  • i actually met a guy like this a few months ago...it was (excuse the expression) hell.

  • lol

  • You're not smarter than Solomon.

  • I think the ironic thing is the individual in this position would, quite conversely, be accommodating for their own lack of self-esteem by attributing themselves with exaggerated ability.

By the way, I will third this rumor going around that you are quite good-looking. ;)

  • @Aphotic0221 Why, thank you ;8) I do find it fascinating, clinically, being around the kinds of folks this skit was based on. The delusions/distortions/defences are writ so large.

  • @TheraminTrees Indeed, makes those of us who actually DO know everything look foolish... ;D

  • I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken about that.

  • Best video I've ever seen.

  • I have to wonder if any of this was based on real events. Am I going to find a thread with your name in the comments section on some fat woman's youtube video.

  • @brendanmcwilliams LOL — you are most certainly not! The amateur dimestore psychoanalysis that some people put out around size, sexuality, etc., — parodied in this video — is truly groan-worthy.

  • lol i think he's little bit sounds like(even act like) Ed' from Radiohead lolllllllllll

  • people who didnt get this was satire are just..ugh, "unknowing"

  • Joke or not, this is a brilliant characature of Ray Comfort et al......!! Actually, not just Ray...... absolutely every "evangelist" I ever met.

Right down, in fact, to the assessment of my personal bitterness and anger that made me reject whatever personal superstition he might be promoting......

  • Dude, you're awesome. This is known to be true for certain. I found 2 of your videos by referrals from different people (instruction manual for life from my lesbian mom who came out recently, betting on infinity from an acquaintance in a discussion about Pascal's Wager). I liked the second one better but this just proves what was already certain. If anyone denies it, they're going to Hell! I'm going to make worship rituals and teach them to everyone! They may doubt me but won't want to risk it!ß

  • I mean this in the most non sexual way possible, but I love the look of your face.

  • @TheCelticNinja LOL In the most non sexual way possible, thanks

  • @TheraminTrees Ok, perhaps sexual wasn't the right term. I'm just saying, I'm not creepin' on you or anything, but your face is awesome/beautiful.

  • @TheCelticNinja Why thank you — there's nothing creepy about a compliment ;8)

  • @TheraminTrees Thanks in return for getting rid of my fear of creeping you out :P

  • @TheraminTrees or was there...? But on a further note-- could it be that the meaning of "funny" simply is "love" & "adoration". Whats the opposite of funny? And Theramintrees, what the hell do you do, I mean, do you teach anywhere?

  • @TheraminTrees

How did I miss this dialogue :3

  • @TheraminTrees I find you attractive in both ways but not in a creepy stalkerish way lol

  • People don't like me either. What a coincidence. That is, if you believe in such a thing as coincidence.

  • Alright! If I were a guy... I would be you. If that makes any sense, it's the truth!

  • wow, you've convinced me! being a dimestore freud sounds awesome! :O

  • I'm watching you, but I'm imagining Ricky Gervais. Your stuff would suit him perfectly.

  • But how do you KNOW you're right?

  • LOL! Wonderful satire. Thanks for the laugh!

  • Okay, you seem to be a smart guy, so answer me this: what kind of person are you imitating? Is this like a take off on certain kinds of narcissists? Because it's scary how much you remind me of someone I know - both in what you say and your mannerisms.

  • @unclefeezus This is a kind of patchwork quilt from various experiences, online and off.

  • Actually Theramin, I bow down before you - I'd noticed the correlation between not liking the truth and not liking ME. ;)

  • Yeah. I'm getting close to understanding everything EXcept myself. Everyone else is transparent.

  • you have inspired me to make a video similar to this! just today i was deep in thought about how brilliant i am and how petty and slow everyone else is lol

  • Well, you are right.

Saying that just made me a little bit more right as well.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

  • XD sir, you slap a big stupid smile on my face!

  • Lulz, this vid sums up exactly what being a prophet is all about.

