I recently dyed my hair because the roots were showing again. I guess the easy way to stop the continual hair dying process is to dye your hair back to as close to it's natural colour as you can. That way you wont notice the roots.

I also don't see the big issue with grey hair either (although I'm pretty sure I will freak out a little when I get my first grey hair!) because I think it just makes people seem more distinguished.

I'm 47 and I have the gray, silver or salt and pepper hair... I also have a pair of those glasses but for night driving.... My friends and family call them my Roy Orbison glasses.. I love the color of my hair and wouldn't color it for the world.....I started getting gray hair when I was 16... By the time I was 30 it was over and no more brown hair... Thanks for posting...

I did the dying of the gray hair when I was in my early 30's. It worked for a while, but like she said, I became a slave to it. Now that I'm 40, I got so much gray hair up there I don't know what to do about it. Just cut it short and keep it neat. Gray with grace I guess.

I have all gray hair that you are talking about and people do ask me why I don't color it. Sometimes I do, but I'm pushing 50 and most of the time I feel like you do-why bother, who am I trying to impress at my age? Aging ain't fun or easy but I will never ever go under the knife to look younger-I think it's insane and ridiculous what some women think they have to do to stay cool and look young. I'd rather be cool as a old and wise gray haired woman than resort to being so cheap and fake!

My I have quite a few grays coming in with my hair, and like you, I'm not dying it, I worked by butt off to get those...lol And my husband has made it clear he doesn't want me to dye my hair either, he loves the gray, It's a cool color! If I didn't have the type of eyeglasses that turn dark in the sun I would probably find those type of sunglasses and wear them. But the have the bifocals, no line that darken. They cost too! I still look my age, 65.
