green Manalishi. Peter had it right long before the rest of us realized it, "When I talked with God I knew he would understand..... But don't ask me what i think of you you might not get the answer you wanted too", Oh Well
Imagine such brilliance being wiped out by some bad acid one night in Munich, and it took down Danny Kirwin as well. I know Peter is doing much better and playing again, but I wish we would hear more about Danny. I understand he is still in a mental hospital, but it's difficult to find if he has made any progress. Would be wonderful to see the two play again, if it were somehow possible.
I just caught Aids listening to this song. Bittersweet I've gotta admit. Such a wonderful song, but the Aids part, well, that kinda sucks. Even worse is the fact it's bad Aids.
i have loved peter down through the years, sometimes i drift away but then it hits me and he just reels me back in and i am lost in his hazy blues ,anyone who has a sensitive bone in there body can relate to this absolute class
It always makes me smile when people say “What a shame that Peter was so tormented. He could have made music like this forever” No, he couldn’t, because music likes this comes from a tormented artist. The balance of genius and lunatic is what gives us this sort of beauty. It brings risks for the artist, but I am selfish enough that I can live with that, if I get this wonderful music out of it.
@ahorwood This was Peter at his very best. I have never heard anyone with such touch and tone. No one comes close for the feeling he played with. Thanks for the Music Peter.
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song ever

Ironic that Fleetwood Mac's greatest talent was totally absent throughout their mega successful years, never to rejoin.

BB King said Green was the best blues guitarist around. Who are we to argue with the likes of him?
