  • I have the Ultra's ONLY because where I live they never seemed to have the ZXE's in stock for my car (go figure). I already like the look of the Ultras but the ZXE lights I know are brighter and give a performance look. The clearest white you can get is 4500k, and these come up to 4200k. I am happy with mine for now, an although they do seem pricey, they are worth the light. The only bad thing, they only last a year or two and they get dim, so you have to buy more.. Also, since when is changing

  • @mexicanboy0417 Sylvania claims the SSU's are brighter but the ZXE are whiter. I really enjoy the light from the ZXE but I think my DRL's are killing the high beam bulbs. I need to figure out how to disable them.

I believe buying on ebay is the best way to go for the ZXE's because you can get them for $40 a pair instead of $60 effectively making them cheaper than SSU in the store

  • Dont be mad about the scratched paint bro. Looks like shit anyways

  • @yomama22265 nobody asked you -_-

  • I have the Silverstar Ultras in my 2010 Fusion right now, which has projectors. They work pretty decent. Still not enough light on the sides of the road, so can't see people walking lol. Still much whiter and brighter than stock though. I wonder if these new zXe ones would be better? Looks nice.

  • @giannial1985 The zXe bulbs are whiter than SSU's (4100K color) but the SSU's you have now are supposedly brighter.

  • @KrankieV2 The SSU's are 4100K, but what's the color temp. of the zXe's?

  • @giannial1985 i believe the packaging says up to 4200K. it looks like a bigger difference in person though..

  • @KrankieV2 4200K will make a difference from the 4100K. Imagine if they could make a 5000K set lol

  • @giannial1985 there is a brand called Nokya that claims to have a set that produces 7000K light but i hear they are total garbage. best to stick with good well known brands IMO

  • @KrankieV2 Oh yeah, would never buy those. I love Sylvania and Philips bulbs. Btw, like how your lenses are nice and clear still, considering the age of the car.

  • @giannial1985 I don't think I have ever seen a Cavalier of this generation with hazy headlight lenses to be honest. Ford cars seem to have worse headlights than GM in that respect.

  • @KrankieV2 You know something, you're right. My friend used to have a 90 Beretta and its lenses stayed clear. His mom had a 95 Cavalier coupe too, and they stayed clear. GM must make real weather resistant headlamps.

  • @giannial1985 They are made by guide. Whoever makes them for Ford must use crappy plastics. I hate to admit that because I'm a very big Ford fan.

  • @KrankieV2 Yup, and Guide's pretty good. Yeah, I'm a big Ford fan myself. I used to have an Escort. My mother's old car. It was a 99, lasted till this summer. Had it 11 years. Piston or something blew in the engine sadly.

  • instead of having rubber, it should be foam.

  • @breakdance1441 I'm sorry but what exactly are you referring to? What should be foam?

  • @breakdance1441 Oh, i meant at the car wash, they should foam brusher instead of rubber brusher.

  • @breakdance1441 oh. I think the brush I used was split end plastic bristles which are very soft but still scratch. Foam would work well to not scratch but isn't nearly durable enough for that application, unfortunately.

  • @KrankieV2 yeah. Maybe they should use like a soft cloth brusher.

  • stop swaring you little shut

  • @domains38 What the fuck kind of cunt shit comment is that? It doesn't even make any fucking sense. It's all fucked up and retarded and shit.

  • yup !sylvania"the OEM's choice" i only use Osram sylvania, philips ,wagner ,GE,koito, stanley, toshiba, hella or bosch bulbs ,all others are junk ,thats why no OEM's use them ,they don't meet OEM specs or quality controls

  • @4:26 yup pilot junk , but blue light won't filter thru a amber/yellow lens thats why it appears darker ,they are good for clear lenses only like license plate lights or roof/dash lights

  • should just get a pair of used OEM HID ballast and D2R/D2S bulbs ,avoid the cheapo aftermarket HID kits unless you find a good set of 9006 HID conversions stick with 4000-6000 k anything over is BS "blue marketing"

  • @3:50 those brown spots caused on the old bulb is from the DRL's halogen cycle don't work properly at 60% power ,halogen cycle works better when the bulb is 100%-105% power ,but most auto makers like GM & toyota fail to realize this, they should make DRL's 100% power or just use regular bulbs

  • Don't these not last as long as a regular bulb?