  • Haha this is great! Love your mimic and gestures ;)

  • "its something I first discovered in private contemplation."...Love it

  • What is the aim of this video? Is it aim towards those with big egos? If so, I still don't see why one needs to do that. I mean is it because somebody who recently debated with you acted that way and thus you found a need to make this video?

  • @orgminyak This was a piss-take on dimestore Freuds, who mistake self-serving rationalisation for critical analysis. It was a spontaneous bit of fun — no 'needs' are being addressed.

  • @TheraminTrees :D woot.

  • @TheraminTrees lol. I wonder if he recognized the irony in your first statement

  • @orgminyak Do you go out in the frsh air much mate?

  • @worldfullofcunts what do you mean? Yes, i get out everyday.

  • It's like the best super power ever! Knowing everything is miles better than flying or invisible planes. Well done you, i'm well jealous!

  • this is probably the best thing ever.

  • lol....

i found this cutting away at some of the fat found in religions.

its so funny to me how some people find that when it comes to religion "Im always right" and never stopped to think.....wait, how can that be?

  • It's like so cocky. lol great

  • Brilliant satire :D

  • i see what you did there, it's amusing, but so subtle that it will be mistaken for the real deal.

  • @Zralf What are you talking about?? I am the real deal!!!! Sorry to have to break it to you but you clearly have gargantuan self-esteem issues ....

  • @TheraminTrees I think this video's only negative implication for yourself is that it reveals _your_ self-esteem issues. The evidence is clear, however, you can be helped. I can help you. You don't need to thank me though, I'm used to knowing how to help people. In fact, its now reached the point where people have become habituated to my special gift and thus forget to say thank you... Because, they are so used to it you see. So sometimes I bring it up in conversation, to help them...

  • @likeprestige Those are some particularly savage personal demons you have there. I'd wish you the best, but I know that would be pointless ....

  • @TheraminTrees I can help you.

  • @likeprestige My friend, you can't even help yourself. Your best bet is to find an available delusion cocoon ....

  • @TheraminTrees Prolonging the joke - take 2 = "Now, this _delusion cocoon_, did you first discover it in a dream? I know a highly credible dream therapist that is able to help you interpret this dreams hidden subtlety. First letter of his name is _M_. Second letter of his name is _E_. So the person is M.E. Go figure? Everything is going to be ok, you'll see..."

  • @TheraminTrees Are you prolonging the joke or are you being serious?

If you are prolonging the joke:

Prolonging the joke - take 1 = "Hmm... interesting, so your way of confronting your self-esteem issues is to pretend that I am the patient? Truly fascinating, it seems that your neurosis is worse that I originally thought!"

If you are not prolonging the joke and you took what I said seriously:

Taking what I said seriously - take 1 = "Dude, it was just a joke..." "p.s-big fan of ur videos!"

  • @likeprestige Aww, I was just joking ;8)

  • I actually know some one who acts like this.

I casually brought it up to him yesterday, he grins in accomplishment and says, "Like you can't figure what's going on in my head?"

  • I don't know everything, just the important things. If I don't know it, its not important. ;)

  • i love you ^^

  • You are officially, that's right, it's official, one of my favorite people on earth. We have a lot in common, as far as I have deducted from what I have learned from your videos. Keep being, uh, whatever it is you are being right now.

  • You are so funny.

  • Nice spin on the usual Christian belief of "I have seen the light and truth" thing. It took me a minute to catch on but when I got it I had such a grin on my face. The ending was especially awesome.

  • ".. it's quite a responsibility ... although I TAKE no responsibility"

    hahaha Dude you rock.

  • very funny , had a good laff

  • You're funny. And Ok, you might always be right. But what good is it if you can't win an arguement? YOu see, right or wrong, I can win any arguement and every arguement. Many of my friends are aware of this and steer clear of me at parties and gatherings. Some have learned such respect for my argumentative skill that they don't even invite me to their events anymore.

  • lol you sound like one of those medium nut jobs.

  • That's a good gag

  • HA! Thats a good gag

  • @woodtiger359: Ironic though....He really is right this time though. ;)

  • this is brilliant, thankyou for the lulz :)

  • @pedrodemellodotnet lol! @ Well, if this is sarcasm, I guess I'm kind of an asshole.

