@nathanip1 I am not sure, it was a couple of years ago and I never noticed him in the video..you have good eyes. I think, though, that he is a real person, because if he were a ghost from the old west 1880's he would be wearing some kind of hat. Most men in those old outdoor pics from those days wore hats.
Let us remember this was a brutal age, where life was 'nasty, brutish and short' It was an age where you could be hanged for stealing a horse and the average life expectancy was around 40 if you were lucky. It was the rule of the gun. The more important and wealthy you were the more laws you could flagrantly ignore, especially the town's sheriff who was often in the pay of the richer merchants. Wyatt Earp and his brothers were 'hardcases' and many feared them in Tombstone.
Yeah true, good point. Still cool nonetheless, they did a good job replicating them though, they look authentic. I would love to visit Tombstone some day.
@azpipeguy Painted lettering would fade out over time but in such an arid climate, I wouldn't expect wooden markers to rot. Unfortunately, the recreated markers are bit too uniform to look historically accurate. Gives the impression of being a tourist attraction instead of a historic site. Seems like there would be some old photos of the cemetery that would show at least some of the original markers. It's too bad more historically accurate duplicates haven't been made.
Great video. Is there a reason for being burried in boothill? - crime and such like.. I love the films about this place it's great to see it for real. Cheers

Are those the original grave markers that were put there when the Clanton gang were killed?
pittresident 2 years ago
I think those markers are all modern. The wooden ones would have dry rotted by now. but those are the actual graves of the cowboys.

I love Az.
The state feels like the old west to me.
And the landscape is beautiful. So are the old towns like Tombstone.
