Hi Edna! I love your work...I have a question, How do you secure the silk ribbon on a BC covered cake? What is the best way to hide the end of the ribbon if I do not ended with a bow?
If they are smaller usually Icing. If they are really big, usually buttercream and the wire. If it is fondant You can use Royal Icing or even white chocolate.
I do them freehanded.. Takes a bit of practice. Practice in a board first. I find that trying to follow a pattern can be more difficult than creating one yourself..

I put dots like if it was a button closure. I secure it in the back with a dot of glue gun. Just make sure it doesnt hit the cake.
