  • While they were similar v-8 designs, the cart cosworths were turbocharged and the Benetton v-8s were not as turbocharging was banned in 1989.

  • The Ford-Cosworth engine in Piquet's Benetton sounds much like the engines used in IndyCars (also with Ford-Cosworth involvment) at the time. Might the same engine platform have been used by Cosworth for F1 and CART?
