There are places the railroad can't come back--this is one of them--its still here, ust raised up--this trail is underwater some times during the year
@Rahja76 Unfortunately, the costs involved to run a railroad, even a tourist line, are fairly high.
Rails to Trails was created to preserve the original ROW, or Right Of Way the railroad built, for future railroad usage by making a recreational trail. However, once people are accustomed to the trail, they are not pleased when the program is used to benefit a railroad and restore rail traffic.
Oh how much things have changed since I've been gone!

Why do they do rails to trails? It's better to restore the rails and run steam locomotives on them. It creates more visitors, attractions and revenue
