I can understand your point of view, it is difficult not being cynical when questioning the honour of these pro-athletes who make so much money. But the vast majority of the fighters do live by an unwritten code. There have been, and will continue to be exceptions to this rule. But the fact of the matter is, that it is a far cleaner game then what it was in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Agreed with what you stated. Back in minor hockey, we had to wear full-face shields or masks. If you took your helmet off before a fight, you would get yourself kicked out of the league. I always thought it made the fighting a little more interesting, not to mention skillful, to see who was quicker at getting the other guy's lid off. You just didn't want to fight a guy who had a major height advantage over you- he'd fuck you up.

If you're a little guy you have to get the quick jersey grab and then pull the big guy's head down. Classic Domi strategy. If you can get the spin going too it's hard to defend, because being bent over and spinning around you have bad balance. It's hard to fight when you have a little monster hanging off your neck.