  • Will you add 'brilliant' to your impressive list as well? :0 Nice work, calm, rational, well-thoughtout presentations - I look forward to more vids.

  • your attitude reminds me of onision, god he's a priggish prick

  • I feel your burden.

I too am always right. In fact i am even more right then you are.

You are only 100% right. I am 250% right. (yes , my rightness is so right it extends into other universes to make up the gap.)

    Even my typos are right.

And yes, you do have beautiful eyes.

  • @booley

They're not typos. The English language is just wrong like that.

  • Hm. I disagree. I try to leave others the same or better. I know I wldn't respond well to some1 pointing out my "flaws". Sometimes blurting truths just to make waves [which u knew it wld] backfires. Kinda reminds me of the whole Kanye/Taylor Swift incident. Beyonce may have had the better video, but you saw the backlash, how every1 ran to the defense of TS. Reasons to like a video are all subjective anyway. Ways to live one's life can b subjective. Knowing everything, I'm sure u know this.

  • The video was a joke ....

  • Thanks. I didn't know. I was wondering by the other comments I saw posted, but I wasn't sure. Maybe I should go to bed instead of staying up 'til 5AM posting comments on YouTube, eh?

  • Add me to the list of people who don't like you.

I love your videos, I like the clear and concise way in which you think, and the calmness with which you reply to really annoying video replies.... let's be honest here: If I was as smart as you, I'd probably like you, but I'm not so... FU TheraminTrees.

  • @viruscauser do you also have contempt for people who are less intelligent than you?

I admire TheraminTrees intelligence. Think of him as a major contribution instead of an competition

  • @viruscauser i hope that was a joke post

  • LOL. Of course it was. My peculiar way of paying some respect to someone who is obviously much smarter, and much better read, then me.

  • I'm learning to be wrong sometimes and even when to be quiet - it's hard but I can achieve my goals if I really (don't) try.

  • Next time you run into someone who knows everything, ask them how they manage to steer clear of a Cassandra complex.

  • I already have — but you wouldn't believe me if I told you ....

  • @TheraminTrees, (insert smiley here) probably true. I suffer from a strong case of naïvetéphobia (is that an actual condition?). I always assume people are jerking me around and as a consequence I'm almost pathologically sceptical.

I suppose it wouldn't harm my social interactions if I were a bit more electrical-monk-like.

  • The TheraminTrees window left me laughing harder than I have ever laughed in a long time...

good stuff! Thanks for the vid!

  • The truth is that there is no thruth

  • Oh I concur absolutely — there is definitely no 'thruth'

  • I know exactly who you are mr TheraminTrees

  • I know this person.

They once said to me that they can know everything about a person by simply looking at their face...

  • (When I say this person, I don't literally mean this person, but someone who is like the person Theramin Trees is pretending to be - I know how things get misinterpreted in the comments)

  • Theramintrees, did you narrate those vids about illuminati? Your voice sounds so much like that voice in those vids..you probably didnt..but very similar voice.

  • Whoa! Wait a minute there bucko.

You can't be right all the time...cause I'm right all the time. Only one of us can be right all the time. There is only room for one sherriff in this tube - and you ain't him.

Great stuff btw. Love your humor.

  • Actually When I am not doing anything. My rightness leaves me and goes out and about being constantly right. And that is when everyone else is right. So I am soo right that it makes others right also. Good day.

  • @updownleftrightinout Lol, you remind me of that Harry Potter comic about Mary Sues… They're like (paraphrasing), "Why aren't our charms working? Everyone should love us!" "We can't ALL be perfect. Only ONE of us can be perfect!" "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE OF US!!! *FIGHT TO THE DEATH BLAAAAAARGH*" XD

    Love your name, btw. XD

  • so so funny. i love it..

  • lol.

  • It's a heavy burden sometimes isn't it.

