@pjlehtim it does work! I got the G1 and with the default browser and Steel you can only view them. But if you use the new Opera Mini browser (available on the marketplace) and you go to your google docs and scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see an option to view as if on your PC. Then you can add new docs and edit! YAY!

I will say that I like using MS Office for a lot of quick stuff like typing a paper for school or what not. MS Office has a lot more editing features, but Google Docs is probably the best web-based document editor out there. I have used some spreadsheets a few times with some friends that were automatically updated with forum posts. All of the admins then looked at all the entries and made comments. When there was more than 1 person viewing it, you could chat with them in real-time about the doc

Too bad none of my College professors accept Google docs as a valid way to write documents, since in google docs you cant add page numbers or a header/footer per page, you can't format it to MLA like you can in office, and it uses the incorrect numbering/lettering form for bullets...

@Jimmy57452 The point isn't to be the best. The whole point of Google Docs is that you don't need installed software(aside from your browser, of course) and for it to be easy to use and shareable.

You're kidding, right? MS Office 2010 is the best document and office program PERIOD. Google Docs can't even come close to open office. It doesnt have any of the proper formating tools, and the documents are one long page, not organized into multiple pages. Google Docs editors are no where near as good as openoffice even...

The only reason I use Google Docs is too have all my documents in a cloud instead of my hard drive...

I don't think a password's needed. If you're sharing with a person, you've given that person access already, why add another password? My group wouldn't use it if they had to log in *and* key in a second password. I think it's great as it is.
