i dont know if you are stupid or not and actually i don't realy care.....however just by the name, an amplificator amplificate the sound of the guitar.. its true there are good ones that amplificate better and not so good ones but the sound of a guitar from it major part cames from the guitar itself......from the pick-up, bridge etc....

well it does depend on the guitar somewhat... it also depends on the type of strings you have... there is also the amp and distortion pedal that also changes it but its not much the different sounds on the guitars also depends on who makes them like first act uses low end materials so it dosent sound so great but if u get a gibson or a strat which use meduim to high end materials makes it sound better
