  • and we have millions of people living lavish in the other part of the world who simply cares only for their Lexus or bmw...cigar 50" tv

  • Thanks for raising awareness :)

  • Wow.... the video resolution wasn't very good quality but the message is still incredible. It's amazing how many needy children there are in the world and here we Americans are spending thousands on "in vitro" fertilization treatments for our own selfish satisfaction of procreation... and we thought it was all about Africa.

  • The world has poored billions apon billions of money into needy countries, and nothing has changed. The problem isn't, over population, not enough food, or jobs... is all about distribution.

  • Iasfan, thanks for the response, the problem and the solution is never just one thing.

  • I would be interested in hearing a bit more about this "distribution" theory. Can anyone direct me to a resource that could tell me more about the influences of power in these countries?

    Thanks!

  • The world has poored billions apon billions of money into needy countries, and nothing has changed. The problem isn't over population, not enough food, or not enough jobs... is all about distribution. Their governments are keeping them this way, no matter how much others try to help. The political system is corrupt, the best way to help would be to fly down their yourself. Cut out the middle man, no fraud charity broadcast.

  • iasfanclub, Perhaps you should visit. Problems of this magnitude are never one thing or one solution. Thanks for sharing your view.

  • Ah then what can we do to help? I want to see poverty end as well. Please I must know what can we do? The children are beautiful and they deserve much more then what they have. Their future is in the hands of this generation. How do we fix poverty?

  • Ultimately, everyone needs to add whatever ability, money, plolitcal will they have. Ending poverty will not happen on good wishes and symbolic gestures.

  • We see this numerous times in a day.India is developing and money is slowly trickling to lower classes. I'm hopeful that in another 10 yrs, we won't have such poverty. Someone suggested that parents this poor should not give birth. As a fact, no. of children per family in poor families is over 4. And according to Indian principles, you cannot force anyone on such issues. Only way to solve is to educate the parents and Indian govt. is doing it but, with such huge population, it will take time.

  • Rajkiran, Thank you for this thoughtful comment. We hope that today's reality is not tomorrow's for India's. The other side of this is the growing competition for resources and environmental quality of life as more people have more.

  • Merci pour ce clip.

    wow...

  • Thanks for the video response

  • Views Tester, thanks...

  • magnifique terrible !!

    cette video est vraiment révélatrice!

    merci

  • This is something that should be featured instead of the crap they have now. But unfortunately I think we should concentrate on our own countries problems before we can help others.

  • Idclip, thanks for the comment and pleas pass the video link to the youtube head office. This is seen in India. And regardless of borders, help when and where we each can is what is important.

  • omg this is rlly sad....

  • We are hoping first to raise awareness and then inspire action...and compassion. Visually and Respectfully, The Tibetan Photo Project

  • Not to preach about birth control, but why would grown adults choose to have children if they knew this was a predetermined existance? Iguess mom and dad don't look as cute crawling through the hope

  • Stupoyo, The solution you offer makes sense, but only from your own fortunate viewpoint, education and advantages. Most people cannot imagine poverty at this level. Perhaps instead of preaching, find a way to help. Going to India to understand it would be a good place to start. Thanks for the comment.

  • Having been to India ( and I am from the Uk) i fully agree with this... people simply have NO idea what is involved in education, birth control and health in a country where children have to dance to afford to feed themselves

  • Perhaps they don't even have a dad. Perhaps their mothers are poor prostitutes whose only option in life is selling their body to customers of which many deny wearing condom! And no, the woman doesn't have a choice... When u come to poverty levels this bad there is no choice! And don't be surprised, there are more people who ISN'T aware of aids than there is people aware!

  • Foggerdk, what people need to realize is there is no parent looking after these kids. These and millions of kids are completely on their own.

