I am going to get a 1TB hardrive (actually 2 with raid1) so tat I could install all the steam games i want and save all the videos and music I want as well as many other things.

No, you only need 1. Also They are mostly compatible, you just have to see if the drive is a IDE drive, or a SATA drive. (Some may say serial ATA, they are all the same.) Your motherboard should say if it has a IDE or SATA space. If you don't know they are very easy to find, you can just google image either 1 and it will show up.

You don't really need two optical drives. The only reason to have two is if you have a program that copies disks or to use one as a backup if your primary disk drive dies.

You can use molex for the power. 1 is good enough but i would recommend 2, as they're about £20 each.

Optical drives have no influence on the PC's speed and performance. The more optical drives you put in the PC, the more power its going to need in order to run.

Earlier you could select which is your primary drive, but now normally the computer does this on its on so put it on "cable select"

@casanova1135 no, 2gb isnt even enough for windows you dumb fuck, what on earth is wrong with you, 15 gb minimum for windows but thats still not enough, if you use programs like sony vegas and edit videos youre going to need at least 500 GB. id say 160GB minimum any less and you wont have much for many games and programs unless you dont really use your computer.