  • Oh well. Pardon me. I'm not English :p

  • —no. I don't pardon you. You use English perfectly well enough to judge and offend — and then pretend you don't know it well enough when your judgements are shown to be wrong.

  • I think he has self-esteem issues xD

  • I think you're right — some formidable demons there ;8)

  • Ah, but language is not all that makes a joke, unless its pure wordplay. Cultural and social factors, as well as context and personal disposition, matters a lot.

I feel quite comfortable with English, but I often miss the point of many jokes anyway, if some cultural reference or knowledge of jargon is required. And I'm generally bad at recognizing sarcasm.

I've seen a lot of videos from know-it-alls though, so I think I cought the point of this video at least. :) And it's right on spot!

  • kiteflyer85 commented on other non-humorous videos before this one and with exactly the same attitude — so it seems cultural differences in humour isn't necessarily the principle variable operating here. But parsimony and insane extrapolation are consistent features.

  • Oh, I see...

Your rather harsh reply to kiteflyer, makes a lot more sense in the context of staving off trolling, rather than an uncharacteristic(?) refusal to accept an apology for a misunderstanding.

(and I have to admit, I didn't read the first comment made by kiteflyer before posting my reply.. I now see your reaction was justified.)

  • I seriously don't want to offend you, but I don't think you do know everything. You have insight but your quest for knowledge hasn't ended.

You've questioned athority your whole life, but your weakness is your pride in thinking you do know everything. You're a quitter, and as obvious and transparent to some as everyone else seems to you...

    P.S Very good videos :)

  • er .... the video was a joke ....

  • Every joke has to have a bit of truth in it! =P

  • I love the part where you show what you know, with just a big circle and "Everything".

    lol :)

  • the logic goes something like this: knowledge is certitude; people don't like certitude where it conflicts with their certitude; your knowledge conflicts with theirs; therefore people don't like you.

'the Truth' doesn't ever enter into it, as you have revealed in your confession that this video is a joke, a satire. I suggest to you that truth is a quality of expression as it reflects coincidentally upon one's experience, and that 'the Truth' is a projection of this matching to absolute folly.

  • You said, "my eyes are being beautiful" with a lot of zeal there!

    :)

  • .... I just couldn't help myself ;8)

  • that is fantastic!

    great acting mate

  • acting ... who's acting? ;8)

    Thanks anotherlookmedia!

  • This was awesome!

  • Cheers NJoBio ;8)

  • I have a boss a bit like this. Good facial expressions!

  • A boss like this? Yikes! I'd be taking some serious 'duvet days' ;8)

  • Hilarious! I really loved this with all your other brilliance I was beginning to forget you can be one of the funiest people I have ever seen and of course your absolutely right! xxx

  • Hey BC2, thank you! This was one of my first ones a couple of years ago — when I was using an annoying whiny microphone. I thought I'd treat the sound and re-upload. Ah fun days! ;8)

  • Are you Garth Marenghi?

  • I'm not — but I did have very tender feelings for poor little Skipper the eye child ....

  • A great episode!

I enjoy your work, I actually appear to be learning something more worthwhile than "The Evolution of Dance"

Where and what did you study, if you don't mind me asking?

  • I loved the series, but yep, Skipper stayed with me. I've studied at various unis and colleges — psychology, anthropology, evolution, psychotherapy, graphic design. Unis can be inspiring environments, with great library resources, but I love the idea of learning continually in life, whether in or out of institutions.

  • Holy Crap! You're House!

  • "those things go hand in hand" well, more like cock in hand, actually. but that's just the opinion of someone who's only right MOST of the time. love to hear what you think, mate, so come on over to my channel or just reply here. doesn't matter to me, really.

  • FUCKING AWESOME REASONING!

I have to give you props for such pro arguing.

  • ...and you walk through the streets and see the faces of people who arent really living, because what they think is reality is only pretend reality based on misconceptions. You're almost there, man, you're almost there. There's just one little thing you don't know (i'm sure of it), and when I die before you, just have them pluck out my eyes and put them in your sockets so you can REALLY see. Don't worry. My eyes are beautiful too.

