  • i remember , being from the 7th playing in Hardin Park, hearing st. aug practicing b4 the jamboree against da K and str8 leaving the court. Sprinted like a mad person on that dope like, MAN YOU HEAR THAT SH** I'M A HELLA ......LOL

  • @50420052908 i very much so remember that!!!!......i think everybody that lived in backatown wanted a part of that prestige st aug had to offer...if not they sure as hell hear them across a.p Tureaud down hope st all the way to elysian fields!!!

  • That sax solo was pretty sexy, but the rest of the music, as per usual for show bands, was quite bad.

  • Was that dude grinding pepper at 9:42 ????

  • so musically talented. i love saint aug..:D they take music seriously, and all kinds of sizes and shapes, and colors are in this school :D

  • i was one of the Purple Knight Cheerleaders on that field (painfully) performing that damn macarena. LOL HATED that overplayed song back in the day! I wish I could find more footage of the band when i was on the squad (1996-1998), but so far this is all. I was priveleged to perform in far better field shows than this one, and made great friends, both on the band and the squad. What wonderful memories.

  • SWD And St. Aug are both legendary and legacy wielding bands, but St. Aug was superior in drilling everytime they crossed paths. But either way both bands suck today.lol.

  • Dam the aug raised their horns way up in performance.lol.lol.

But them ATL band flew all the way from ATL to get whipped, and SWD did the same thang in 04.lol.

  • this showwas so boring. it was not better than SWD

  • It is obvious to me that you are from the ATL. LOL! You're right, maybe St. Aug should apologize for actually performing a real drill at a marching band competition. I'm sorry that we didn't make a smiley face and shake our butts the way SWD did. LOL! YOULLL! LOL!

  • No sir what St.Aug did was a SIMPLE step 2 Drill that any MIDDLE school could/can Execute...maybe that's why they got no love for it? And now you're trying to pretend as if we dont have eyes and can CLEARY SEE who put on the better shows... AGAIN SWD AND LITHONIA WERE BETTER THAN st. aug.- NEXT TIME SEND 35 or a FL school!

  • Sometimes it seemed like we sounded even better while marching than standing still. SWD was good that night, but we were great! Lol! It's funny seeing how small I was back then. I was the 1st baritone player to get a close up shot while marching.

  • Please that show was so boring and yall got NO HOUSE! SWD AND LITHONIA were better! EVERBODY SAID ATL KILLED YALL!

  • Amen! St.Aug C/O 1995 The best year in sports for St.Aug National Champions in basketball....the best high school in the country in producing successful and well respected individuals in society and whoever commented on the Hamps Board...Amen..don't forget about Karusso beating the hell out of the color guard!

  • man st. aug sounded and looked so nice

  • I was there it was soo fun

  • Comment removed

  • they should be grown now and having a life

  • The sax solo reminds me of Marcel Pratt, former drum major, who played the solo on an earlier Kenny G song, Songbird, back in 1984.

  • ay can u see all them kids marching on that lil street down st charles for mardi gras...this band was HUGE....but they alwyas 1 of the country best

  • Great Year!

  • ..and the beauty of it all is that

they are high school kids keeping the dream of Edwin Hampton alive. Thanks to all of you Purple Knights.

  • St.Aug drills better than most HBCUs. I know that's a hard pill to swallow, but it is very true. If you don't believe me just look at JSU and FAMU's drill from the same BOTB, and compare. And please keep in mind that I did not say anything about sound (Of course they sound better), just drilling.

  • Being an alum of St. Augustine, I know why the drilling was on par if not better than most HBCU's: the board! When young brothers messed up, they had to face Mr. Hampton's wrath with paddle on the backside. We all felt the sting of the paddle.

  • I remember bieng here watching this. It was the last good one in the N.O.(just my opinion)

  • Simply The Best!!! c/o92

  • That's my year 96-97
