You have to either save Great Fox in the Sector Z or send the train in Macbeth crash into the supply depot. After that go through Area 6 and than defeat Star Wolf 2 above. Than you fight THE final boss.

It's the VC version. But I find that I shoot faster on the N64 version. it doesn't matter though which version it is to shoot fast.