  • Atm Im experiencing some self-esteem issues, sniff* makes me so insecure when I find out people can read me like a book :'( this is the nail in the coffin of my self-esteem.

  • Ah — not to worry! They do say when you reach rock-bottom, the only way is up .... unless your coffin's buried under tons of earth .... ;8)

  • I'm assured by zombie horror films that my self-esteem will rise again with a horrifying mhhraahhh!, so no worries.

(ammount of time for zombie-steem to rise)

btw really improve? seems you cut from one pose to another! Haha caught you, or maybe your super quick >.> NOOOO MY ESTEEM your super speed has obliterated my newly risen undead self-esteem :"(

  • LOL zombie-steem! I love it! ;8)

  • Ties in beautifully with your Dunning-Kruger vid.

    Very very insightful.

  • Ab-so-lu-te-ly f*ing brilliant!

This is only the second vid of yours I have seen but I'm about to subscribe ;). The video reminds me of my brother.. and.. well.. myself. I know everything too, you know (I'm sure you do. As do I).

    Great stuff!

  • Brilliantly funny.

Although there was one thing I could actually relate to.

Friend or not, I MAY remember every other detail about them, problem or insecurity or history they've shared or confirmed to me and I can COMPLETELY forget their names!

    It happens too often... lol.

Also, the follow-up [that you mentioned] to this would be great if executed in another brilliant fashion. I'll be expecting it! =]

  • Oh how I smiled with recognition at this comment. ;8)

  • Gah, 1 star'd by accident, sorry. :(

  • No problem — I've done it myself, and I can't tell you how many times I've hit 'remove' when I meant to hit 'reply'. ;8)

  • The funny thing is, Link - you ARE right every time! Okay, maybe 99% of the time, but I'd take your words as fact every time! :-)

  • LOL Linny — I should've done a follow-up: 'I don't know ... most of the time!' This is a re-load of, I think, my second or third ever video. It was a time I was being bombarded by comments from people, usually anti-atheists, who seemed convinced they knew me better than me. Unfortunately, parody of often lost on the target itself, but, how shall I put it, there was a lot of fellow-feeling with other folks who'd experienced similar. I hope you don't get too much of that! ;8)

  • "parody is often lost on the target itself"

    Oh, how true.....

  • I love the creepy crawly quotation marks!

    lol @ "delusion coccoon".

  • LOL — air quotes are just so strange, I can never do them seriously — always end up taking the piss out of them somehow. ;8)

  • Oh that's it I've put up with your gibberish on the 'Illusion of superiority' video. But this is just boring now. This video is a JOKE. It's CRITICISING people who think they know what others think, but actually get them totally wrong. I'm surprised you didn't get that — because that's exactly what you've been doing to me. So go away and develop a bit more generosity to your fellow man, and you might find he's more generous to you in return. Bye bye.

  • uh oh, you fessed up.

  • Dear, dear man - brilliant work as usual. I am overjoyed that you have identified the problem of self-esteemorexia -- but don't you find that far more of the lumpen proletariat suffer from self-esteemulimia (or, in layman's terms, 'getting way above their raising')?

  • LMAO — I'm just enjoying that image of puking self-esteem down the toilet!

  • I love you!!! Especially your window comment :P maybe you do know everything and maybe you don't. Is it possible to be right all the time? Or are you having a little joke about the name thing?

Is there a God mister TheraminTrees?

  • Thanks monkeyfeet. Is it possible to be right all the time? Some folks certainly seem to think so, don't they. I guess we're left with a delicate enquiry — are they true achievers of knowledge-nirvana .... or just fragile, deluded tits.

  • there are other options.

  • ... conversation, barring, of course, their potential use as ad hominem attacks.

Of course, simultaneously, I believe I'm capable of accurately assessing my own capacity for error in this regard, and I typically know when such "psychoanalysis" is out of my reach. (IE, over the internet.)

    ... sorry, rambling.

Your videos are awesome, by the way. Very thought provoking.

    Cheers!