  • @BigGhommie correct, they do not last as long. but pretty much anything that is considered "high performance" doesn't last as long as "standard"

They last OK though, they even have have a 1 year free replacement warranty.

  • Those headlites are nice at night and I still love tha cav lol the green pin strip looks nice as well i highly recamend a turbo :)

  • @Needmorehorsepower No turbo for this car! It's too far gone underneath to be worth putting much money into. The body fools you into thinking this car is clean, but the underside is a rusty ugly mess. Some day, if I find a really nice and rust free cav, I would love to build a sleeper out of it. not flashy, not loud, just fast.

  • you are one grumpy person. Wow, all that cursing for a set of headlights. Take a f*ckin chill pill dude.

  • @Toomsy22 Have you even looked at my YouTube name? I prefer the term "cranky" or "krankie" over "grumpy". All my videos are like this and most of my subscribers enjoy it. If you don't like it, feel free to hit the dislike button and move on.

  • A buddy of mine took his new truck thru 1 of the gas staton carwashes got a fill up and a free carwash there was an old duster going in rite before him and he didnt pay lot of attention to then he went in and as the big brush spinning around came down to the truck he noticed the antena of the car before caught in the brush it beat the hood 3 times broke the windsheils dented the roof broke out the back window and dented the tailgate and the station said sorry but we have diclaimers

  • @Needmorehorsepower holy shit! Nothing is free after all.

  • @Needmorehorsepower his insurance company would probably get the gas station to pay for it. they have good lawyers.

  • I was thinking of getting ultrastars for my car. I want a brighter light than it has. Thats the only thing i miss about my hyundai the nice bright lights.

  • @1944johndeerel the silverstar ultra bulbs are supposed to be brighter than the zXe bulbs, but not as white.

  • @KrankieV2 stick with OEM brands like sylvania ,the Nokya 7000k bulbs are cheap garbo bulbs that blow out quick ,also the higher the "K" THE LESS VISABLE LIGHT after 6000k they only cost 90 cents to make those bulbs in korea ,even cheaper in china, but they are expensive here, stick with sylvania or philips bulbs ,also be weary of stores like autozone ,the blister packaged sylvania bulbs are sometimes just repackaged chinese garbo instead of OEM US made bulbs.

  • @daewooparts I only boy Sylvania bulbs. Sometimes Wagner. Never again will I buy any off-brand chinese junk bulbs.

  • I had the same paint problem with my car but it wasn't from the car wash it was from the storm damage October of 2010, there no way I could prevented it unless I had a garadge or carport for my car which I don't have.

  • I love blue headlights.

  • i found a cavalier for 500 on craigslist. wish i could get it and fix it since it doesnt have any rust :/ some kid put flame stickers and shit on it tho

  • @borderlineartistic the stickers might be removable without ruining the paint.. Who even puts flames on a cavalier? LOL they're not very fast

  • @KrankieV2 i saw a video of someone that swapped a 3.8 motor in one like yours

  • @borderlineartistic that's pretty crazy! Would be peppy though!

  • It does look brighter.

  • Pretty cool lites :D man too bad about the finish, if I use the foaming brush in those self service car washes I rinse it good with the power wand first. but I mostly don't use it because I only use self service in winter and the brush is usually frozen solid anyway.

  • @coolbluelights no matter how clean those brushes are, they scratch. Hand washing is definitely the way to go! Maybe next year we can install a little spigot in your garage so you can have good water pressure to wash your cars.

  • I need to get something like that for my truck. But, I already have people flashing me thinking my brights are on.

  • @mbyr31 Perhaps your lights need to be aimed.

  • People are starting to say a car is a "ricer" just because it has one simple mod done on it, i dont understand it and it pisses me off because i have alot of cosmetic mods done to my car that are very clean looking yet some douches say its rice because i modded something that wasnt the engine.

I normally dont like Cavs but you have one of the nicest ones ive ever seen. black is rare on them and im digging that lime green pinstripe. nice work.

  • @FPGT24 Thanks man. i take a lot of pride in this car after all the work I have put into it. of course I couldn't have done it without the help of my dad. If it weren't for him, this car would have been scrapped long ago.

People are using the term "rice" a lot more nowadays. nothing we can do about that.

if you look closely, there is also a purple stripe under the green one. I am having vinyl Chev badges made up to match the stripe.

    thanks for watching and commenting
