@jleb22 no...it's BASED on the russian composer Rachmaninov....and that's only the "interlude" section...get it..?....Eric wrote the chorus as well.... do you think Rachmaninov wrote words to a pop tune in the 1800's....?? Guess again.

@GUIDOBRAT Wrong! Not only the interlude at all. The verse is lifted straight from the Second Piano Concerto, the chords are EXACTLY the same. Go and look it up. Quote by Eric Carmen himself "I was listening to Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto (written in 1901) and I heard the melody which I used for the verse. "

@jleb22 Yes man, that is known. He isn't trying to rip off Rachmaninoff at all. He is honering him by sampling from him. He isn't even trying to hide it. But I think it is a successful re-arrangment on his part. I like how he adds his mini cadenza before the final return. Atleast on the recording it is much better and more full. Here it is pretty weak and sleepy and he even hit a wrong note. Funny how Josh Groban did the exact same thing on "Remember When it Rained"

@BobsArtGallery Wouldn't expect anything less from the infamous TOTP orchestra. The irony of it all is that the guitarist probably actually WAS asleep! Seeing as the TOTP orchestra members were all middle-aged time servers that were only getting work due to the restrictive practices imposed by the Musician's Union.