  • this reminds me of the time i went to borneo, these kids came up to me and tryed to sell me cigarettes they were about 8-10 years old, i was about 12, it was so sad:(

  • theeastside,

Thank you for your insights. People need to know these things and until we are featured, please tell friends to have a look

  • Great video! I have a question. Instead of paying millions and millions of dollars to NBA guys to bounce a ball, or to MLB guys to hit a ball, or to NFL guys to throw a ball, how about combining all those millions and millions of dollars together and distribute food for the hungry around the world?

  • PraiseWebsite,

Thanks, I guess the best way to create compassion with wealth is via education, thus posting this video, and then if you share with your friends and they with theirs...we begin.

  • I think it's great that you are raising awareness for the homeless children in India by making and posting this video. Keep up the good work, and thanks for posting this as a response to my video.

    Cheers, Johnny

  • JohnnyDurham19

Thanks for the space on your video.

We have yet to be featured so its through good folks like yourself that we are able to get people over to take a look... you are a huge help...

  • So did the camera person give the girl some money or what?

  • We have responded to this above and Yes we did. We simply wanted the viewer to experience it as we did. Thank You

  • yeah, i want to ask that question too.

  • Once again generally people give a rupee, we gave them 500 at an exchange rate of about 45 rupees to the dollar. Of course we had to stop filming to give the money and this way you feel the same way we did when we came across this clip.

  • omg dis is sooo sad :(

  • Thank you for your comment.. consider what you can try to do... anything you choose to do helps

  • so cute

  • These kids and millions more like them are on their own on India's urban streets.

  • Very touching...

  • It is so sad..

  • We caught this sequence in the Tibetan community of Majnu Katilla in Delhi while filming "Visually and Respectfully Yours - The Story of The Tibetan Photo Project.". In the full context of the film, we discuss the Tibetan community in exile as it fits into the fabric of life in India. We have posted this as a stand alone to help bring awareness of the plight of millions of Indian children who survive alone on India's urban streets.

  • I normally wouldn't let "unrelated videos" pass as a video response to mine, but this one is an exception. I hope more people see this because it's really inspiring.

  • Email on Youtube is pretty sketchy, so, thanks to smpfilms from The Tibetan Photo Project.

  • Well you told me to watch it, so here I am!! Poor lil kids =[

  • Thats horrible...Thank you for making me aware that there really are people that live like this.

  • Please see our comment above, you will see that we did give money. We simply had to stop filming in order to do so.

  • Annespade, thanks for the comment... its really hard to say how they do. They are completely on their own. People give a rupee here and a rupee there, We gave 500 and the rate was 45 rupees to the $... but there are at least 17 million kids on India's streets. Hope you checked all our vids.

  • Ok, the boy on the drums is really good. I wonder if they make enough money this way. Good vid capture. It is amazing we all fight so hard to gain things in our world and there are kids like this who just need something to survive. Send this vid to P. Diddy and Paris Hilton, too, here on YT.

  • That's so sad.

  • good video ! .. thanks, and wish u the best luck

  • oh thats so sad... that little kid is so cute.

  • mr tibetan photo guy, im curious about what sort of things you do to make a different??

  • We do what we can to provide materials so that Tibetans in exile can create a voice through their own photography and thanks for asking. Hope you will visit the Website at www.tibetanphotoproject.com

  • ah yea, the amazing results of modern capitalism, globalism and colonialism. Or, the amazing result of me sitting here infront of my 3ghz computer, in my expensive apartement, looking down trough the window at my new car. Ah yea.

  • I am just asking regarding your comment on the boy Dancing in India, in the end, it seems you are in a position that would allow you to help someone somewhere?

Thanks for the comment, just not sure where you are headed with it.

  • actually the countries who participate in the globalization process generally have have less poor than they did 20, 25 years ago and are now richer than countries that were their counterparts then as well. The reason people blame capitalism for poverty is that there hasn't been ENOUGH push for companies to enter these countries and create jobs that the poor can take part in. Capitalism ain't perfect perfect but it sure beats letting people starve to death.
