High Land, Hard Rain was an amazing album, thanks for posting this! Saw these guys open for E. Costello in 1983 and they blew us away. The funniest thing was that they took about 15 seconds to come back for their encore. They were pretty excited about the rousing reception.
Great record, needed 2 chances to chart just shows how competitive the chart was at the time, now all you need to do is sell hardly anything to get a placing.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
This style of music was underground early in the 80's before it became pop and became corrupted. Once the mainstream got tired of it and moved on, the music remained, but the musicians changed. Your point is quite valid.
I really didn't realise just how similar this is to the 90's indie scene. The hairdo's and the sound. The Inspiral Carpets and the Charlatans etc. Or have a had too much buckfast? Please tell me if I am wrong! x
@pe4cefrog A little bit, yeah..although the Charlatans and Inspiral Carpets had a lot of keyboard sounds on their songs...I look back at the last decade and think that the last decade was remarkably dull...
Nice one....lurve this band