  • Hi QueenCavalier — I think you make a very valid point. I think we do have the capacity to gain varying degrees of understanding of someone's inner world, from our external observations. I think judgement gets murky when it comes from a smug place — 'I know you inside out'. The best analysts are the ones who do the important stuff: check, listen and revise: ie, not so connected with their own 'brilliant' theories that they lose contact with their analysand. ;8)

  • ... in saying this am committing an accident of generalization. Also, I recognize that here you are addressing anonymous internet-people who boast about their wildly inaccurate character insights. But you did make a few references to people "in person", and this sort of experience with them. For example, I find that I am not often terribly off the mark when I make assumptions based on the sum of a given person's presented behaviors. And I think those assumptions can be useful tools in (cont.)

  • Before you read this - I know you don't actually hold this view...

Sometimes, I don't think it is entirely unreasonable to assume that you understand a great deal about the motives and circumstances of other people. Obviously this is not universally true in every conceivable situation, but there are many cases in which I think some consideration of and personal reflection on other people's apparent thoughts is perfectly viable.

Of course, it's possible that I am horribly naive and (cont.)

  • This shows that too many people aren't eating properly. Else, so many wouldn't be irony-deficient.

  • LOL — I like it ;8)

  • You are brilliant! spoken like a true NPD. Though you may perceive this as funny you are in fact being very realistic and that is quite scary. The problem is this, being incompetent myself, I don't run the other way when I meet blokes like you, I greet you as a trusted crustacean would. I'm in need of a better assessment tool than YouTube because I'm not sure that I can deal with my own self-revelation here... you are freaking me out.

  • This is an HD re-upload of one of my first videos. Online psychoanalysis from total strangers was a new one on me back then — didn't stay novel for long.

  • SuddenSparkles: 'You're an interesting fellow, I'll grant you that. Putting yourself "out there" into the blogosphere is not what I would term as online psychotherapy exactly.'

—Not what I meant. I meant people who watch a video and think they know the video-makers inside-out — making all kinds of bizarre extrapolations about their motivations, experiences, etc.

  • SuddenSparkles: 'You can be what you want in the world, whether it's in your daily reality or in your dream life (which may or may not include an afterlife). Thank you for replying. I'm going to have to look at more of your videos... being bored does that to me. I crave any kind of stimulation, real or unreal.'

    —Knock yourself out.

  • SuddenSparkles: '(my guess is if you aren't a shrink you should be... either that or you might want to consider selling bobbleheads of yourself, please, make sure they can talk when you pull a string on them, everyone seems quite pleased with your accent, it's the "Fish called Wanda" effect I guess)'

—Hm .... sounds a little narcissistic.

  • SuddenSparkles: 'Have a good life, if not an afterlife... XXX'

    —I wish you the same.

  • ..omg.... your right! it makes sense

  • I saw a bit of myself there... Nice one! hehe :0D

  • I'll bet that you once thought you were wrong about something, but later found you were mistaken. Meaning you were right all along.

  • I seem to be your star-crossed nemesis. I know nothing. Or, at least I think I do, but I am not quite sure. Or maybe its just that I know one thing and that thing is that I know nothing. Or was that one thing that 'I don't know anything'..? Yes, that is it: there is absolutely zero chance that I know anything. But now it only seems like I'm winning...but I can't be sure.

  • You may have reached ultimate knowledge, but you still lack wisdom young grasshopper.

  • You are obviously in the grip of some terrible personal demons — I wish you well.

  • I have defeated those demons years ago. I think you should check to see if your knowledge of everything is up to date. ^_^

  • Your last sentence shows that you haven't in fact defeated that demons. This also explains your obsession with grasshoppers — this is the form your demons have taken.

  • Damn you could be right.... but you're wrong. Surprising for someone who claims to know everything. Worry not I have defeated those demons. If you indeed do know everything, you should know that I have defeated them.

  • Alas you are caught in a pit which even my rope of knowledge cannot provide an escape route from — not while you allow grasshoppers to drag you down ....

  • Then I shall hold on to the rope, and pull you down with me....

  • You're half way there admitting you have a problem ....
