When I was younger I read in an edible wild plants book that I had that dandelions were edible, so I went out into the front yard, picked some of the leaves, and boiled them in my little camping stove kit. Then I got a headache....so I haven't eaten them again. For some reason, certain smells give me a headache, so I figure it wasn't the plant itself.....
The leaf, flower, and root are all edible and full of nutrients and more iron than spinach. Never eat the stem...as it has white milky latex. Its not so good for your stomach, but it can be made into rubber and can be used to treat skin conditions. Dandelion leaf, flower, and root...dried out and ground down makes for excellent tea. I just put the mixture into organic coffee filters (they're like a dollar for a bunch) and tie them off with string, to make my own tea.
Paul Wheaton, you should not eat what Christi will eat i have observed her in another video of yours, she seems to be is a crazy young thing who will eat anything. I have had alder flowers fritters they were deliouse, very hayfevery but deliciouse. I think you dip the whole head of them in eggs and then flour and fry them in olive oil and then sprinkle with sugar. May be you dip them in flour and then eggs that way the batter is not too heavy. rose.
pick a lots of those dandelion flowers, boil them in mix of water and sugar until you get a honey looking mixture and voila you got a dandelion honey.

You can make tea. I've seen it on youtube, and I've heard about it sometime ago, it looks ok.
Don't know what the tea would taste like. I saw the blossoms eaten right off the lawn for the
very first time a couple of days ago when I first saw this video. My stomach turned, but if you
have eaten them, or you want to, that's fine. I have a hard time convincing myself
they are safe to eat providing there are no chemicals on the flowers.

I eat stinging nettle leaves all the time. Just make sure you fold the leaf so the stingers are on the inside. :)
